"Governor's Restaurant Bakery Bangor: A Disgraceful Experience Marred by Racism I recently visited the Governor's Restaurant Bakery in Bangor, ME, with my 83 year old father and a friend. We were excited to try this local establishment, but our experience was marred by blatant racism. From the moment we entered, we were treated differently than other patrons. The waitress, Becky, was rude and dismissive, refusing to take our order while readily attending to other customers. It was clear that our skin color was the issue, as we were the only non white people in the restaurant. When we brought this to the manager's attention, they offered no explanation or apology for Becky's behavior. Instead, they simply took our order themselves, further highlighting the discriminatory treatment we received. This incident left a sour taste in our mouths and ruined what should have been a pleasant meal. My father, who is elderly and deserves respect, was deeply affected by this experience. I cannot in good conscience recommend Governor's Restaurant Bakery in Bangor to anyone. Their staff's blatant racism and the management's lack of response demonstrate a complete disregard for basic human decency and respect. Response to Owner's comment: Mr. Clay I want to thank you for offering to get in touch with me via email. I truly appreciate your efforts to address the concerns I raised. While I understand your point, about the company's stance against discrimination I need to stress that my visit to your Bangor branch was marred by acts of discrimination. Both my father and I were treated differently because of our race. We were ignored by the waitress, Becky, who served customers without hesitation. This kind of treatment made us feel embarrassed and deeply hurt. I see that you are willing to look into this matter which's a step forward. However I urge you to investigate the conduct of your staff and the overall atmosphere at the Bangor establishment. Its disheartening to hear that you claim no knowledge of incidents since it directly contradicts not my experience but also those shared by other people of color online. I am open, to removing my review after 24 hours if you take this issue seriously and conduct an investigation."

"Trebeache is one of our local favorites. The food and service are usually very good to exceptional. On Sunday, Oct, Trebeache was sponsoring a Sunday brunch as part of a Blue Crab Fest The food and menu items were good but the service was exceptionally slow and not up to the normal standard. They simply did not have enough wait staff on for this busy event. Again, that is very unusual for this solid restaurant. We talked to the manager and he apologized for what he knew was slow service and some cold food items that made their way to the table. We will return again. We consider this an anomaly. Trebeache is a place that we really enjoy"

"I had not been to this restaurant in seven years. I was hoping for a more affordable experience. The food and service were excellent. However, when I received my final bill, a 20% gratuity had already been included by the management. That was not cool. I was planning to leave a 20% tip anyway, but I would have liked the option to decide on the amount myself. There was no mention of an automatic gratuity anywhere in the restaurant. Not cool!"

"We have been to Clear Sky multiple times. One of the reasons for our return is the extensive menu. It is eaay to find something of your liking. We enjoyed the food the prior times and it is located near the hotel where we were staying. Once again, it was an enjoyable experience. We each started with a side salad which were a good size and made of fresh greens and other veggies. Orange vinigarette dressing was very good. We each got a fish entree, my husband had grouper and I had salmon. My salmon had a ginger soy glaze, giving it a nice added flavor. It came with asparagus and jasmine rice. The grouper was pan seared with spinach, small tomatoes and beurre blanc sauce. He stated it was flavorful. Our server was attentive and helpful with questions. My only critique would be of the slightly above average noise level, mostly due to the size of the indoor dining area and the live music outside, with door open.It was however, not enough of an issue to keep us from returning. I would recommend the rstaurant."

"Marco’s is our favorite spot to stop with our dog for a delicious meal at any time of day. The Huevos Rancheros are fantastic, but the real highlight is the dinner specials. While the specials are a bit pricier than the usual entrees—expect to spend at least $20 per person—they are absolutely worth it. Today, we enjoyed the cattle short ribs along with fish and chips, and surprisingly, the fish outshone many we’ve had in other regions this season. Our server, Mariana, was AMAZING—I can't say enough good things about her. She even brought our pup some water and was attentive to everything else we needed. Her wonderful service and warm personality truly made our experience even more special."

