"Went there expecting my normal good dining experience. However, we got there and was seated immediately but noticed not many customers there. Once seated we realized that it was pretty warm in the restaurant. It was very hot and humid outside. I asked our waitress about air conditioning. She told us the air conditioner is broken and has been for over a month. They had floor fans blowing in a few different locations. She moved us to a table that had a fan blowing on it so we stayed and ordered food. The service was just ok and the food was just ok also. We dined there previously and had better dining experiences then. This time it was different. The mere fact that they have not fixed the air conditioning in over a month, shows that they don’t care much about both their customers and their employees."

"Good experience. Drinks were amazing. I had the Mango Chile margarita and my husband had the Mezcal Margarita. Service was great. We had a very friendly, helpful waiter. Food was good. We got the guacamole to go with our chips and salsa. There is a choice of mild, medium and spicy. We like spicy so went with that. It was good. Then we ordered the camarones diablos for appetizer. Very good. My husband and I shared the Parrillada plate of grilled meats for our meal. The chorizo was a highlight. And the stuffed jalapeño that came with it. It was also steak and chicken and came with rice and beans and tortillas. It was good and we were stuffed. Finished it off with a delicious Mexican coffee! I was so full I could barely finish it. The music was a little too loud and definitely not my taste. More of a club type of vibe. it is very big and there is a lot of seating and we arrived early for our reservation and they seated us right away. It's a nice night out and we didn't feel rushed. Will definitely go back."

"The food was very good, and the restaurant was very aesthetically appealing. However, the service was very slow. We were seated for 25 minutes with no water provided. Waiter was definitely overworked, which made it difficult for him to be attentive to us. Our food was slow to come. Some things were not delivered at all with reminders. It was very warm in the restaurant."

"I made reservations through open table. We arrived and the hostess found my reservation and gave us the option to eat outside which we took. They asked us to give them a few minutes. We sat and waited. We were asked three more times including by the same girl who originally took us in who we were and if we had a reservation. Then the options started over. I pointed out that we had been through this already then we were then seated outside. Waiter was good and friendly. He gave us some recommendations which we took. Guacamole w/ lump crabmeat turned out to be the equivalent of one claw diced to oblivion. You could smell it but could barely see it or taste it. My wife ordered 2 margaritas during her meal. The first was good. The second was nearly or possibly alcohol free. The fajitas were good, but portions were small. The menus were raggedy. Falling apart and had food remnants on them."

"Service was ok. The homemade guacamole is always excellent. The main was just ok. I think they are cutting back on the margaritas which were ok but the glasses were not very full. Frankly I think the place is is not as good as it has been in that past. It’s still ok but not to die for."

"The restaurant is beautiful. Our waiter Allen was very attentive and hands on. Our food took forever to come out but Allen kept checking in and my friend and I were playing catch up that we barely noticed. My nachos were about 40% scorched which was unappetizing. My Mango Margarita was so-so and the shrimp tacos was mediocre. I honestly never come here because the food is overly amazing. I come here to catch up with old friends when you want a setting that is not crowded, you can hear yourself think and the bill isn’t astronomical."

"Service was great on a fairly busy Sunday evening. We sat outside and had a very pleasant dinner after getting back in town tired from a road trop. The chips and queso really hit the spot to start off, and the bell peppers in the fajitas were the best I’ve had (charred but still a little crisp and very flavorful, not all mushy). Waitress was friendly and attentive. Note about some of the bad reviews: Carmel has a bit of a snobby rep. English isn’t everyone’s first language and it takes a lot of work to learn a second language. If you’re polite and keep it simple, I think you’ll find the service is just fine. If you don’t, well, maybe you brought the problem with you."

"Food was good. Service by bartender was great; however the male host and one of the male servers were RUDE! Literally sat our party in an area that had not been cleaned! When asked to move, they ignored us so we moved ourselves to the bar. Upon exiting the dining room, the male server proceeds to ignorantly pester us with a “..goodbye, have a good evening…”; repeating until one of my friends acknowledged and said “…see you soon…”. Absolutely disgusting behavior for restaurant staff. No one in our group was rude or behaved badly. For a “first experience”, not good, but made much better by the bartender…she was awesome!"

"01/14/22 Food is of nice quality. And the service is accommodating and fast but the only real gripe I have is THE PORTIONS. I tried this place because I love in the area and I frequently DoorDash from the establishment, to a point where the employees recognize my face, so I knew it was busy, I also read comments praising their prices. I quickly found out why the prices seem to be impressive, it’s because you really don’t get anything substantial, as far as portion. The photo I took might be at a weird angle and may not appropriately showcase the size but the tacos and mulita I ordered were TINY, at $2.19 for the Mulita and $1.49 per taco I was expecting something akin to El Indo or the local Taqueria/Tiendas I frequent, but I was disappointed, to say the least. You’re better off at El Indio, Veloz or a one of the other local Taquerias if you’re expecting bang for your buck."
