"Second time visitor, last visit in May 2011. This place had been held in very high regard in my mind after an extraordinary experience all those years ago. My wife and I came here for a birthday dinner. The ambiance was just as I remembered. We were sat quickly as we made a reservation. We were promptly greeted by our server who took drink orders and let us know about the specials for the evening. Another table was sat shortly after us (7 10 min? , attended by a different staff member. Drinks arrived at their table and only after asking after our drinks did they arrive, unfortunately a bit watered down in a glass covered with condensation suggesting that these were unfortunately probably forgotten at the bar. We both ordered steaks, the missus, the filet and I, the dry aged ribeye. Mine was cooked perfectly. Wife ordered med rare and received med well and while the server did ask if she wanted a refire on the steak (to which my wife kindly declined , it would have made more sense to insist upon this as an overdone steak makes the difference between an excellent and an above/ok experience. Sides were great bacon jam brussels and the mushrooms. Overall, the experience was good but not great. Given the mismatch of expectations and the cost/travel time, I don't foresee a repeat visit any time soon."
