"I hate leaving bad reviews for popular places, but sometimes it's needed to help business owners be better. While this place seems like a local favorite, our experience was not good. First, as a food business owner myself, this place seems poorly managed. The very young bartenders are sweet but they didn't even know how some drinks are made. One of them totally went to town on the bitters in my old fashioned. I have never seen anyone do that. I don't blame them there was absolutely no management to speak of here except some woman sitting at the bar with friends they kept turning to. If she is the owner or manager she should be ashamed of herself. She kept barking orders but they obv. needed training and guidance. She was ordering drinks for her friends while the staff was at a complete loss what to do. The staff seemed overwhelmed, confused and near a breaking point. The ordering system is chaotic as well. They need at least one to two more bartenders, another hostess and an overhaul of their processes. I probably could let all that slide if the food was decent, but it really was not impressive. It was bar food quality and not supper club quality. The fried fish lacked any flavor. Moreover, who leaves tartar sauce on the table all day? It's a mayonnaise product. Will it harm us? I guess we will see. Then our bread had a slice of onion on it is this a local tradition or something? None of our party of 5 wanted to eat a slice of marble bread with a raw onion on it. For such a small dining room you would think service would be better but our server didn't greet us for 20 minutes when she brought our food out. I just didn't get why it was so packed. Maybe the bar was packed because there were too many open tables in the dining room. My son manages a bar and was appalled at their processes here. At least put some sports on the TV, food network doesnt work for most. I guess it works for them, but for visitors like me I won't repeat this poor experience. I can't recommend paying $20 to $40 a head for such an underwhelming experience. Experience is everything."

"Loveeeeee! This bakery has so many options: cookies, breads, scones, rolls, and more. I've been here a couple times, but I still feel like there's so much left to try. They even have some vegan options, which are clearly labeled. This place is about a 5 minute walk from BART. It has seating both inside and outside. Most recently, I decided to try their pizza. I am a Sliver and Cheeseboard fan, so I was excited. Arizmendi has the same concept of serving only one kind of pizza per day. I ordered half a pizza. We had to wait a few minutes, but it still came out pretty quickly. The pizza was given to us in two warm foil packets and each contained two slices and a sliver. I thought it was an interesting way to serve a half pizza. I'm not sure if they always do it like this because it's easier to carry or if they knew that our group had two people. The pizza of the day had broccolini on it. I was skeptical, but it ended up tasting good! The pizza was salty and flavorful. It was similar to Sliver and Cheeseboard, but the crust seemed different and the toppings were unique. We also got a blueberry and strawberry scone, pecan roll, and cheese potato focaccia. The scone was buttery and flaky. The berries provided nice sweetness and acidity. Very yum! The pecan roll was sticky and sweet. You might like this if you like sweets like cinnamon rolls. The focaccia was okay. I think the potato was too much. I didn't like the texture or taste on top of the thick sourdough focaccia. Might just be personal preference though. I know some people who love bread or pizza topped with potato.Really tasty baked goods. I will definitely be back!"
