"Despite our server's sweet and apologetic demeanor, she struggled to manage several large tables at once. Our interactions with her were delayed and infrequent. During our first visit, we were moved to a table near the loudspeakers. On the second visit, we placed our drink and food orders right away. Finally, as we requested our check, the manager stepped in to help deliver our meals. The menu offered very few options, but my salad and the chili were both substantial and flavorful."

"I've eaten my fair share of fish chips so I figured a give them a go here. They were very good, comparable to those I ate on our trip to Ireland. Service was good, and the patrons seem to be of the thirty something crowd (whatever that means). I also tasted the butternut squash ravioli and thought they were quite tasty too. I almost ordered the braised short ribs myself. They must be good because the guy sitting next to me spent a considerable amount of time scraping thelast bits off his plate."

"My meal was a "Restaurant Week" choice. I ordered the Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding. I got my meal and the yorkshire pudding was missing. The waitress said to both of us "oh, I forgot to mention we were out of that"... but she didn't tell me and brought it anyway. The waitress mumbled and my guest and I just ignored here because we would not understand her. The roast beef was so tough, my guest was laughing because I had to tear through the beef. I gave the plate back and did not eat that night. So, no thanks Big Ben. The British born person will never return"

"The food was disgusting, we returned 6 out of 7 appetizers that were served to us. The poor quality meat is poorly cooked and has a bad taste. They calculated every last cent of the bill. Shame should give them the lousy customer service and the lousy quality of the food with the years they have on the market !!!!! I will never return and I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. "Let's just start by saying THE DOOR... Every time someone leaves the door slams behind them and it's very loud. The atmosphere was nice and enjoyable until the door caught you off guard once again. The food was good was very reasonable and portions were very nice. The service... That was horrible, we never been to this town before, we came here to explore somewhere new. We walked in and wasn't even greeted. We sat down at a table and we waited at least 15min for someone to come over to us or even say hi. The servers we more interested in keeping the lady sitting at the bar entertained (maybe she was an owner/manager? I watched her walk into the kitchen and carry out a cup of soup for herself) Once we were done with our meal we had to ask another server about our bill since we had not seen our server in some time. Long story short, I wouldn't go back. Great food but with the annoying door slamming and the service seems to out way the food."

"My colleagues and I had reservations at 12 noon and was seated promptly. Since Burmese restaurant are rear in the area, we were really looking forward to this experience. While we weren't in a hurry, the restaurant was. Drinks were ordered and they pushed to have a food order at the same time. We choose to wait to order the food until the drinks were brought to us. We ordered the Burmese style beef and goat stew as well as the Moh Hin Ga (Fish Noodle Soup). While the sauces of the meat stews were nice, it wasn't spectacular! The stew meats were definitely not tender. If you enjoy tough meat, then these dishes are for you. Additionally, the Moh Hin Ga was lacking in flavor and in my colleagues words: "would not order it again". Also, soft drinks and iced tea and refilled complimentary. Given the rush and the below average experience, will not be going back. Given there their great Yelp ratings, there seems to be a lot of patrons that like it. Maybe we just attended them on a bad day or the normal Chef was not present that day..."

"The Fish Chips here is usually a stand out with light crispy batter and moist perfectly cooked fish. This time every order of Fish Chips at our table (4 orders) were overcooked and the batter was heavy. I don’t know if they have changed the recipe or if it was an off night in the kitchen but it was a definite let down. Add to that the strange decision a few months back to eliminate desert (which at the time was an outstanding sticky toffee pudding) and it leaves me wondering if I can still count on this place to deliver on the food side. Ambiance and service are still top notch."

"What an awesome pub! A large amount of wonderful food options and a huge assortment of imported beers and spirits. The food was excellent, flaky breading on the fish with succulent and buttery insides, fresh cut potatoes fried in the back for somedelicious chips. "We were a party of 12, and Queen Vic made our dinner reservations easily on their website. We had a fantastic time! The food was perfect for our group, including the chicken pot pie (see photo), Fish and Chips, Speckled Hen (the daily special), a Brie cheese board (another daily special), and more. Everything arrived hot and delicious. I highly recommend this place for dining and drinks. Next time we're in the DC area, we will definitely return!"

"I love the location and atmosphere of this restaurant! The view of the University of Chicago, along with the tall trees and the Midway Plaisance, is absolutely stunning during the day. However, my root vegetable soup was a bit off; it had an unexpected salty flavor, possibly due to too much cheese. The salmon cake was also overly salty, although the salad and toast that accompanied it were quite tasty. The fried items had a pleasant flavor, but they were very oily, which detracted from their overall appeal. My guest enjoyed their chicken pot pie soup and crème caramel. I ordered the "Snow Island" (the name might not be exact, but it was enormous and delicious, particularly the lemon balm flavor). I would definitely come back because the service is outstanding and the restaurant itself is beautiful, but next time I'd like to try some more traditional English dishes."

"You absolutely have to stop here, even if it’s out of your way! We stumbled upon this gem after a long day of excursions, and it was such a delightful surprise. In fact, it has become the HIGHLIGHT of my trip! The food is EXCEPTIONAL! I highly recommend the Reuben sandwich; it was fantastic. My husband ordered the fish and chips, and he claimed it was the best he has ever had—and he has a lot of experience to compare it to. The service was outstanding. Libby made us laugh and feel like part of the family from the moment we walked in. Contrary to what some might say, there is ADA access at the back. They are also adhering to the latest Covid protocols, providing hand sanitizer and masks, etc. The owner, Brian, came out to chat with us, and he is simply AWESOME! We felt like we could have spent the whole evening hanging out with him. We will definitely be back. Great food, great company, and great service—what more could you ask for?"
