"First time trying City Tavern. I had heard good reviews from a coworker. We went for Father's day. We had a reservation for We were seated promptly. Not many there. Server started out ok, but as crowd slowly grew service went down. Although, it was much less of a crowd than most places on a holiday. There wasn't a wait. I ordered the flat iron steak and shrimp and so did my husband . My steak was overcooked and the shrimp were cold and looked and tasted half raw. The meal was supposed to come with a baked potato but was served with fries with no explanation. When I inquired I was told they were out of baked potatoes would I like another side instead. My husband's food was not much better, fortunately he will eat a well done steak with steak sauce. Thank goodness for We ordered dessert to go, the Dirty Vegas, large chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. We had two orders and both cookies were inedible. They were burnt and had a greasy taste. Our kids said their food was ok, cheese pizza and a cajun chicken sandwich. The manager did try to make it right. By the time the waitress checked on us again after we received our food, my children had finished. They took my meal off the bill and gave us one free dessert. I left there over broker and still hungry. Maybe their bar food is ok, just not steak, shrimp or desserts. Will not be trying again any time soon, if ever."
