"I really want to leave this place a higher rating. The food is Tasty! And this is one of the only opportunities to experience Haitian cuisine in the area. Its the overall experience getting the food that’s the issue. 1. It seems every time I want to give 509 a chance they don’t have the dish I want to order or they ran out. 2. The wait time is Excessive. To get around this on my last visit, I placed an order for pick up AN HOUR before I was in the area and that’s about how long it took before it was ready. 3. Im also trying to figure out who are the customers they are targeting with the small serving of rice that comes standard with the meal? Traditionally, Haitian/Caribbean food comes with a much larger serving of rice. Overall, their inconsistency just poses too many inconveniences to the overall customer service experience. I look forward to an opportunity to updating this review with better experiences at 509. "

"We had high expectations for our meal, but unfortunately, the food fell short of its description. What was supposed to be tender cubes of beef turned out to be mushy vegetables mixed with minced meat and bones. The jerk wings were served ice-cold and had a bizarre aftertaste that left me needing to rinse my mouth out. To top it all off, the plantains were hard and completely lacking in seasoning, leading us to finally give up on our meal. Overall, it was overpriced and disappointing."

"I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I ordered a large turkey stew, but instead received two small pieces of meat that looked like leftovers from someone else's meal. There was no salad and only a small portion of rice. The turkey looked so unappetizing that I had to throw it away. I will not be returning to this restaurant again."

"Okay first off..... WOW. I will be the first to admit I didn't think I'd like this food.. and boy was I wrong. Badou Senegalese was the only option for food during the Jauz Block Party event this weekend at Plumbers Hall in the west loop. We weren't sure if this is what we were in the mood for, but we were starving. I'm SO glad we gave this place a shot!! To split, me and my friend ordered the Jerk Chicken, Plantains, and some fried goodness that included a veggie Boulette and a meat filled Pastel. OMG. We devoured this plate.. everything was so flavorful. The jerk chicken.. now my friend does not like spicy foods but she also could not stop eating this! The plantains were a little cold but we were eating this supppper late, and they were still tasty. The boulette... was incredible. This may sound weird but I kept saying it tasted like minestrone soup, but in fried ball form. The description might not be great, but the meal was. Overall... I will definitely not be skipping out next time I see this place at an event. If I'm in the area too I will definitely be stopping in to try some more items!"

"The food is fine and flavorful, and I can 't help but appreciate the work they do in Haiti (they have a picture of the school they sponsor on the front counter), but it 's nowhere good enough to justify the absolutely abysmal customer service. Be prepared to listen to people in the lobby getting increasingly angry as they come to terms with the mistake they made of ordering from this place. My favorite story was when my wife and I, at the beginning of an hour+ road trip back from Rhode Island, jokingly decided that we should call ahead to place our order because we knew the wait times were so horrible. No joke, we still had to wait 45 minutes when we got to the restaurant. That 's nearly 2 hours for these people to make some rice and beans. Another time I was waiting for about an hour in the lobby to get my food and when it finally came both the employee and I forgot that I had to pay, so I left. When I got home and realized this, I called and told the lady who answered that I 'd be by shortly to correct that. She said I 'm waiting and hung up the phone lol. These people are only in business because Brockton is an absolute wasteland for decent food. If there was any competition they would have gone out of business a long time ago."

"Went to Chloe’s for the first time.I give them a 3 star because the food was okay. I got there at 9pm and the security guard at the door asked me to pay $20 to get in , I said I didn’t know I had to pay to go have dinner with my family, when he saw that I was walking away with my mom ,and cousin he called us to come back. I think that was ridiculous for a restaurant to ask people to pay just to go in. I dnt normally go to Haitian restaurant because, their customer service is so bad. I’m in town, and wanted to spend time with my Mom I know she would enjoy our cultural food better than American food that was the only reason I go there. The food was good but customer service was not great I tipped the waitress well because, she was pleasant. She did not ask once if the food was okay, she also got my Mom order wrong brought the source on the table. And we had to wait 30mins for the wrong rice to come. I only went their because of my mother if it’s for me they will not see me again. This place is way to loud, and needs better customer service, and please stop asking people to pay just to go eat. If you have a club fine but do not identify yourself as a restaurant, and than asking for people to pay just to go inside your restaurant. Not everyone wants to party some people just want to enjoy dinner with their love ones. It was 9pm that music does not need to be this loud ridiculous. And the plantains was over cooked by the way. I ate everything but the fry plantain the good food is not enough for me to go back. Needs better customer service for me, and to loud."

"never again. that wasn't her night, but after all, they won't get another chance. order: meatloaf, 3 pages (Mac/Käse, Hashbrown-Cass, greenbeans). a few minutes later (this is about 8 a.m. on a Monday), we are out of fleshy ok, we go with fried cats. when the food is served, we make some Mac/cheese; it will be direct, I ate slowly, never arrived. they called the manager; they took it from the bill. pay: our system is due to the rain, they have cash really, how can they work with this bad service, planning? and by the way, the fish and hashbrowns were not even hot."

"we tried swad on Sunday for a late lunch. for $12,50 a person, we had some very good food. there are two large rooms with many tables. we sat immediately and our server took our drink order. the buffet takes up a few walls in a room. there were some suppening that for salad and many immersing sauces. the samosas were the best I had. the pakora was good. it was a bit like falafel, but not so delicious. the chicken marsala was creamy, buttery and tasty. the biryani was good, but included pieces of bone-in huhn, of which I was not fan. the Tandori chicken was good and the tandori mixed grill was delicious including sausage, onions...more"

"I have been eating Marie’s Griot since 1977-78 when she was cooking out of her house and my brother and I would play with her kids. BEST GRIOT IN MIAMI PERIOD! Excellent food! Don’t bother projecting your privilege by expecting to get your a kissed here. Come here for quality authentic Haitian food in generous portions. Anything else , go somewhere else and stop leaving bad reviews based on your expectations from other types of restaurants. Madame John’s griot is the reason we drive all the way from South Dade, and have NEVER found better griot anywhere else in Miami."

"I stopped by this morning on July 4th to grab some donuts, and I was the only customer in the shop. The woman at the counter noticed me when I entered but then went to the back and didn’t come back out. After waiting for a while, I rang the bell for assistance, but there was still no response, so I decided to leave. The service was awful—if you're open, you should be ready to serve customers. Unfortunately, this isn’t my first disappointing experience here. As someone who works in customer service, I believe that customers should always be a priority, but that doesn’t seem to be the case at this restaurant. It feels like a management issue, and if things don’t change, the owner will need to take responsibility. If this pattern continues, they might want to consider closing the shop, as this employee is hurting the business. Happy 4th of July!"
