"This place is fantastic! It's a wonderful little gem. I went in expecting typical diner food for breakfast, but I was pleasantly surprised by the unique menu! I will definitely return to try more dishes. We ordered breakfast; I had the DD's Benedict, which featured beautifully spiced jerk pork. The seasoning was just the right balance of spice, heat, and flavor. The eggs were cooked to perfection, and the potatoes were outstanding. Unlike most diners that serve soggy breakfast potatoes, these were crispy and delicious. My partner ordered the breakfast castle, which was excellent as well; the meat was cooked perfectly, the presentation was impressive, and the French fries were nice and crispy. The prices for the two of us were very reasonable. The staff and our waitress were incredibly nice, attentive, and cheerful. I'm definitely planning to come back, and I'm so glad we discovered this place!"

"I only give two stars because I was refunded this time! I loved this place the owner (jamaican lady) was very nice and pleasant. I recently know, however, that I was served over eating. Yeah, that's not fresh. this is the third and last time I get spoiled food from this place! the first two times I talked to the man who was there. He was quite rude and insulted me to tell him that the food was not fresh and that it began to smell a few hours after the purchase. I was very professional, but he was so heated because he says he thought I was just getting a refund! as a HUGE advocate of my culture - especially his kitchen, so I had no reason to call this restaurant harmful! I just gave my feedback as I (good or bad) place with any other I visit. there is a saying that is good and humble when it comes to people who prepare their food, and therefore this is my last visit to this restaurant. I've got a dizzy pain of confident chomping down the pampered tears and exalted, which I literally bought only 2pm today, 2nd august 2022. I bought stew chicken w/ rice and inherit and jerk truthahn wing, and some other dry things like tutti fruti etc. the truthahn wings were not fresh and the hay was in order, but the rice was 100% away - up to the point where it came slim out of the fork when I pulled it out of the rice! yes! I feel so terrible to write this critique, but honestly, because I would rather tell the owner himself or those with the people there, but from my last 2 experiences, and from the 2-3 characters in the load. I don't think they're open to it! all sales are definitely not refunds no exchange)I guess the only thing I really gave a refund for the bad one-pot chicken meal against their policies."

"We enjoyed the guacamole and salsa. The medium guacamole and it was fairly spicy. Each person ordered a different kind of enchiladas and tacos and then we traded around so that everyone could try several kinds. We were severed quickly which would be good for people who have an evening engagement. Our only complaint was that it was quick noisy which made it difficult to hear each other at our table."

"Visit us!!! Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that the restaurant was closed during lunch hours, but the menu choices were definitely worth the visit. I tried the spicy soybeans, spinach rice, delightful vegetables, and roasted plantains. The macaroni and cheese looked so tempting that I decided to order a side as well. All the dishes were hot, fresh, and flavorful! I would love to see another vegetarian protein option added to the menu. Although the dining area was unavailable, this didn’t bring down my rating because the owner kindly offered us a table elsewhere, but we graciously declined as we didn’t want to disrupt their busy service."

"1st time having Antiguan food. Bernadine is the owner and chef. She was so passionate about cooking you can taste it in her food. Fungee with Salt Fish and Eggplant was so good. I love anything made with corn meal. Grits, Polenta, cornbread ???? Soon as Ben (our waiter) said made it cornmeal I was sold. :D Brown Stew Chicken with Rice and Peas was delicious aswell. The Ginger Beer and Ginger Tea are both strong and delicious. Glad we try this restaurant and can't wait to trysomething else on the menu."

"Considering the fact that restaurants have to space out seating and forced to have seating outside to make business...this place did good job. They have tables some with umbrellas and some without while reggie music plays in the background...nice. The servers were polite and attentive. The food was delicious, as always. We have tried the jerk wings, snapper, curry chicken, brown stewed chicken, curry goat, salt fish ackee, roti, and both soups...everything was made with great presentation, well flavored and overall great taste. Ive been a customer for about 3 years and have yet to be disappointed with this place. They aim to please!"

"First of all, I was the only one in the restaurant and it was a thirty minute wait. Okay, the salmon have to be cooked fresh, but why was it so dry!!! It was over cooked! I had salmon at the Yard House the two nights ago and it was soooo delicious, moist, and seasoned just right.I was hoping for a similar experience, but no not at all! I love island food, and this restaurantdoes have tasty plantains, Mac n Cheese, and sweet yams. Too sweet for me, but my dad loved them. As for the Jerk Shrimp, toospicy! Everyone doesn?t he food with that much heat. It would have been to have an option for the Jerk Shrimp. When I called tocomplain because our two dinners with tip was over $60!"

"I just came here today for lunch with my aunt. Let’s start with cleanliness… they ask you to use the available disposable gloves and hand sanitizer which is an A+ in my book since it’s self serve. The food was very nicely displayed and everything was fresh. I ended up getting one plate to dine in and then got two to go so my partner at home could taste too. My aunt got an extra one too. Walked in for lunch and walked out with dinner for three. I had the bbq sticky wings with collard greens, cabbage, Mac n cheese, and candied yams with marshmallow on top. Everything was yummy. The yams were my personal fav, not too sweet and just sweet enough, nice and tender. Oh but also the sticky bbq wings were my fav. They stayed nice and crispy fried with the right amount of sauce. Also I saw a couple reviews about it being bland, particularly saw a mention about collard greens but I’d like to say that as a collard green lover you gotta understand that it’s flavored for the population. Southern style is stewed with smoked meat (my personal preference) but I think these greens are Ital (vegan) so the flavor is different. Big Caribbean population in this area as well so I wouldn’t be surprised if that were the case. I liked them! Anyway… I brought home two plates one ox tail and one j chicken (pic included) but I haven’t opened them yet so I can’t speak on that but my aunt got oxtail and she loved it (she don’t like nobody ox tail bc it’s always tough). She wrote a review too so if you see a lady raving about cake and ox tail you know who it is ? Anyway, this ain’t the place for you to bring a big group to sit down as there are only two decent size tables. There’s room for 6 8 ppl to sit. Nothing fancy but clean so we sat and ate. Very nice staff too! even gave me a new mask when I lost mine. I been here before and I’ll be back again! A very pleasant lunch worth taking the time to write a good review"

