"I went to this restaurant on 12/23/23. The food and service were excellent. My only complaint is regarding the dessert we ordered. Our waiter, Charles, mentioned they had cheesecake and tableside banana foster for the cheesecake. When I ordered it, it was clear they did not understand what tableside meant. He simply brought my cheesecake and a bowl of banana foster and poured it on top. I was very disappointed with this. We also tried the bread pudding, which was a bit dry and could have used some sauce or other topping. However, if you skip dessert, the rest of the meal is fantastic. "Out of towners who made this our super swanky meal of our trip. We came in with high expectations because of ratings and awards. My wife got the sea bass and me the filet mignon medium rare. I cook alot my own steak so I am a really tough judge. Anything above a 9 is great score from me. The filet got a 9.4. Cooked just right and not stringy/chewy. A 9.4 mostly because it was $70. I am not use to those prices back home! They surprised us with a complimentary birthday cake for me even though I didn't want anything showy. Waiter was really good adjusting to our needs and answering questions. I told him I drink alcohol fast and to bring drinks out quicker then most ppl allow. Particularly, it was a holiday weekend and I wanted to feel good. He did not disappoint. I had 3 beers and a double of whiskey with the steak. We spent $300 for two ppl includes tip."

"It's a common occurrence at many restaurants. You sit down at your local diner and see a group of 10 kids come in, order only 2 orders of fries to share, and then leave without leaving a tip for the server. Parents should do a better job teaching their children about the importance of tipping and treating others with respect. It's not right to treat servers like they don't matter. Remember the saying, "don't poo where you eat" - be kind and show respect to everyone, including your server."

"We came to Peninsula Grill for my wife and her Mom’s birthday. (both on the same day) The hostess was sweet and greeted us and asked “whose birthday it was?” And was so excited when we told her we had two birthdays! She typed it into the computer, and we were seated, and received drinks. We then waited around 40 minutes for bread. We were surprised to see multiple couples and groups who arrived after us receiving their entrees, and ended up waiting around an hour and 30 minutes for ours. We were not checked on by our waiter, and received dinner without an opportunity to order additional drinks AND we had waters empty. At this point, we were a little frustrated. The food was great, but our service was next to nothing and our waiter was surprised when we didn’t want to order any dessert, having been sitting there for near on 2 hours at this point. The phrase that we kept feeling was that we were not prioritized, even with two birthdays seated at the table. We were surprised at the low level of service we received as we’ve heard great things, but unfortunately we will not be recommending or coming back to Peninsula Grill ever again."

"We have visited Sweet Basil multiple times, and we were excited to bring our friends from out of town here for a nice birthday dinner. The food was very good to great — though not quite as good as it typically has been on our previous visits, but the service and drinks were quite a let down. Sweet Basil isn’t necessarily known for their drink program, but we would have expected some more inventive or well-executed drinks for a Michelin guide restaurant. We ordered multiple rounds, and the “better” drinks we received were very simple in taste and presentation, and frankly drinks you could easily find/replicate at most bars or restaurants with a slightly elevated drink program. We did send back a drink we ordered after trying it, as none of the ingredients mentioned on the menu were perceivable in the drink we received. It just tasted of the main spirit, and nothing else. They did remove it and allow for a different replacement drink. What was really the let-down of this experience was the service. Again, something that should be at the forefront of focus for a Michelin guide restaurant. Our server wasn’t necessarily personable or helpful, and more of just a “what would you like to order” type of server. This situation is fine on its own, but certainly doesn’t do anything to elevate a dining experience. However our server became progressively more unpleasant throughout the evening. As they were setting the table/silverware in preparation for the next course of food, the server was literally dropping/tossing the silverware on the table. As in it was tossed at the table, smacked against it, and sliding along the table after it landed. Honestly shocked me that anyone at any restaurant would do this, let alone a Michelin guide restaurant. Also, in relation to the drink which we asked to be sent back that was mentioned above, when telling our server that it didn’t taste of any of the noted ingredients, they replied and said “I’ll go have the bartender taste this, and he will let me know if it tastes off. Then we can figure out what we can do about this.” I’m sorry, but if someone says the drink doesn’t taste remotely as described, I would probably first make some comment along the lines of saying sorry/it’s unfortunate it didn’t live up to expectations, and make a more positive comment towards remedying the situation. Not acting standoffish and saying you’ll go see ask the bartender’s thoughts and then “see what can be done.” Just a totally oppositional attitude towards the customer. The reservation was also booked with note of it being for a birthday. A member of our party then also walked to the hostess stand during the middle of our meal, and confirmed that the birthday was noted (which it was). Even after multiple confirmations, there was nothing special done. We even ordered a dessert, and there was no candle/note/mention of a birthday. I don’t know what more a customer could do to give the restaurant an opportunity to do something beyond confirming multiple times that they’re aware of the reason for the dinner. Overall a pretty disappointing experience on the service front. Even with good food, which as I mentioned seemed of slightly lower quality than previous visits, the multiple service issues truly gives me pause on any interest in returning. Totally subpar for any fine dining restaurant, let alone a Michelin-guide location."

"We were in the area. The staff was quick and friendly. We ordered the chicken marsala and the meatball grinder. The role they served was old and broke down when we tried to put some butter. I ordered a meatball grinder and got an eggplant grinder instead. I brought this to the waitress, but she told me I ordered the eggplant. The frits were good and fresh. I was disappointed. It seems like I ordered breakfast."

