"We visited Mimi's Cafe in Ventura for the first time yesterday, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, featuring fresh ingredients straight from the farm! The croissant was absolutely amazing, and the muffins were fantastic! The servers and staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the enjoyable atmosphere. Plus, the prices are very reasonable!"

"I've been here for happy hour and liked the crowd and music as well as the drinks and appetizers, so I thought I would try out this evening meal. even if we made a reservation, there was no host to check with as soon as we came in, we had to ask two different bus boys and one waiter where we should go to sit and everyone seemed confused and we were finally sent up by someone and found an empty table and sat down. not a fan of layouts of space. all stands with real sitting facilities for dinner are reserved only for VIP sessions, as regular diner as my party eating dinner at the upper floor bar on hockern. not very comfortable. Moreover, the service was extremely slow. it seemed to be just a waitress who worked the whole upper area. it took forever to put only in our drink order. eating was okay, but not spectacular. I would never go back to dinner. the bar scene looked down and we first wanted to check it after dinner, but it took so long to order/pay for dinner that we just left after frustrated. if I go back, it'd be just for a happy hour."

"Took my husband here for his birthday. We ordered from the Sunday Brunch menu. It was really a great experience . Food was really good (coming from someone who knows how to cook very well and is usually dissatisfied with many restaurant's food). The live Jazz was a nice touch. Server seemed a little new, but she was still good...and pleasant. I will return soon!"

"Christmas in Old Alexandria with my family. Large group so options were limited. We found ourselves here and based on previous reviews we thought it would be good but we were underwhelmed. Seems like the consistent feedback from my group is that everything was almost good, but nothing hit the spot. Lacked seasoning, lacked a finishing touch, etc.; nothing special. Definitely won’t return. Very attentive server. Manager attentive. But it was Christmas Day so we appreciated having an option. We were starving and left full. Sometimes that has to be enough."

"This cake shop is outstanding, offering some of the best-tasting cakes and delightful dessert plates. Everything looked amazing, making it hard to choose just one treat. "We went BRIX in the pearl district of Portland on Sunday. Had not been back for a long time. This time my Partner invited his client and visiting parents from Seattle. He thought it would be nice to invite a party of 5 to Brix for brunch. This lunch was very disappointing. The Crab omelettes arrived cold. The hash browns were also cold. One person in the party ordered waffles with eggs and sausages. No syrup was offered or ever delivered to the table. Our impatient waitress Haley, rushed the bill to the table without checking in, to see if we wanted anything else. I felt as though she hated her job and could not wait to see us leave so that another party could take the table. I regret having brunch at Brix. I will not be back and warn anyone else looking for a good breakfast in Portland to avoid making my mistake. No point wasting money at Brix on poor quality food and the worst possible service. There are so many other great restaurant options available in Portland."

"VERY!! expensive, but the worst part was paying. I used my debit card, but they have a new system. Their machine wether you use a credit card or debit card it charges you $2.47. It does not ask if you agree to pay it and they will not tell you your paying it, it just charges you an ATM fee. Using a credit card it will be a cash advance and you will be charged by your credit card company as well. PLEASE BECARFUL. Also very rude service it's the customers fault all the time."

"I was not pleased with the food at all. The service was good, and our waitress was nice, and the place itself is quite charming. However, the food really missed the mark for me. No offense, but when I order tea and see “all natural” on the menu, I expect something different than just regular bagged tea. I paid $2 for what was likely the cost of an entire box! It’s disappointing to see such a mismatch between expectations and reality."

"However, when I got home, I discovered that the soup I ordered was very small and the container was damaged. The pie I ordered was completely melted and the potatoes had gravy despite us requesting them without. When I called to address these issues, I was told that the soup portion was correct and they could not refund the melted pie since I ordered online. They offered to replace it, but I would have to return to the store. The most concerning part was when my sick boyfriend tried to eat the soup I got for him and the container exploded, making a mess. Not only was the portion small and expensive, but the container was also not sturdy. The only reason I didn't give a 1-star rating is because the muffins were delicious and the young girl who helped me was pleasant. Unfortunately, the older woman I spoke to on the phone was unhelpful and lacked empathy."

