"The food was disgusting, we returned 6 out of 7 appetizers that were served to us. The poor quality meat is poorly cooked and has a bad taste. They calculated every last cent of the bill. Shame should give them the lousy customer service and the lousy quality of the food with the years they have on the market !!!!! I will never return and I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. "We have been twice in the last 2 weeks ... which describes how much we love Metro 8. The porcini mushroom noodles are my favorite along with steak and tuna. The vegetables are always so fresh and perfectly prepared. The salads are crispy and dressed properly, and the wine list is huge and tasty. Perfect for dates, girls' nights or special occasions. Correctly priced for the top notch food you get. Better steaks than Angus Barn, better pasta than Maggianos, and much cheaper. The terrace is our favorite dining space, but the tables inside are super romantic. We will no doubt be back soon. Great service, fantastic atmosphere, top bar and wine list and local food to celebrate small businesses ... all my favorite things! Parking is so much easier than downtown Durham and we love the taste of 9th Street. The desserts are fantastic and the coffee is delicious."

"I've often driven past this restaurant & wondered if it was anything like its sister branch (Tatemono) in Whitby (Consumers Drive) which has dropped in standards in terms of customer service.I took a chance & dined here with my 3 children and was so glad that I did. From arrival to leaving we had staff who were attentive, pro-active & friendly. Our food orders were placed through to the kitchen in a timely manner, food arrived piping hot & in good time & tasted delicious. The menu is similar if not the same to Tatemono's but the customer service here far out did the service received at Tatemono recently (in another review). I'm assuming that this restaurant is fairly new as everything in it looked sparkly new & the bathrooms were not only very clean but looked as if they had been recently fitted/done.The buffet prices are a little more expensive than what I've experienced in other establishments but the food is good & you can eat as much as you like off the menu so all good. Plus, they have ample choice for vegetarians like myself & one of my daughters.I have no hesitation to return here again with friends or family as all the staff really did a good job in making my first experience here a good one, so well done - keep up the good work!"

"This will be a very honest review. I have been eating here for years and it was great until COVID. Then the food prices shot up much, much more than inflation allows. I gave them one more chance last night, and the prices were higher than the last time I ate there about 3 months ago. The container of sweet and sour sauce is about 1/3 the size of the one they gave me 3 months ago, and the beef lomaine had barely any beef in it.....why are they cutting the portion size down of the sweet and sour sauce and then still raising prices, all while skimming on beef in their dishes? I am done going there."

"If you're looking for good Chinese food, I recommend Smack Noodle just down the street. The food is delicious, portions are generous, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Definitely check out the positive reviews there! As a side note, I just found out that this restaurant is now out of business, and I'm relieved! "This sushi restaurant is the best in LA the price is great and it is very delicious!! Everyone in the restaurant is friendly and welcoming and especially the sushi technique of KAZUO, the boss, is incredible. You will think that it is a restaurant specializing in sushi roles because it's called California Roll Factory, but it actually serves traditional style sushi, with a craftsmanship as well! What makes them special is that they do not the suteshari method, which is when the sushi cook takes rice from the rice container to make sushi, and then lays what it does not use back into the container. You do not use this method in good sushi restaurants in Japan. You do not use this method in good Sushi restaurants in Japan because it is considered unhygienic. I have lived in Japan for more than thirty years and was in many famous sushi restaurants, but also in Japan it is more and more difficult to find places that keep the traditional style like California Roll Factory, so I was very surprised to find a sushi restaurant like this in Los Angeles. I am very grateful and happy that it exists! The reason they use plastic panels is because the owner did not want someone to get hurt when the panels fall."

"My friend and I visited this restaurant before the COVID pandemic and had a rather disappointing experience. However, we decided to give it another shot a few weeks ago, and we were truly impressed by the remarkable improvements in the food, customer service, and overall dining experience. I can confidently say that this restaurant offers some of the best yaki soba and Japanese curry in town. One downside, though, is that I wish there were more curry in my dish, as I ended up with too much rice and not enough curry. The sashimi was quite good as well, although we did encounter a particularly fishy piece of salmon, which I'm not sure the chefs were aware of. Nevertheless, we are definitely looking forward to returning to this restaurant, as the owner and his staff are incredibly welcoming and courteous!"

"Came to The Charlotte for their Christmas Eve for their 5 course prix fixe meal. We were seated at 7:15 and they rushed us through 5 courses in just 45 minutes, we asked if they could slow down the service but the waiter said no, he already fired up all the dishes. The dishes were coming so fast we weren't even done with the current course when the next course would show up and they just lined up the dishes at our table. It should have been a memorable Christmas Eve where we sat and enjoyed the food and the view, instead we were force fed a 5 course meal in record time of 45 minutes. I would not recommend their special occasion prix fixe meals because of this. The food was OK but nothing that stood out. We felt the lighting was too bright on our table, the restaurant should have a lower lighting level."

