"Tonight was my first time this DTLA location, however I have been to about 4 other locations scattered around this and the East coast, and it was just as good as the others that I have been to. It?s a bit more casual than other steakhouses (in general most chains are more casual) so you will see more sneakers, t-shirts, and baseball hats than some other fine dining steakhouses, but also prices are a bit more reasonable in comparison so it?s to be expected. A goodrule of thumb is anywhere that has salt and pepper on the table is a more casual setting. Our server Paulina was very polite and did a great job the entire meal. However I had to send a steak back to the kitchen for the 3rd time in my lifetonight (and I dine out 2x week every week). I ordered the Filet Mignon medium temp and it came out jiggly soft, which I know means undercooked, and sure enough when I cut into it it was almost rare. They rushed it back and it came back outsliced so it just took away from that experience a lot. When it did arrive the steak was good, but not great, not charred and more buttery vs seasoned than I prefer. Also there was no comp at all to make up for the mistake of thekitchen/expediter. We also ordered the jumbo lump crab cocktail which was very nice probably my favorite part, the lobster bisque and the French onion soup which were also nice, and the wedge salad which was not a hit at the table due tothe wrong lettuce to toppings ratio (tons of lettuce but little else) but in comparison to other locations close by like Nick Stef?s, LA Prime, and Flemings there are better, and definitely fancier, steakhouses to choose insteadconsidering this is expensive as well. This would be good for a first date perhaps, but would not be ideal for a first year anniversary if she?s discerning. The bar area is really great though so a meal with friends or even a casualbusiness meal would be more appropriate. Overall I would try again but each time I have been to a Capital Grille it"

"Mom and I have been patrons of this situation in order for 4 years. we always go to our birthdays in October. sometimes we have a big party, sometimes only us both. this year we were a party of 3. our experience with the host was warm, welcoming and accommodating. we did not receive the exact table request, but we did not say anything since we had starved. the table had no of the famous birthday decoration, the hostess did it while we were on the table. definitiw taken away from the magic. our server was polite, but very slow to do everything that is not at all attentive. water cups were not regularly refilled, even no wine glasses. the broth basket took a long time to get out. our server did not return to take our order, someone else did. Eating was slowly come out, it was not warm, and (that is the worst part) the steak of my mother was not boiled to the desired temperature. she asked about well done, but the steak was still bright pink in the middle. also here we have not said anything because the service was slow to begin, so ate them around the edges. the kartoffeln au gratin were not explained as with speck, the mother cannot eat so that was also a let off. Finally, dessert was just fine. we were glad they gave a free dessert plate, but mama ordered an additional crème brûlée. unfortunately it was casual and tasteless. all in all, I would say that this was our least favorite experience. that was kind of a 3-hour meal, most of the time we just waited for eating. we end up going the packaging of food, the first time we have ever done this in capital grille. considering how much we invested in our annual birthday meal, it seems rather sad that after the recast the next day we enjoyed it better at home. shout goes to the host and matt. very friendly, and attentive profis often do not get recognized, so please send them our appreciation."

"What a phenomenal experience! From beginning to end, my wife and I were wowed and impressed. If you want to be taken care of for your special occasion, come to The Capital Grille! I can't say enough good things about our dinner here. Even before we steppedin, making a reservation online is extremely easy! The hostesses are friendly, accommodating and professional; and when we wereseated the table was decorated for my birthday with small pieces of metallic confetti and even had a handwritten card. Wequickly received the menu, they got delicious, warm bread and ice-cold water out to us while we waited on our beverages andafter placing our order, we enjoyed champagne and the appetizers while waiting on our food. Every dish was amazing! I highlyrecommend the parmesean-crusted tomahawk veal chop, obviously made to order: so tender and juicy and flavorful. Incredible.Their ultra creamy mashed potatoes are also a must! Desert was on the house for my birthday, with a sentimental presentation. Our waitress, Autumn, was WONDERFUL! Attentive, personable, and effective. She frequently asked how things were and ifeverything was up to our standards, which was much appreciated. From beginning to end, we were catered to and we relished everyheavenly bite. Pricey, but worth every penny. We look forward to returning sometime soon! Thank you, Capital Grille, for makingmy day so special!"
