"This place really helped me adjust. I later learned that people gravitate towards certain bars, and I found my favorites, especially those with live music like Birchmere, Black Cat, 9:30 Club, Lincoln, Capital One Arena, and even the now-closed O'Shaughnessy's and Rock & Roll Hotel. One of my most memorable experiences was running into Rory Sheridan on one of my first visits. He was launching his DC music campaign back then and was part of Loud Boyz. We chatted a few times, and I even caught up with some old classmates. Another highlight was when I heard about a “reunion” night before Thanksgiving, and I decided to crash it. There were moments where people could be unkind or I felt out of place, but I was given some guidance on where I would fit in better, without the unnecessary drama. Being in Old Town, I was familiar with nearby schools like West Potomac, Mount Vernon, and Bishop Ireton. During my visits, I would often take an Alexandria cab or use Metro Access, being discreet about my disability since I felt embarrassed at times. Being a regular meant navigating the tourist scene, and there were people who seemed territorial about the place, but I ended up doing quite well when I sold my house. Good times continued with events like watching RG3 play for the Redskins or meetups organized by JT. I enjoyed New Year’s celebrations and weekend outings. I also frequented other establishments like Flying Fish before it closed, and O'Shaughnessy's before I decided to stop drinking. This is a sports bar located near a bicycle shop, close to the Ben & Jerry's I used to work at, along with many other walkable bars for bar hopping, like Union Street Pub and Fish Market. It can be a great place to have fun, but with the good comes some downsides. Overall, I felt well-hosted and respected here, despite some things I was not initially aware of or didn’t want to uncover."

"I FINALLY was able to come here for dinner because of the fact that they are always busy when I come and they try to seat reservations as quickly as possible. This isn't a con, it's just a testament to how good they are (but it can be a con if yourstomach is eating it's insides ???? . When we were seated we had a couple of cocktails a Dirty Martini and an Old Fashionedand they were well made. We took our time to have a few courses. We started with the 50/50 Meatballs and then the Z House Salad. The meatballs were so delicious, tender and full of flavor some of the best I've ever had! The Z House Salad on the other handwas a bit of a disappointment. For the salad to be a restaurant special it wasn't a wow and could've used a sweet kick to it toadd that pow it needed. We had the Lobster Ravioli next and it was amazing. The ravioli was cooked perfectly al dente and thePomtom sauce was to die for this was the best part of the meal. We also had the New York White Pie and it was really good, nottoo over done or flimsy (if that makes sense . For dessert we had Espresso Martinis and the Bananas Foster. The Bananas Fosterwas really soft and gooey and I liked it (granted the other person with me didn't enjoy it as much as I did because she felt thebanana was too overpowering . The Espresso Martinis could've had more espresso in them because it did taste too sweet, like ithad too much Kahlua. The restaurant itself was really cute, nicely decorated. The restrooms were clean as well. I woulddefinitely go back to try a few other dishes because I had a good time and except for a few small cons, they were overall reallygood."

"Great thing the service was amazing because the food left much to be desired, unfortunately. We just moved to the area and couldn’t wait to find what we were hoping would be our new seafood go-to. Everything we ordered was pretty much a let down. I debated between a 3 and 4 overall rating, because the food was a solid 2. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t really that good. Calamari was decent, but we weren’t big fans of any of the 3 dipping sauces. The Caesar salad we started with was bland. Watery dressing and mostly iceberg lettuce. The lobster Mac and cheese was ok, but the cheese sauce left a strange aftertaste we couldn’t quite put our finger on. Finally, what we thought would be the star—Parmesan crusted sole—was hardly edible. It was almost burnt and I couldn’t taste any fish. Perhaps a thin cut like this isn’t best with the batter. The sauce served with it was tasty, so it’s too bad the fish didn’t work. Mashed potatoes were pretty good, but the broccoli had zero seasoning. The atmosphere here is awesome, we loved the vibes, especially the bar area. Our server, (Austin I think.. , was amazing. Extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and a hustler. He seemed to genuinely enjoy his job. Oh and my margarita was strong—totally worth the $5! (On special Good news is that they have a huge menu, so we will undoubtedly be back to try other things, and hopefully change update our review with another star!"
