"First impression when I got to this place was, should I bring my pepper spray? . Once going inside we had to pay a cover of $40 per person. I thought it was too much. The cover was to be paid only in cash but conveniently the owner has her own atm. After paying $80 for hubby and I we sat at our choice if table. The seats were very uncomfortable and really outdated. We asked for the menu and we noticed the food was not too expensive. We ordered the molcajete which had 5 burned shrimps, some overcooked fajitas meat and hard overcooked chicken. They brought us rice and beans and they were gross too. I only took a night if each thing to taste it but I did not continue eating it because it wasnt good. I ordered a margarita presidente and my hubby a Buchanan on the rocks. We didn 't enjoy that either because the margarita was all syrup and a little liquor and the Buchanan was served in a plastic cup with too much ice. I didn 't finish my margarita because again, it was gross. The table service was bad too. We had to look for the waitress to get water to remove the nasty taste of everything and when we finally got her attention she brought $3 bottled water. No cup, no ice, just the bottle. The only thing we enjoyed was the comedians. They were funny but I didn 't not like the fact that they pressure customers to tip them and buy them drinks. Very tacky if you ask me. The whole experience felt more like them trying to make the most money possible with out investing or giving something good in return. I will only go back if I know a good comedian goes but I will stop to eat and drink somewhere else."

"If I could give them negative stars I would! We've been wanting to try this place and finally had the time. We arrived at 2:30pm. I am very specific about the time because we were being mindful as we had an appointment later. There were 2 tables seated outside when we arrived and no one seated inside. We sat inside. We ordered a pitcher of sangria $35 for juice) that took forever to get. Mean while several couples/groups started to arrived. We commented that we came at a good time so service shouldn't take forever. When she brought the sangria she took our order. We ordered tacos and enchiladas. Nothing too complicated. We noticed at about 3:05 that EVERYONE else was receiving food but us. We inquired. The male server acted as if he had no clue what was going on. So we just asked for the check for our drinks. No one ever even came by to see why. Our server never came back to our table and didn't even attempt to make eye contact or inquire about why we were leaving. A new server who had just walked in asked if we were ok. But at that point we had already paid. No one cared to even attempt to apologize or explain.Disappointed is an understatement!!!Can't even rate the food because after 30-40 add the time it took for us to pay the check) we were not able to receive it.I could speculate on the reasons why. But what's the point. The place wasn't even busy. Especially when we first got there. Maybe that should have been our sign!"

"I normally don 't write reviews unless my experience was extremely positive or extremely negative. Unfortunately La Lupita was a big disappointment as I was recommended by a co-worker. When I came in, I was met with nasty glares instead of a warm welcome by the two young servers almost as if I didn 't belong there. An older white couple came in after me and were greeted warmly and had there orders taken right away while I had to wait over 5 mins just for lemon for my water. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup and wings to start. The soup was more like chicken soup that they added tortillas on top of. If they ran out of the tortilla soup, it would have been better to just let me know instead of bringing that out. I 'm a big Mexican foodie so I definitely know the difference. The wings were Luke warm when they came out as if they 'd been sitting there for a while. I then ordered a quesadilla but asked for peppers, jalapeños, and onions in the quesadilla my server made it a point to nastily point out that it 's going to be extra as if I couldn 't afford it. I was charged extra and only had peppers in my quesadilla. I asked for a box to take my food and the waitress drops off the check and proceeds to go eat with her coworkers instead of processing my payment. I had to have another waitress do it. I definitely felt the negative vibes towards me being that I 'm a young black female meanwhile the white customers were treated with a lot more respect and positivity. I still paid and tipped because of my etiquette but this is the first and last time la lupita will get my business nor any of my close contacts business. I hope that going forward your staff learns to treat every customer equally instead of passing prior judgement."