"Love Cathy's Place, my home away from home. The staff is friendly and welcoming, remembers my name and knows all my family members. I moved to Brooklyn over a year ago from WV and this place has become my haven. I always feel at home when I am here. Sometimes magical things happen too, like when the customers and the staff join in singing to Oldies playing on the Sound System. Food is home-made and very tasty. Don't go here when in a hurry as you will want to linger over your tasty meal and company."

"My friend and I met for lunch following a long hiatus due to Covid. We were hoping to renew our occasional get-togethers at Tribeca, a place we’ve enjoyed for sometime. The service was great, but the food was totally lacking in taste, presentation and quality. Our appetizer (bruschetta) was soggy and served on a bed of limp, discolored lettuce. Our salads (California) were delivered with hard, tasteless grilled chicken and a scant serving of avocado, limp lettuce and vegetables all a disappointed and well below the quality we’ve come to expect. While our server did waive the charge for our appetizer, the entire experience was a big disappointment. No “wow” factor whatsoever"

"Awesome food, great service.Highly recommend the steak, crab cake (they use no fillers), and the seafood salad you'll be amazed at the portion. It's not cheap but given the amount of seafood, it's worth the price. Love their bread basket!Rumors have it that they have the best fried chicken in town, even better than Gus's. I tried it during COVID for delivery and it's seasoned well. Didn't get a chance to try it this time.Stone crab claws are at market price.Reservations aren't required but recommended. It's easy to be seated during weekday and weekend lunch time."

"Had to make at least one last visit to Otium before it closes. The service was fantastic and the staff should be commended for how polite and professional they were. I could imagine it must be some stressful or sad times. Regardless, they were top notch. We were served the food we remembered that always made us happy. The old standbys. At the same time we tried new dishes that we never had. I complement chef for his imagination and the technique and quality that go into the dishes. The one new dish we never had was the seared scallops. The scallops were on point but the accoutrements that were part of the dish, took it to a new level. I was lucky enough to say thank you to the chef, as he was there. Yes we will miss this place. It will hold special memories of lovely dinners and brunches, of friends enjoying each others company, of being treated special by the staff, of delicious food that filled our hearts and souls. I hope the best for all here at Otium."

"This restaurant is definitely one of the worst places I have ever been to. The food was good, but the service was so terrible that I will not be returning. The waitress was cold, unfriendly, and incompetent. It took her at least 20 minutes to bring me my glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, causing me to miss out on enjoying it with the charcuterie board I had ordered. Strike one. To make matters worse, she served me my filet mignon cold. I have never in my life been served an entree cold before. Strike two. It took her at least 30 minutes to bring out the entree, neglecting my table while attending to others. Forgetting the wine is one thing, but forgetting the entree as well is just unacceptable. I will not be returning to this restaurant."

"We ate outside on the lighted patio. The table fireplace was perfect for a summer Telluride evening. The beet salad was wonderful. I had the Colorado braised lamb with local chanterelles. It was extremely tender and seasoned perfectly. My husband had the duck and thought it was very good. Overall, a lovely evening"

"After living in Houston for 40 years this restaurants has achieved my worst of all time for all cities I have visited. We had a 6pm reservation and arrived 8 minutes early. The Owner would not let us wait inside and made out leave the restaurant. It was 102 degrees out. My wife told the Owner it was ridiculous we couldn't just sit at a table and wait 8 minutes. He got rude and obnoxious with her. First restaurant we left after 2 minutes. If this post keeps one person from going to this terrible establishment, then the post has been successful. I guess since its a French restaurant they think they have the right to be rude. We walked down to Navy Blue, had no reservations and received great food and service. Avoid Rabelais at all cost unless you enjoy being in France and treated rudely. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"We are dinner here on Saturday night. The food was good. I can't say that it was great. There were some slight inconsistencies from one dish to another. For instance, my wife's risotto wasn't seasoned well and tasted bland. This could have been due to the size of our party (about 16 people total)and food being prepared quickly. However, the service was great and they have a very expansive drink menu featuring several hard to find whisky's and bourbons. I would definitely come back with my wife as the service and atmosphere was great to see if this was just an off night for the food."

"We were there for brunch the service was excellent and the food was divine. Best **** Mary I have ever had (and I've had them all over NYC and New England) We started with the pastry board which was delicious. The goat cheese omelette melted in my mouth and was paired with grilled asparagus that was perfection. Between all the members of our party we tried all the entrees and all were excellent. And desserts to die for!! A most wonderful and amazing meal!"

"We had hoped to dine outside with a view of the ocean, but the strong wind forced us to eat indoors, which was disappointing. The restaurant had recently replaced their tables and chairs with plainer, less comfortable ones, which I did not care for. However, I do appreciate the dark wood decor and the bar. Although I have enjoyed better meals at this restaurant in the past, the short ribs I ordered were not as good as what I make at home. The mashed potatoes and carrots that came with the meal were delicious. The other three people in our group enjoyed their meals. Despite these flaws, I still have a fondness for this place, especially when dining outdoors."

"We loved our fresh raw oysters. Also loved the Small Plates of Orange Chicken and Szechuan Noodles—they were an excellent combination to share. The Fried Fish Curry was delicious. The Asian inflections here are always interesting and tasty. Recommend exploring the extensive Classic Cocktails Menu—lots of tempting choices for a change of pace. We love the ambiance and decor here. It does get noisy, but the liveliness is understandable. The staff are good people, but service is often rather slow, so more staff could be a plus."

"positiw, our waitress was really nice, eating was very good. con bar service was terrible. it took 15 minutes to get our cocktails, and the explanation was that they run low on the glasses. I've never heard that before. then we ordered a bottle of wine with our escapes. Surprisingly, the glasses came away immediately, but lasted 20 minutes to get the bottle. we were almost done when it finally came."
