"Despite the fact that when I walked in to get my order, it appeared to be all chaos, with a line out the door and staff running food out to the tables and the ladies behind the counter going HAM on the to-go orders, I have such immediate deep love for Lang Van that I have to give it 5 stars. This is a small, family-owned business that you have to love or you may be a monster. Know what you 're in for on the weekend and plan accordingly. It 's a small restaurant with parking that doesn 't allow for running in and picking up your order easily. My friend waited in the car for me and at first I was like WTF am I walking into here? But it was OK because the people waiting for a table were in such a good mood and let me pass and the captain of the ship might be the nicest lady in all of Charlotte (a city full of friendly people, mind you). She 's a pro back there, handling orders with aplomb. I 'm sorry, baby, one minute, she assured me as she zipped by and I believed her. It was five minutes and I didn 't care. I read all the love letters to the business as I waited, dodging well-meaning servers teetering past with large bowls of pho in hand. OK, so I had to mention all of this because I am known to be rather impatient at times. The food is excellent but this place is more than just great Vietnamese food, which, even when average is always really damn good, let 's face it. My order: lemongrass tofu. Delicious with fresh mint and greens and sprouts and vermicelli noodles. The perfect vegan Vietnamese food (they are so accommodating when you specify no fish sauce etc)."

"everything I ordered here so far was right! this is a relatiw new (at least in the last 10 years since I returned to the dorchester) vietnamese restaurant. the staff is always very friendly and offers a very direct icy when they board and sit. I ordered the salt roasted pork chop plate, which was huge. the pork chops are super moist and crispy when they take a bite and the portion size is huge. the grilled chicken with rice reminded me of my childhood. the chicken was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. their salt roasted inkfish and soft shells crabs are great when they love seafood and kalamari style dishes. are they only aware that they can be a bit sharp, so make sure they let them know when they want it mildly. adding pork nips to this dish will give them an extra $6, but it is a huge plate. I also loved her early rolls and garlic snow puffs. they love absolutely up to any Chinese restaurant in quality and taste. their fried tofu and solid vegetables are also solid dishes when they go vegetarian. Overall, some dishes can be a little expensive if they adapt custard dishes, but the portion sizes in any case for it."

"Best Vietnamese food I had in USA! And I’ve had Vietnamese food in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York. The price is also fantastically fair. The food is phenomenal! Unbelievably fresh and delicious. This is a hidden gem in city heights. I found out about it only by chance because of the Street vender style barbecue stand outside reminded me of my home when I was very much homesick. The spring roll, it’s only $4.75! And the roll is huge! With big shrimp and fresh pork belly inside. The sauce is the best I’ve had, very fresh and amazing. The BBQ pork and egg roll with vermicelli 52) is my personal favorite! Haven’t tried other items yet. Their avocado shake is only &3.50 and sooooo yummy in a hot humid day. Just an amazing restaurant. You’ll thank me if you go."

"This is a more traditional vietnamese restaurant compared to its neighbor tamarind tree. I love coming here for their pho, and they have long been established here for a long time. My wife loves ordering their bun bo hue. The last time I came there, they were not very busy and had two waiters. We got seated very fast and were given a set of menus and two hot green teas. We each ordered a noodle dish and it came out within 5 minutes. Overall we love the tradition of this restaurant and how long it has been here. A vietnamese classic of the chinatown little saigon neighborhood."

"I'm not sure to happened to this place but it has gone down terribly. My girlfriend and I ordered 2 pho bowls and a scorpion bowl for 2. We got our food before we got the scorpion bowl. What restaurant does that??? I asked the waiter if our drink was coming and he said he was waiting for the bartender. I have never heard that in my life. You guys have a bar but no bartender?? Okay and not to even mention our scorpion bowl HAD NO OUNCE OF LIQUOR INSIDE!!!! It was all juice. I was so upset I let my girlfriend finish it. She was even upset but they were charging us for it anyway. Now let's get back to our pho.. usually when you go to a restaurant to sit down eat and order soup. It's supposed to come out hot and steamy right? Our bowls definitely didn't come out hot. Usually I'd have to blow on my noodles to eat it. But here at Pho 88 , I could feed it to a toddler without blowing on it. This is sad because this was my go to spot if I wanted beef brisket. But since my last experience, I will not be returning at all. I've already let friends family know and social media. This is a shame."