"We looked for Asian cuisine, specifically searching for soup. Today is very cold and my wife wanted something to warm up. The reviews were positive. It was clear that masks were required, which we had planned and prepared for each family member. Upon arrival, there was no dine-in seating and no message to lead us to believe we needed to pre-order. Your choice is to order takeout or have it delivered. We live too far away to have anything delivered. It also does not make any sense to order soup and drive 35-40 minutes home! Very disappointed!! More accurate information would help this restaurant!!!"

"We went to dinner on Friday night. The sushi was average. The atmosphere was extremely loud, with several tables of younger patrons engaging in sake bombing and screaming. The service was also very slow. To make matters worse, they automatically added an 18% tip for a party of six, even though we were only a party of two. After processing my credit card, they even removed the receipt related to the charge in an attempt to secure an additional tip. Very frustrating! I suppose this tactic works for larger drinking parties, but not for us. It was quite irritating!"

"This was my first and LAST time dining at this restaurant, and it was a terrible experience! The crab cakes I had were, without a doubt, the worst I've ever tasted. I even took a photo of the inside to show you the mushy filling they use. As for the flavor... I can't even find the words to describe it. I paid nearly $30 for this! "I do not know how to start this experience at Agency Socialeque. The ambiance was very nice BUT after receiving my meal, it was a turn for the worse. My daughter and I ordered the Shrimp and Lobster Spaghetti. I noticed that it wasn 't enough of lobster in the spaghetti. So I asked the waitress, where 's the lobster in the meal and could I get extra lobster? GUESS WHAT? The kitchen ran out of lobster and they replaced the lobster with CRAB MEAT. This is a $32 plate and I wanted lobster. They just took it upon themselves to replace lobster without notification and asking us if this was okay? Thank God both of us are not allergic to crab meat.....this could have been another story! If I wouldn 't have asked about the lobster, we were going to get charged $64. The manager never came over to apologize but gave us a 20% discount. The waitress was very nice but she knew that I was very upset and displeased. Therefore, the Overall experience at the Agency Socialeque was POOR. The Agency Socialeque needs to DO BETTER!!! I would not recommend the Agency Socialeque nor will I go back!"

"I went to this restaurant with my friend and her mom. I ordered the Side Swipe roll, which was delicious! I wanted to get some sashimi, but I found it way too overpriced. If I recall correctly, they wanted about $6 for a single piece—definitely not worth it. My friend's mom tried the clear noodle Korean dish, but she wasn't a fan. There were some really tough, branch-like pieces of fern in it that even our waitress wasn't sure were edible. The service was decent, although it seemed like our poor waitress was managing the entire restaurant on her own. Overall, it wasn’t a bad place, and since we haven't tried a lot of the menu, we can't really comment on everything. The sushi was enjoyable. However, the atmosphere could definitely use some improvement; the decor was quite mismatched with clashing colors everywhere."

"After spending some time in Bal Harbour in late June, I’ve found Makoto to be a staple when it comes to dining at Bal Harbour Shops. During my first visit, I was able to enjoy dinner service at about 9pm. Pictured is the usagi (similar to a pisco sour), tuna crispy rice (the house specialty), rock shrimp, spicy edamame, Japanese eggplant, shishito peppers, lychee and Mochi. Everything was absolutely delicious. Favorites were reordered (rock shrimp, tuna crispy rice and shishito peppers). That’s not to say the other plates weren’t good but these three were just that good. Drinks were all consistent as well. I switched over to a spicy pineapple margarita while my guests kept with the spicy margarita option that stayed super tasty and always refilled after meeting our server, Anthony. He was super friendly and attentive throughout our entire stay. So much that we can back a few days later for lunch and was hosted my Maddie. She is such a delight and was also super friendly and welcoming while eating at the bar. The last two photos are the sushi bar options (chu-toro, king Salmon, tamago and a spicy yellowtail roll). The sushi was incredibly fresh and worth the visit. Hopeful to visit in the future very soon! Make sure you make reservations if you can because there can be quite a wait if not. Overall, Makoto is definitely my new favorite."

"We ordered at the counter, and the person who took our order surprisingly gave us a 20% discount. I'm not sure why we received it, but we certainly appreciated it. Regardless of the discount, the food was absolutely delicious, and the prices were quite reasonable. We were even able to get extra spicy mayo for free. We usually hesitate to try new places, but we're glad we stumbled upon this one. It’s a great spot with quick service! Highly recommend!"

"Not the worst sashimi and soft shell crab, but not the freshest. Salmon was super fresh, nice knife skills- but others would be off by tomorrow we felt. Salad was on par, same with miso soup. Nothing to write home about, but reasonably priced. Would not likely order again when places like Wakame have drop down fantastic sashimi."
