She said yes, but over an hour had now passed and all we had was the menu. We had no idea if they had food prepared for us, or anything at all. We ultimately decided to leave because it felt like Debbie was avoiding us. By that time, the bride and the others had arrived and were aware of the situation, which upset us and her family greatly. It felt as if her special day had been ruined through no fault of our own.
Fortunately, we were able to get a table at a nearby bakery within 15 minutes. I then asked for the owner's name and email address so I could share our experience, and at that moment, the owner finally appeared from the back. We had been at Tilly's for over an hour, and although the owner was aware of the situation from the start because Debbie had informed her, she only decided to assist us now.
I genuinely felt sorry for Debbie, as it was not her responsibility to handle this situation; the owner should have taken charge. While Debbie's attitude was rude and unhelpful, the lack of accountability from the owner was appalling. We felt blamed for the mix-up when it was their fault due to a wrong phone number in their records. When I asked them to confirm the number they had written down, they couldn't even articulate it correctly. If you can't read your own writing, how did you make the call in the first place?
Overall, I would never return to Tilly's and would not recommend it to anyone."
