"I visited this restaurant for lunch recently on a whim because I remembered they used to offer bay scallops, which are hard to find at many places. We didn’t realize until we got there that the restaurant had changed ownership, but since we were already seated, we decided to make the best of it. The menu featured a mix of seafood and some Asian dishes (no bay scallops, of course), and nothing really stood out as appealing. There was a good lunch special advertised on a board outside, but when we sat down, we were given the regular menu instead of the lunch special menu. Apparently, you have to ask for that! I overheard another table mentioning they were out of crab (I think), and the waitress suggested lobster as an alternative. Unfortunately, the service was lacking; when we asked about the dessert options included with the lunch special, she simply replied, "You’ll have to wait and see." I ended up ordering the General Tso’s chicken, which was crispy but incredibly dry—mostly breading and hardly any sauce, quite disappointing. The New England clam chowder tasted more like a watery potato soup than the rich dish I was expecting. The only item that seemed to please anyone at the table was the fried shrimp. For dessert, our options were ice cream or tiramisu. I opted for the tiramisu, even though I’m not a big fan, as I wasn’t in the mood for ice cream. I won’t comment on whether it was a good version or not since I didn’t really enjoy it. Overall, I have no interest in returning to this restaurant."

"The waitress was wonderful, had me laughing my head off when I asked her what the chalk drawing was about. She said the owner drew it, it was supposed to be Death holding Covid 19 in its hand. It was approaching a guy enjoying himself while tubing and drinking. If you think about it, it 's hilarious. This guy is just sitting in his tube, floating, drinking, and along comes Death walking in the water up to his waist and approaches this guy, like Hey, you there, having a good time? Well, not anymore! I thought it was very, very funny. Anyway, she gave us a free beer when she figured out she had misunderstood our drink order. The menu lists two types of Sam Adams beers, but she insisted they only had one type. We didn 't argue, but later on after she waited on another table who ordered the same thing, she realized what she had done and brought us the beer we 'd wanted, explaining she 'd had some brain fog or something. The vegetarian pizza was really, really good, but my pasta with oil and garlic was dry. Didn 't have enough oil or garlic. But the garlic bread was very good, and the waitress even made sure to tell me it was made with oil and not butter, since I 'm vegan and she had inquired ahead of time good for her! You don 't usually encounter such thoughtful and considerate waitstaff. We could have sat outside, but it was too windy for me, so we had a nice time watching the local news on the indoor tvs. All in all, a very nice time. I hope you get this great waitress when you 're there, and get that tasty vegetarian pizza!"

"We started with the broth plate, which included honey and strawberry rolls, and unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. The rolls felt like they came straight from the budget broth section—essentially heated up and served without any special touch. Two members of our party ordered the lazy lobster and absolutely loved it. Our children chose the grilled shrimp and hanger steak, and both seemed satisfied with their choices, which is commendable since they can be quite picky. As for my dish, I ordered the fisherman’s stew, and it was disappointing for several reasons. The mussels were poorly prepared and tasted quite off. I rarely complain about food, often saying, “I’ll eat anything,” but those mussels were unacceptable. I would never order that stew again, especially not for $33. The scallops were overcooked, and the tomato broth felt bland and lacked depth, overwhelmed with fennel. A sprinkle of salt and pepper helped a bit, but it wasn’t enough to save it. On a positive note, the baguette was delicious. We heard rave reviews about the blueberry cake from the table beside us and were excited to order it, but it was served with a mousse instead of ice cream—no vanilla option. We were hoping for something sweet to round out our meal. Overall, with some careful planning and strategic ordering, you might have a nice experience here. However, it’s frustrating to navigate this when the bill comes to $185 for five people and doesn't include drinks or dessert."
