"On a positive note, the fried okra was perfectly cooked, though my only criticism is that it wasn’t salted. I took it to go, and I didn’t have any salt on hand. The coleslaw was homemade and quite tasty, but it was overly soggy with dressing, possibly because it was the last serving of the day. Nonetheless, it was enjoyable. If you order takeout, make sure to ask for cutlery, as I had to return inside to grab forks. The staff were very friendly, and I noticed many regular customers at the restaurant. Although I didn't try them myself, I observed Janet preparing hamburgers, hand-shaping the patties and cooking them on the griddle. When flipping, she pressed them down, which some people prefer, but it often results in loss of juiciness. I can't comment on their flavor since I didn't taste them. My son ordered chicken fingers with fries. The chicken tenders appeared to be hand-battered, and I saw them being fried in fresh batter. I managed to snag a small taste, and they were pretty good—definitely better than the frozen tenders that many places serve. The fries were average, and I’m unsure if they were homemade or frozen. One thing to note is that the prices listed on their website are outdated; they’ve raised prices but haven’t updated the information online. Additionally, the building has no signage, so I wasn’t sure I was in the right place until I saw the menu. The lighting inside is dim, with just a lit "open" sign in the window. If you find yourself in Boswell, your dining options are limited. Janet's is decent enough, but don't expect it to be the best BBQ you've ever had. A head's up: they only accept cash or checks, so be prepared!"

"Mediocre BBQ, not much flavor. I was here on a Friday night by myself at the bar. I ordered a Kentucky Mule cocktail, half rack of St Louis ribs, side of cucumber salad and side of potato salad. The food arrived almost immediately, before the mule. The ribs were maybe 60 degrees, not even warm. They had some room temp sauce on them. The meat was cooked properly but barely had any smoke flavor and the sauce had no opinion, somewhat sweet and gelatinous. The cucumber salad was similar, not sweet, not vinegary, not spicy, just pretty bland crunchy cucumber slices. The potato salad had a little flavor, mostly the egg and potato. The cocktail also had little going on, strong enough but mostly ice with no significant lime or ginger beer flavor. I finished the drink, ribs, cucumber and most of the potato. Inoffensive meal but not in any way memorable, I’ve had better BBQ from supermarkets. I could eat here again but given the selection in the area I’d look elsewhere.Staff was friendly and it was fairly busy. The large selection of call American whiskey is a cute prop to look at. Their toilets were out of commission due to some sort of flooding ?? and they were pointing everyone next door.Wheelchair accessibility: The bar and front is all high seating, unusable with a chair. The back has low tables. The doors don’t have automatic openers and the main entrance is very confined to get a chair through, you’d need two people holding doors to wheel through. Modern construction but no thought on this."
