"Our reservation was for 7 pm? we arrived 10 minutes before. We were told there is a wait?asked about outdoor seating as it was available on a first come first serve. We were told there were several tables that had been closed out and they were just sitting. We decided to wait for our table.. we were finally seated at 7:17 pm. We get drinks and bread and for 15 minutes we wait for our server to come get our appetizer order and we go ahead and give our entrée order? appetizercame out quickly, but the entrees took about 45 minutes so we spent 30 minutes just sitting and waiting- server had not come by to check on us. We finally get our entrees and they were a bit salty. My friends entree was too salty to eat -we asked for another entree to replace the one that was too salty to eat and the server tried to explain its seasoned but we know the difference between salty and seasoned. 30 minutes of waiting for the replacement dish- still no food so weasked to cancel the order and pay for our current ticket. The server said well it?s already been ordered- so we still asked to cancel the dish and bring our ticket. Finally the ticket came we closed out and left? this was our first timedining here and will be our last. It was noisy but we were able to have decent level conversations. I would have liked for our dining experience to be better for the prices and atmosphere. We never saw a manager to address our issues. Wehad to go to dinner after our dinner!!!"

"This review is actually for the Rooftop Main level but includes issues of that Rooftop. My wife and I booked reservations to the Rooftop though Open Table. But a few days prior to our reservations we were notified that the Rooftop was closed due to maintenance but they would honor our reservations on the main level restaurant. We were not able to find reservations to another restaurant at the time we needed so to keep our reservation and dine on the main level. When we arrived the main level was packed (due to others I’m assuming having to move from rooftop to the main level area) creating a very louse environment. Space seemed to have an echo which made it seem even louder. Food was ok but menu was not makes with any Gluten free options as my wife has a gluten sensitivity. Asked the server for his opinion and he didn’t seem To have a clue so just had to go with an option that would most likely be gf. I used the bathroom and they were out of paper towels and did not have blow driers. We ate our food and got out of there as quick as possible. Would try the rooftop area if available but would not go back to the main level restaurant again. Also feel That either management or Open Table needs to remove the option of the Rooftop is it’s truly not available to dine in due to maintenance. Feel like we got the bait and switch pulled on us. I saw there were others reviews on Open Table that happened weeks before that state the same issue. If the Rooftop is not open should not be able To make reservations and they should list on their website. Overall not a good experience with this restaurant."

"This review isn 't about the food. I 've never eaten a thing at Junkanoo 's. I go there for the atmosphere, the view, the staff and the cooooold beer. I 'm in Fort Meyers Beach for 10 days a year, usually at the end of March. We spend all day on the beach and then right around 3pm, my father, my brother-in-law and I head for Junkanoo 's. You walk in off the beach into a huge bar that 's completely open to the gulf. The view is wonderful, the sea air blows through the entire bar and keeps the cigarette smoke from being annoying. The bartenders are mostly young women, all attractive, all very friendly. The male bartenders range in age from 20 's-50 's and all are genuinely friendly and engaging. Live music is often performed in the afternoon, mostly laid-back rockers and cover bands but good music and not too loud. The patrons range from senior citizens (like my dad) to Harley riders and you feel comfortable bellying up to the bar next to anyone and having a good conversation in a relaxed atmosphere. I can 't recommend Junkanoo 's highly enough. The only downside is getting there. If you 're already on the island, you can take a trolley or if you 're close enough, take a leisurely stroll along the gulf to the bar. If you have to cross the bridge, be prepared for looooong lines of cars all trying to cram onto the two-lane main road of FMB. Coming from the north end you can expect at least 45 minutes in traffic to go about 3 miles. Coming from the south is usually quicker but unless you 're coming from Bonita or Coral it 's probably quicker to just bite the bullet and come in from the north. One more note: If you want to experience Junkanoo 's you should hurry. Last year we were told that it was being sold and would be torn down and replaced with condos some time in 2006. In my opinion, that 's a crime against humanity but you can 't stop ;progress ;."
