"Went for the dine la special, for prix fixe courses and desert. Showed up the first day of Dine LA for a reservation and immediately they inform us they are out of the meatballs, one of three apps choices. How in the world are they out of one of nine menu items early on the first night. First course: crostini with burrata and shaved black truffle. I was shocked to see the heaping amount of truffle shaved over the crostini’s orders they placed in from of me and my date. Once I tasted the extremely bland flavor and chalky texture of the truffles I understood. Simply poor quality. The dish was also severely under seasoned. Second course: spinach tagliatelle with meat sauce, and a lobster ravioli in saffron cream sauce. The tagliatelle was very overcooked, pasta was soft and soggy, not even close to al dente. The meat sauce was lackluster and tasted like salt and beef. The ravioli on the other hand was undercooked. The lobster inside had a fishy quality. It tasted frozen, and did not have the sweet savory flavor of fresh lobster. At this point complained to the waiter who then brought out the owner. I politely as I could expressed my dissatisfaction with the meal. He ensured me I was the only guest who had complained all night. Looking around the room, I was not surprised, it did not look like a crowd who could know and appreciate good Italian food.Took our third course to go, a New York steak dish and a pan grilled sea bass dish. Tried a bite each back home and they were equally unimpressive. Seemed like poor quality ingredients cooked lazily. All in all, If you are looking for Italian in the west side, this is not the place. Overpriced, poor quality, don’t make the same mistake I did and spend your hard earned money elsewhere"