"I visited this restaurant for the first time last weekend and I really loved the food. The crab cake benedict was absolutely delicious. It did take about 45 minutes for our food to arrive after we placed our order (we ordered the benedict and a basic breakfast platter with eggs, bacon, and pancakes), but it seemed like they were short staffed and very busy. The quality of the food more than made up for the wait, but just be aware that there may be a wait during weekend breakfast hours."

"My experience at 6smith was great! I, along with family and friends went for my Birthday dinner. Arrived on time for our reservation, waited 5-10 min for our table and were seated to left of entry. We ordered drinks and appetizers, waited 15 min for the drinks to be brought out, then ordered food. 15 min later our amazing food came along with the appetizer (which we were expecting before food, “oh well” , and the servers were very informative and knowledgeable. They explained the specials in detail, along with their opinion, which we all appreciated! Over all Great experience. The next day our server called me personally and asked for feedback, I work in customer service and that’s what I call going above and beyond, thanks 6Smith and Lacey! I will definitely be back!"

"Cafe Madison created a beautiful new space since their move/renovation. The decor is modern and comfortable, with big open spaces and a full bar. Unfortunately my experience with the food was extremely disappointing. The Nashville Hot Breakfast burrito was the worst brunch food I can remember. It consisted of thin, over-fried, extremely dry chicken, fried potatoes, eggs, and undetectable amount of cheese. They smear the top of burrito with hot sauce and ranch. The chicken is not 'nashville hot ', it 's the same chicken strips served with their chicken and french toast dish. It was folded more like a 'wrap ' than a burrito, with the dry chicken tearing holes in the tortilla. The same fried potatoes that make up the majority of the burrito are also served as the side. I 'll probably give Cafe Madison another try with hopes that the rest of their menu is less awful. Service was friendly and relatively quick. But overall the experience was not worth the 45 minute wait for a table at 11am on a Sunday. (No reservations, cant add your name to a list online)"

"The bag was securely fastened, and the drinks were wrapped in clear plastic for safety. The omelette was massive, and the grilled cheese was delicious, paired with large, crispy curly fries. My only complaint is that the side options are limited to grits or oatmeal, neither of which I enjoy. This is my second time ordering from this restaurant, and the quality has been consistently excellent. I'm definitely going to make this place a favorite!"

"Surprisingly uncrowded on a summer Saturday evening at 7PM our party of six was seated at a long table directly under an air conditioning vent, not a good start, even on a summer evening. It was freezing. Service was prompt, and it was easy to carry on a conversation as there weren't many people at the nearby bar -it was quite- a nice surprise. But the food! I had corned beef and cabbage, a traditional Irish dish. The menu read Roasted Corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrots. The corned beef rather than in slices of brisket came in 1 inch chunks together with pieces of potato and carrots and a couple of thick slabs of cabbage. The dish had an overall oily consistency, and whatever they did to it you could barely taste that it was corned beef, the major clue though that it was was the color. The cabbage totally devoid of taste. Less typical of pub food was the ahi tuna salad said not to be very good, but one vegetarian loved the very burger (with cheese). We will not be back."

"The Chicken Cordon Bleu Crêpe was fantastic! It definitely deserves 5 stars for the crêpe, salad, and potatoes that accompanied it. All of their crêpes are delightful, including the breakfast options. The Philly Cheesesteak was also very good. However, the appetizer combo was just average; the mozzarella sticks and chicken strips were a bit dry and overcooked, while the fries and onion rings were decent. They didn’t provide any sauces or condiments for the appetizers, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, I’ll definitely be returning for the breakfast and crêpes!"

"Cindy’s is my all time favorite spot in all of yolo and sacramento county. Breakfast is to die for, lunch and dinner are delicious. The staff is the best in town. Liz, Earth, and of course Jerry are all funny, kind, and very wholesome hosts. Service is always fast and friendly. The coolest part about Cindy’s is that they serve both thai and american diner food, both of which are fantastic! Nothing beats getting a thai tea with your breakfast, but if you really want a specialty treat, ask for the yellow curry omlet, with chicken ! Its amazing ?!Some other great breakfast favorites of mine are: the Breakfast burger, chicken fried steak, Eggs benedict, and the french toast! Pad thai and yellow curry are on point for lunch/ dinner?!"