"The dining experience was excellent! The flavors of authentic Jamaican spices really stood out. I ordered the Veggie Roti without onions, the cocob red, and a garden salad also without onions. There was a bit of a wait, and they were out of a few menu items. I was particularly looking forward to having Irish Moss, as I haven't had it in a while. Because of these two issues, I deducted a star from the rating. Overall, though, everything else was fantastic. The decor was clean and inviting, and the bathroom was well-maintained, as you can see in the pictures. The owner was friendly, and I always like to support black-owned businesses."

"I'm not sure what went wrong this time, but I ordered the brown stew chicken through DoorDash, and the rice was overcooked and mushy. I've been to many Caribbean restaurants, and rice shouldn't be served like that. I really didn't enjoy the meal. Just sharing my thoughts."

"The food was delicious! atmosphere was calm and a bit too quiet, some music would’ve been nice. I ordered the jerk chicken from the lunch menu, server Enye asked me for the two sides failing to inform me that in getting two sides makes it an entre. Other than that detail, Enye was nice and attentive. Even though I paid more than I meant to, it was definitely worth it."

"This restaurant has seriously gone downhill since it first opened. The food used to be excellent, but now it’s hit or miss. You pay your money, hoping for the best. The staff seems incompetent, and they charge different prices for the same dishes. Just today, I was told that the usual two-piece chicken meal now comes with only one and a half pieces. The menu clearly states that the medium size comes with one piece and the large with two pieces, yet it's now $1 more for less food. To make matters worse, they have the audacity to charge $2.50 for a single piece of fried fish, which feels like robbery. Just last week, I was charged $2 for each piece, and the woman who charged me was right there, acting as if she hadn’t done it, but I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to cause trouble for her. It’s not worth it to go there anymore. They increase prices, reduce portion sizes, and act like you’re confused when you question the price changes. I’m done with them. There’s never a manager available to speak to, and what they’re doing feels downright illegal. They really need to be held accountable!"

"Looks can deceiving but the food here will definitely bring you back . I can tell when it's fresh to order and that's the difference, it took a little time but it was so worth it . Brooklyn is known for a few things but in Atlanta this place brings me back BK vibes . They have love music at least the night decided to go . If I could change anything it would be the parking situation because they use the public parking and don't have validated parking and in ATL that's the bonus we look for I can't wait to go back because the Rasta pasta with the salmon I had was perfectly cooked as well as the pasta . I'll def try another style next time but I would give it a 5 but the wait was lengthy but sooooooo worth it !!!! So I'll update it in hopes next time it will be a little less of a wait but if it taste the same I'm waiting"

"Located at the NW corner of the Farmers Market food pavilion, this meat/veg counter is an easy way to get way outside of your food "box" w/o wasting $50 & 3 hours. While I opted for the spicy but not overly hot beef tips, there were several fishes, goat, & oxtail to choose from. The veggies were more limited in scope & more traditionally Southern. The presence of several vegetarian "entrees" slightly confused my choosing. Opt for the Jonny cake over the cornbread. This is like a giant hush puppy, but the interior is flaky like a biscuit. Very effective at soaking up the extra gravy."

"This place deserves zero stars is just absolutely ridiculous. I've had two meals from there they absolutely perfect. Then I went on my own and the rice and peas was full of sugar, sugar, rice, and peas, which makes no sense whatsoever then try to give them another chance I got there at 11:45 and they wasn't even open And they wonder why a lot of black businesses struggle because you're not responsible enough to start on time I serve a decent product, but try to charges Ridiculous prices. I don't have a problem paying a decent price for good food but don't give me nonsense and BS. If you know you messed up the food and make more nobody came there for sugar and rice beans. I'm trying to support but you all make it too damn hard. Damn damn"

"I ordered the salmon rasta pasta a while back. It was horrible , I was hungry and didn't find out until I got home. Takeout Called the restaurant and spoke to the owner the following day. She took care of me . Had my pasta remade for pickup. Yes this is an updated review. If you can take the time to complain you can do the same for a happy resolution."

"This is the best place in Queens for authentic Jamaican food. The lines are often out the door, and the staff clearly knows what they’re doing. The food is freshly cooked and beautifully presented. Just a quick tip: be prepared with your order when you walk in, as things move quickly. I always order my rice and peas with gravy, and it’s delicious!"

"The food at this restaurant used to be amazing back in 2007, like something out of an old school cookbook. However, now the dining experience is absolutely terrible. The ox tail dish was especially disappointing. It seems like there is a high turnover in management, the cooks may not be following proper protocols, and the location looks like it could be a fire hazard. If you were to try the food now without any prior experience, you might think it's delicious."

"During our first visit to this restaurant, we were excited to try it based on the positive reviews we had heard. However, we encountered some confusion when trying to place our order and find a seat, which was not a great start. We ended up sitting on the veranda and were served by two waitresses. The service was lackluster, with one waitress displaying a disinterested and almost argumentative attitude. The food, when it finally arrived, was disappointing. The Jamaican Jerk Chicken was overpriced and too spicy to eat, while the vegetarian sampler platter was mediocre. The cornbread was expensive and arrived too late to enjoy with our meal. Overall, the service and food quality at this restaurant were subpar, and we do not plan to return. We prefer to support establishments that value their customers and provide a more positive dining experience."
