"We’ve been coming to the Beach Street Bistro for many years and it’s really only one of two restaurants that we visit for an upscale, seafood-centric meal with a stunning view of the sunset. I’ve never had a bad meal and I tend to stick with a selection from the “Just Caught” section of the menu. I’ve had grouper, mahi-mahi, salmon and other types of fish, with all of the various preparations offered on the menu. My favorite is the pecan crusted preparation, but it really depends on the fish. My sister raved about the “grassy key” style preparation during our last visit. We’ve also had the cranberry pecan salad, clam chowder soup, scallop entree, the pork chop, and surf turf. All were delicious. And, of course, the coconut shrimp is a must if you’re visiting Anna Maria Island! You’ll also get fresh bread and butter before the meal, and the entree portions are generous, so no one is going hungry. Finally, the sunset view. We typically call a week in advance to make a reservation for the outside deck. You can’t reserve a table on the deck specifically, but if you get an earlier reservation you’ll be able to request a table outside when you check-in with the host/hostess. We’ve always been able to get a table outside, but it is a small deck (4-5 tables, I believe), so be sure to plan ahead. As you can see from the photos, the view is unbeatable. We’ll be back, every year, during our future vacations!"

"Rustic Vibe, Loaded Tots with a Side of Fruit Flies On a googling whim, I found this eatery in search of large portions and tater tots and could not wait to try their loaded tater tots. Upon entering, I spied a small bar with roughly 5 stools and two sets of dining areas. Simply, it is much larger inside than the outside shows. First, I went here twice within the month, just to see how consistent the service/food was. My first visit was great from the personable server, I forget his name but he was a white male with facial hair. He appeared knowledgeable of the menu and definitely suggested I try the tots. While eating, I battled with a fruit flies to make sure it didn't go into my drink or land in my food. By the way, don't order the margarita. I'd suggest 86ing that item off of the menu, because it tasted like some type of juice and water. After my meal, I walked Grant park to bask in my post-meal bliss. The second time I went, I came with a friend. With my suggestion, she ordered the tots and they were still phenomenal. Our meal came promptly and was hot. I love the spice. Again, we battled with fruit flies. It was kind of a running joke. Was a bit let down by the server, who was not my previous server. Just would like to be checked on more, because we surely wanted to wash down the delicious food with more cocktails. No worries, we chose to walk to a nearby store and grab a few for the house. Honorable mentions: Great freaking Bojack Horseman Piece of Art. Street/Residential Parking Aplenty Affordable Drinks"
