"We are a vietnamese couple and were excited when we saw this restaurant on TikTok described as an authentic “hole in the wall” Vietnamese restaurant. Coming from the West Coast and Houston, we didn’t have high expectations for Vietnamese food in Austin to begin with, but our dishes were almost not even edible. The pho is probably the safest choice, however I’d strongly defer my friends and family to Pho Phong Luu. The vermicelli dishes were incredibly dry and flavorless. I don’t really understand how they have obtained such high google ratings, but if you are expecting real, authentic Vietnamese cuisine I’d spend my money elsewhere."