"This place is SO cute from the outside, but when we walked in the hostess seemed cold and glared at us, wide-eyed, for a while before seating us. It felt pretty strange. Our server seemed nice enough, but I saw another server who was smiling and enjoying talking to her customers. I wanted that server instead, lol... The food was ok. My salmon was almost a little dry, but the dish as a whole was good. However, my husband's crab cake Benedict dish left a lot to be desired. The crab cakes were falling apart, the English muffins were NOT toasted (and when they're not toasted, they usually taste raw or doughy plus they were dry, there wasn't enough hollandaise sauce on the eggs, and the potatoes (home fries? were bland, dry, and a little cold. I personally like my home fries a little crisp, but they were kind of sad (I tasted one . The atmosphere was nice, and I loved the decor. The bathroom sinks looked gold, and it was clean. We didn't try any desserts or coffee since we were full, and I'm wondering if that's what regular customers like, especially after we saw a large table get seated. We probably won't go back unless my husband really wants to try their pastries. I'll have to see if they have any desserts that are gluten dairy free, but there may not be any options. It was a little disappointing, especially since this location gets 4.3 stars."

"Exceptional food in an authentic, non-demanding environment. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful, which added to the great experience. For bread lovers, there are 3 different breads, all of which are made there and are all wonderful. I stop on the way out of town to pick up bread and take it home to friends. My salad was fabulous and the vodka chicken pasta (a specialty) was cooked perfectly with a wonderful sauce. The specials change with the seasons. Desserts are all made there and everyone looked great. We share the ice cream on Sunday with homemade caramelized marshmallows and chocolate ganache. It was wonderful. You can share it with 4 people as it is very large. We will definitely have dinner here again when we return to Mayo and Golf."

"First time at Communal Restaurant and plan on going back again. When we arrived they told us the wait would be 50-55 mins, we decided to wait it out and there was no regret or disappointment. The service was amazing, bar none. The food was some of the best food I have had in Years! I seriously wanted to lick the plate, but I sopped up every morsel I could, leaving nothing to waste. The chef had a moment to talk, as I shared my incredible experience he was so humble and gracious. I would rate this establishment a 10 , the atmosphere was enjoyable, the staff was all incredible and the food exceeded expectations by leaps and bounds."

"Totally the worst experience we have ever had at a Perkins restaurant today. You know it's bad when the folk that arrived after you ordered your food have finished their food and you are still waiting for yours! What's worse is the food was lukewarm to cold. Manager did redo pancakes for us which were great, they offered to redo main dishes but we had already been there over an hour. Waitress was just not up to it, left us sitting, never checked on us, took forever to do anything and vanished for ages at a time. Apologies for forgetting us and was going to expedite our food......yeah, our faces didn't fit it seems. We will not be back to this Perkins, we always start our holiday at Perkins and this really was a total let down, thought the manager might have offered something off , however nothing other than a sorry and at least the new pancakes were hot! Location is fine, place appeared clean, toilets nice. Still not sure how a restaurant that has a greeter with only 10% of tables occupied has a queue of people waiting for tables. Something seriously disconnected here in all aspects."

"It's the night after Christmas. My wife and I are visiting from Mexico having dinner with my boys. A simple meal at Perkins turned into an unexpected pleasure. Jim the manager made us immediately feel welcome and the serving staff was responsive and kind even after the long holiday hours. They treated us like friends. Jim even got my boys to pose for pictures with us. (something they never do) Thanks for the wonderful meal and holiday good cheer, we will remember it for years."

"I wish I could give this place negative reviews! My mother in law, my wife, and I were in the area visiting family, and we stopped at this Perkins before heading home. We got our food, my wife’s bacon wasn’t cooked at all, my hash browns weren’t cooked, none of our eggs weren’t cooked the way we asked for them, my wife’s chicken on her sandwich wasn’t cooked right, my mother in law couldn’t eat her sandwich because it was too hard, our food was cold. Our appetizers were better than our entree. The server was rude, she would come ask how everything was and before any of us could answer she would bolt the other way. The manager on shift was rude after we explained to the server we wanted some compensation for our service and for our food, she asked what we would like done for it. My mother in law asked for the manager and he came over and had an attitude the whole time she was talking to him."
