"It was my first time eating here I did a pick up order of: fried ravioli, pepperoni rolls, chicken parmesan with spaghetti marinara tiramisu. I enjoyed everything except for the tiramisu. "We had a wonderful dining experience! The food was fantastic, especially the subs, though I wish there had been a bit more cheese. We tried the pizza, chicken sandwich, steak and cheese, chicken nuggets, fries, and finished off with two pieces of cake. Everything was delicious! The staff were extremely friendly, making our experience even better. The whole family enjoyed their meals thoroughly. "

"I’ve been to max Londons many times. And it’s always been amazing. This time was really subpar. Waitress was not very accommodating and was neglectful. We had a reservation and there were other empty seats but we got a wobbly table near the kitchen. When asked if we could switch she just said no. She didn’t seem to know the menu or drinks. I had to ask three times for her to remember to bring us bread."

"Fun spot! All decorated up for winter/Christmas. Service was pretty good, pretty quick even on a crowded Friday, and the price was reasonable for Chicago joint. Would highly recommend the kale salad, it was actually super tasty! BBQ chicken pizza also a winner. Thin crust style if that's what you're into!"

"Booked an early dinner, wanted to check this place out for a while. Having read some of the reviews, I was a little reluctant, but we were promptly seated. Ordered drinks, the bar was a little slow, but nothing to complain about. My wife ordered the steak salad, which was good. I ordered the prime burger and sweet potato fries and a salad. Burger was really good, two patties cooked to order, they brought fries instead of the sweets, but they corrected the mistake and the sweet potato fries were tasty. Would have been better hot. The salad was fresh with two big strips of bacon. Overall the food, service and ambiance of the restaurant was between fair and good. Might give them another shot, but wouldn't rush back."

"We had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. Although it was noisy inside, we were able to score a table outside which was delightful. Our server, Breton (sp?), was charming and assisted us in navigating the menu. She had excellent knowledge about the chef and the cuisine, and she was very enthusiastic about both. The meatloaf and the pasta with leeks, corn, and mushrooms were both outstanding. My casamigos margarita was perfectly made. We will definitely be returning in the future."

"They were pretty busy so the service was slower than usual, and our order was little messed up, however, our waiter was lovely and did all he could to make up for it. They did not check vaccination cards. I wished they had. There was a family seated near us that was sneezing and coughing and even though we were outside it was concerning. The food was very good!"

"So for the beginnings when we arrived there, no one realized that we are close to the bar. someone finally came by and asked how they could help, and I said we wanted to go a command, I was directed towards a waiter who did not exist on the floor. we finally had to put our order, the dame that placed the order was very nice she recommended certain items on the sampler we got as well as two philly cheesesteaks and allegedly a bliss. I had to go back for the lasagne because she obviously didn't ask me for it, not yet. before I could even try any of the food I went back to get the lasagne while I wait for who I thought was a manager with a green hemd too busy flirting with women to actually see that there is a customer complaint. when I arrived at home and eating was really shocked because they had a sign that they were the best sportable from houston presse. I tell them now, the samplers were disgusting, it was less than typical bar food. the Philly cheese steaks were decent. the lasagne was a very small part. the eating in the rehearsal they were four was dry and the taste was not because the fried pickles were just ok they had seasoned and I really like that. I'll never return here again. especially if two people don't eat from our group because it was so rough. I did not get pictures of the lasagne because the person who ate the lasagne said that it actually tasted good, it was just small. there is no possibility that this is the best."

"These people are extremly rude and nasty if your not turkish or not a male nepotism to the max! I spent almost $20 on a waffle as hard as a hockey puck and a few slices of sausage. Everything I asked for was a problem because it wasn 't part of the special . I went to study and prepare for my day of fasting. I left hungry and crying because of the way they treated me. Ended up going to Wendy 's on the way home for some comfort food. The last time I went with my study group and the turkish males ordered burgers (which is not part of the special) and it wasn 't an issue...racist much? ????"

"Portola Kitchen is a generally very good neighborhood restaurant. There is a fairly creative menu, and the wine list is pretty good. My wife and I split a grilled peach salad with arugula and a very nice dressing. She had a very bland pork chop for the main course and I had eggplant Parmesan. The sauce on the eggplant was outstanding but the eggplant was a little undercooked and tough. The ambience here is nice, and it is generally a delight to eat outside where there are probably a dozen tables. Inside is always quite noisy, so we always tend to avoid sitting where it’s difficult to hear each other talk. "

"The fondue is about 24 dollars a person. The pot is a decent size but the fondue constantly solidified even as we turned up the heat. Actual cheese is good given with foccacia and some vegetables, apples, and grapes. My boyfriend also ordered the meat plate but it was so salty he barely touched it. The apples, grapes, and pickles were good with the cheese along with the bread, but most of the vegetables like the carrots and celery were an unimpressive pairing. There is a nice outdoor area with heat lamps but sadly it is only for bar service. Indoors it was pretty cramped and loud, and tables were close enough to us that a child almost grabbed our candle off our table. There were quite a few children there so I assume it is good for families. Flowers on the table and quick service. If you come I'd recommend walking down to East River Park on the waterfront before 9 pm for great views of Manhattan."

"This was my 2nd time and I loved it even more. Took the whole family for my sister's birthday. We had the pizza that was out of this world, great crust. Gnocchi, ravioli ... everything is so fresh and delicious. John, the owner, is a real gentleman and knows how to take care of his customers and the server we had that evening. I never felt rushed and could just enjoy the atmosphere and the great food. I highly recommend this restaurant. We look forward to a reunion."

"While I’ve eaten at the McKinney Ave location this is the first time here. Training is key. And seating people is the first order of business. Acknowledging your guests is the second. So, since neither of those were initially good experiences when we were reseated although we were clearly before three other guests there was no rhyme or reason to why we were seated last and banished to the back corner near the kitchen. Waiting for drinks was a long period and serving everything came out at different times. Salads an entree salad and a side salad came out together and then an individual pizza. The fact a beer glass was empty is a serving opportunity but instead it was unfulfilled. We languished in our dishes as we begged to leave and for a check. It was an experience beyond compare. A bad one and wish I hadn’t gone. Didn’t enjoy my food. Whatever that salad was was atrocious and should have been thrown out and the res was mediocre at best. The service might have saved it but it’s apparent they’re lost in the sauce"