"We have Pho Ha, 1619 E Imperial Hwy, Brea, CA 92821, since 2006, if we don't want to drive to West Minister. Recently there are new service staff and it was not the same, the services are worse. Especially on Tuesday 11-8-2022 we went there for a meal. The server we do not know his name, he is the short man who was very rude, aggressive and unprofessional. We had to wait some time before we sat and then waited for a long time to place our order. The short man took our order and my food came almost completely wrong. Not only did he not apologize, he wasn't accommodating. While waiting for the missing meat of my Pho, he suddenly came to my table, shrouded my bowl away from me and told me hard that I heard your food was wrong, what is wrong with it, tell me I'm gonna get a new one for you that was redundant when he already knew what was wrong with my food. I felt he came back to complain. He replied sarcastically to everything I asked or asked and ignored my requests. I then requested another server and it is also ignored. Our meal was extremely unpleasant, we would have left our food without food, but we did not and during the whole meal none of the servers came by to check if we needed anything at all. But when I went to the counter to pay, the short man came by quickly and now he suddenly came nice to me and asked if everything was okay. I stayed calm and paid without a tip, the short man followed me back to our table to check if we left the cash tip that we did not, the short man complained to my partner, but he did not understand the short man. The short man had the courage to chase after me to teach me that I have to tap. I didn't tell him a tip, then he continued to dictate that I should only command. I answered that I will never come back. We thought that after we were terriblely abused, we felt that a tip was not earned. There are so many pho-restaurants, we would rather go further than return to this place. The 1 star had to leave a review, otherwise it would not be a star. We saw many similar reviews about the terrible service at this point."

"Unbelievable! Amazing food and service! The staff is super helpful, whether you eat there or go to eat! I've come to this place for over a year and it's still disappointing me! I even moved to the east side of the city and will drive to the northwest to eat here! PLease does not confuse with the near UofA campus! That was a disappointment and is not related, although the name is the same! Come back with family and friends for years!"

"I used to enjoy this restaurant before it changed its name. The pho I ordered had a very bland broth with almost no flavor. I asked for rare steak and meatballs in my pho, but instead got thick, fatty, overcooked meat that was tough and grainy. I had to remove everything from the soup and try to salvage the rest. I usually don't rely on online reviews, but the lack of understanding and refusal to offer a discount for the mistake made me want to share my experience. There are better places in Seattle to get delicious pho, so I do not recommend this restaurant for this dish."

"My daughter ordered pho, and I was disappointed to find that the broth had a thick layer of oil on top. Additionally, there was no basil served with the dish. After our meal, I noticed on my way to the restroom that other diners had much larger bowls of pho. I can't help but wonder if they reduced the portion because my daughter is small, even though the price was the same."

"Decent food but horrid management. My wife and I rented the place last year for our wedding reception. Our first meeting with the manager CJ went well. Our 2nd meeting was with the owner and we were introduced to fees that were never mentioned during the first meeting. We had already deposited money so backing out was not an option.The wedding day started with some miscommunication between the owner and staff. The tables and chairs were not set up the way we asked and the staff did not know we had our own menus to be set up on the tables. Paid extra (but was refunded) for spotlight but it didn't really work. Paid extra for an extra hour of time but they were cleaning up and moving tables 2 hours early, not informing guests they were just making more room so a lot of people left thinking the party was over.The party was over an hour early and our parents asked the owner for a refund of the extra hour. Instead they got in to an argument. owner said my wife and I don't understand Vietnamese (my wife is fluent btw) and then started talking trash about my family on Facebook afterwards. Still had a fun wedding but definitely left with a sour taste in my mouth. Come here to eat decent Vietnamese food but I would not recommend booking an event."
