"A Decent Chain Restaurant. The restaurant layout is such that is cozy, relaxing, and affords some privacy. My wife craved a lemonade. The selection was country style wild berry lemonade with no ice. I went with a glass of their New South Wales sangria. It held it's own. A small loaf of bread given by Outback Steakhouse is fresh and tasty. The menu emphasizes meat. You can find some piscatorial plates on the menu that are quite good. We went straight to the entrées after ordering our libations. It is Friday again, meaning a fish day. My spouse picked tilapia with pure lump crab meat which is accompanied by mixed vegetables. This dish was very good although the tilapia was a shade done beyond our liking. Tilapia needs to have a litter shimmer while the flesh is opaque, indicating both moisture and having been cooked throughout the fillet. I selected the sesame salad with ahi tuna. The seared ahi was sliced into nearly paper thin slices. The darker than blood red pieces just melted away upon contact with the tongue. The salad appeared pedestrian, even with sliced almonds atop. The sesame vinaigrette was dynamic, invigorating the entire salad. This recently added menu dish is a winner. I was leery of choosing such a dish in a meat-centric chain restaurant. The gamble paid dividends. Dessert was an ice cream concoction that our waitress had suggested. It was Baskin-Robbins sweet and a fitting meal's end."

"I have been wanting to try The Rustic for a while, and I decided to stop in for brunch with a girlfriend on Saturday. I was extremely disappointed with my experience. To start with the positive, there was someone performing covers of popular songs and he was excellent. It really added to the meal, and though it was a little loud as we were seated near the stage, I loved it! The parking lot is also very large, which is uncommon for this area of Dallas. The eggs migas were AMAZING! The negative (and reason for my rating) is everything else. When our server, who was friendly, came to take our orders, we asked if there could be substitutions made for the family-style brunch as one of us was vegetarian. We weren 't looking to sub out dishes for ones off the regular menu, but possibly get two of another dish instead of the fried chicken or bacon. He told us no, the chefs would not allow for any substitutions unless there were allergies. We said ok, no worries because we didn 't want to be difficult and I assumed there would still be enough to eat based off the menu. When our plates came out, despite letting our server know I was vegetarian, the french toast and bacon were sitting in the same place and touching. I somewhat understand not being able to make substitutions, but they couldn 't use an extra plate to separate the meat from the vegetarian dishes? The avocado toast was the equivalent of avocado spread on a cracker with seasoning. It was so small (pictured), it could be eaten in one bite. The potatoes were dry and unenjoyable. The jicama salad was decent, but nothing too notable. I could only eat half the dishes, and I left the restaurant hungry. I understand that making accommodations is not ideal for any restaurant, but I also believe it is part of prioritizing customer satisfaction. I can 't recommend The Rustic to anyone who may have any dietary preferences or special requests, as they will not be addressed or accommodated."