"I made a mistake and somehow gave my neighbors address instead of mine for contactless delivery. After an hour and a half of waiting and not receiving an email from Slice informing us that there was an attempt to deliver our food, I called Logan’s, and they said that the delivery person waited 20 minutes and left the food. Well, they lied, and Instead of leaving it at my neighbor's door, they took our order and resold it. When they resold the pizza, the Slice app continued to say “out for delivery.” Not only that, but my neighbors confirmed that the delivery person waited less than 10 mins. I called Logan’s pizza back and explained to them what my neighbor told me. The man was rude and had an attitude talking over me after I acknowledged and confirmed that the order had the wrong address but that I selected the leave at the door option and that they should’ve left the pizza at the door, he kept stating, “oh but who was it that put in the wrong address? Yeah yeah, that’s what I thought. Talk to Slice. That’s not our problem.” We had prepaid for our food and even gave the driver a 25% tip. Fortunately, Slice did refund us but Logan's pizza stole my money and lied to me. I have never had food from here before and was excited to get our order because it sounds delicious but 100% will not be ordering from here again, especially when they have someone working there who doesn't know how to treat people with respect.I checked all of the reviews and found plenty of other people have experienced the same poor customer service and rude tactics by this facility. Please save your money and order from somewhere else. The picture I posted is not a reply to my review but from another dissatisfied customer. Logan's response to Lauren M’s review says it all. Also what is with all the grammar errors, numerous misspelled words, and beligiant tone from Logan's response. Lol. Unprofessional doesn't begin to describe this business."

"For sure I wanted to like this Andersonville restaurant and there's certainly good things about it. If looking for burgers or something vegan they have both covered on the menu. Lady Gregory's is a pretty nice looking place and has a noticeable but not overpowering hipster atmosphere. As such, it's reflected in the menu costs. This is another review complaining about prices. Came with a few others and got some drinks and food. I had to limit myself after seeing the prices. The stuff was good but not that good though. It's about $12 for the cheapest cocktails. That wasn't surprising. About average for around here. I got the Cinnamon Apple Tart. Basically it's like hard apple cider. This is made with elderflower, lemon, and your choice of whiskey. Good idea but poor execution. It seemed kind of weak. As for the food, it was even more expensive. There's lots of meat and some plant based options. I got the Impossa Burger. It's $18 but thankfully it was bigger than I expected. Then there were more fees on top of this. Of course tax, but also a credit card transaction fee. This place takes care to nickel and dime its customers, and if you get delivery then surprise, that's another few bucks on top. Got to say the drinks and food aren't that bad. It has a pretty large selection of beers, liquor, and wines, and some are actually pretty affordable at times. The food menu is even more expensive, but there's a few choices for vegans and vegetarians."

"We waited 25 minister being seated and no one came to the table. When she finally approached the table it was to say she would be back to take drink orders after she finished with another table. Finally a young man came to the table took our drink orders and then our dinner order. He was awesome. The service started off horrible but ended up being great. I had fried haddock and it needed seasoning and it was dry. The chips were very good. My side salad was mainly iceberg lettuce and about 4 pieces of tomato. Others said their food was really good. I think maybe an off night but definitely would try again."

"This place is a GEM! We had a mommy and daughter date and stopped by here as we happened to be in the area. What a very nice dinner! She had the Jr. Pasta with Red Sauce and I had the Pasta Primavera. We also ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and these were delicious and ooey gooey pull apart cheesy! Our server, Francie, was AMAZING! They even have a “brown bag lunch” special for dining there the night before (takes the ease off packing school lunch for parents for a day! . She was very happy with her Polly’s lunch as they have various options depending on what you like we went with a PB&J, goldfish crackers, strawberries, and a cookie. We left with full bellies and smiles. My little one made sure to give our servers hugs on the way out! We will be back again "

"I wasn't sure what to expect when my friend chose this restaurant for our meet up, but I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was. I had the boozy burger, which was cooked perfectly to medium and incredibly juicy and tasty. The smoked cheddar Mac and cheese side dish was amazing and the fries were cooked to perfection, perfectly salted and seasoned. Lastly, we tried the bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream, which I highly recommend to anyone visiting this place."
