"I went to eat lunch with my wife around 1pm on Saturday, June 17th. I got there first and I was seated at the corner table where the AC was right above blasting out. My ears were getting so cold so I asked the hostess Andrea if I could move to another table because the restaurant was about 1/3 full but she said straight NO so then I asked her if she could turn the AC down and she said NO to that as well. Thats when I asked Andrea that I wanted to speak with the manager and she said ok. I was waiting and waiting and one server came and asked me if i wanted to order so i told her i need to change the table so can you please call the manager and she said ok. But Jeff who was the manager on duty that day just stood around and never came to speak to me. I was waiting for about 10 mins then the server came to move me to another table and I met Jeff on my way to the new table. I asked him why he didn 't come to my table when I wanted to speak with him and I was calm. Check the camera. Then he asked me to calm down and I 'm like what?!?!? I am calm don 't worry about that I 'm here to enjoy my lunch with my wife. Then he lied to me saying that no one told him that I wanted to speak with a manager. He went on talking to me like he did nothing wrong and showed no apology. Why is Jeff so rude and not speaking with the customers when he is asked to. I mean the restaurant was barely 1/3 full. Then later, the server or the chef forgot my wonton noodle family size soup so I had to cancel it at the end. The dining experience was horrible and I don 't think I will come back because of Jeff. He does not deserve to work as a manager because he is not professional, unfriendly, rude, and does not know how to treat customers properly or nicely. Food was ok because some dishes tasted good and some was not so good like dry."

"It would be unwise to dine at Hong Bao Restaurant expecting the serving and prices to be comparable to a Panda Express, for example. i know some do. Hong Bao is not comparable to the corner Chinese take out restaurant. I was finally able to try this restaurant yesterday. There was a line of folks trying to get a table but since I had made a reservation, I was seated immediately. Immediately, I was struck by the impressive architecture and interior design. The seats, the tables, the tea set, the interior decor, all of it felt modern and rich. We ordered the Salt and Pepper Soft Shell crabs, Shanghai Braised Pork Belly and Garlic Snow Pea Leaves. We were amazed to get our order in less than 20 minutes. We have never seen Garlic Snow Peas Leaves on a menu before so of course we tasted that first. It was delicious. It definitely tasted garlicky but the freshness of the snow pea leaves made it delightful. Next we tried the soft shell crab. We love this dish but often, it is overcooked. But not here at Hong Bao. But was perfect. Salty, peppery and crunchy. Finally, the Shanghai braised pork. The menu described it to be served with a tangy sauce but I found the sauce to be more soy-saucy which I liked. The pork was easy to slice even with just the fork. Exactly how braised pork is supposed to. All in all, it was a fantastic meal. Service by Ayu (short for a rather long Balinese name) was splendid. The venue was great and the food was tasty. It was on the pricy side but then again, I was not expecting Panda Express either."
