"I initially thought that Downtown Bistro was. no go for vegetarians but on a second look, I realized they have a few options. I wanted the security of a reservation on a Friday night in Hyannis and they had one at 6:30. Cha-Ching. We sat out back to enjoy the summer breeze. Our server took wonderful care of us. I actually ordered my second drink before finishing my first because we've all had that isolation island experience after the food comes and you become a skeleton before anyone checks on you again but she was really on top of making sure we had everything we needed. GF and I both started with their Cape Cod Spritzer with cranberry vodka, Prosecco, and lime juice. This was drier than I usually go for but it was refreshing and got the job done. I ordered a white Zinfandel and I can say their pours give you your money's worth because I was wasted on the walk home lmao. We took full advantage of most of their vegetarian options and elected to share a bunch of ****. We ordered the Rangoon starter which is one of the only vegetarian rangoon I've ever seen on a menu. Crisp dumplings with jalapeño, corn, cream cheese and a curry-esque dipping sauce. We also each ordered a salad, I the mango salad (arugula, mango slices, goat cheese, candied walnuts, mango vinaigrette) and GF the Caesar. The mango salad was DELICIOUS. The peppery arugula and sweet mango and goat cheese was a really interesting flavor profile. I'll also eat candied walnuts and goat cheese on cardboard so that was a nice touch to the salad. GF' Caesar was plentiful and fresh. We also ordered both the Gorgonzola garlic bread which was better than sex: gigantic slices of soft and crispy cheesy-garlicky bread. I'm not a huge fan of Gorgonzola but it didn't have that sharp, pungent flavor I was worried about. Finally, we ordered the penne vodka to share which was just as good as you would expect for that OG dish. Absolutely delicious meal with excellent service."
