"A great lunch spot! There's definitely a way to work the budget at this place (sandwiches vs plates).Staff was very friendly, and the food was fresh. I got the Gyro with lamb; it was loaded with meat, and then also ordered labne and pita definitely hit the spot. The baklava was flakey and delicious.It's a Mediterranean spot with Iranian influences. I was looking to try a bit of everything so it was about $30 40 including tip. Honestly, I'm definitely going back. I could definitely make due with just the gyro and a side.Parking: Only a few spots available shares the lot with a Chevron gas station."

"While in Philly for a cousin's wedding, we stumbled upon Cilantro, and what a gem it turned out to be! The food was phenomenal, and the service was exceptional. From the mouthwatering mint tea to the delicious eggplant appetizer and the generous mix grill, every bite was perfection. "There's just something about liquor store delis that I just have an absolute affinity towards. And Handy's deli is definitely is one of the better delis I've been to in a very long time. The yelp photos is what made me come here. I don't always search out chicken shawarma but after seeing the pictures, I knew I had to give it a try and it was as good as the pictures. I asked for it spicy, and the chicken was juicy, right about of sauces, and very affordable at $10. It's big enough for two meals, especially if you don't have a giant appetite. I also got the frisco sandwich with Turkey on ciabatta. I thought this sandwich was just ok flavor wise. While it was still tasty, I just felt it was missing something spicy or a little heat. Again, the price of this sandwich though, I'd try it again but with chicken. The menu is massive with a ton of unique sandwich offerings. This is a perfect spot to stop and get sandwich for a park day this summer plus it's very affordable. Calling in the order is probably the right play here. Located right off 19th Ave on Irving St. the parking can be brutal, but there's a lot across the street or try getting a spot on the other side of 19th and walk over."

"I told my lover that he had ten minutes until I became full hangry bear ready to maul his face off. However , it was close to 9 pm. Every place we were walking to was already closing. Thank heavens Gyros gyros was open. Although it feel very much a hole in the wall we ordered the beef-lamb wraps and they were SLAPPING. Michael the cashier was patient as I didn't know what to order and stared blankly at the menu for quite a while. We moved to an outside table once a table opened up and he was quick to clear the table and provide sauce and napkins. "I see a couple of comments that I need to address first. No such thing as too much garlic. Also falafel is supposed to be airy and fluffy maybe you should visit the middle east once and be cultured. Coming back to the actual review. I am from Lebanon and this place came the closest to offering authentic Mediterranean food. A bit toned down to suit the American palette and I highly respect that. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this place!"

"If you wanna pay like $18 bucks for 3 4 lumps of burnt lamb jerky, look no further. The salad dressing was delicious though, so I poured it all over the meat, then dipped it in the tzatziki, and it made it palatable.Even smothered in tzatziki, the falafel is like the saltine challenge a dangerous, dry, choking hazard.I love grape leaves, so I enjoyed those but I wouldn’t say they were GOOD grape leaves.The rice was okay.Also, watch out. The olives in the salad have the pits still in ‘em. (That didn’t affect this rating. I like em. I just thought people should know."

"I 'll give this 5 stars for their wonder service.The people work there are attentive and hardworking and I can see that.The chicken shawarma.... "service was friendly and pleasant when we ordered our 3 meal to go. Unfortunately this was the only good thing about our experience there. all 3 plates were unpleasant and difficult to eat. the Gyro meat was quite hard and easy in comparison to others I was, the tzatziki tasted like mayo, could not taste any gurke. the dolmades had no taste, they were only very oily leaves around the muddy rice, and the falafels were overfried. the Greek salads were not good either. I hate complaining, but when we were there, because it had a 4-star rating, I felt it was good to contribute."

"Great Yiros and only waited maybe 5 minutes! We tried the falafel with spicy tzatziki and they were great-fresh veggies, good sauce and the falafel had a good flavor. A lot of places have falafel that has no taste. We also got an order of Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves) which were really good and you get like 10. Everything was clean and it's a cool atmosphere with a good amount of seating. Definitely would eat here again and recommend!"

"Best Halal/Shawarma dishes I've had in Austin. I made the mistake of deviating from my comfort food in Halal Bros to try The Kebab Shop and despite a higher or similar rating, it was no where near as good food as Halal Bros. At Halal Bros, the portions are bigger, the meat is better, the rice is better, their wonderful white sauce is better, everything. Check this place out instead. Love the Combo plate and getting loaded fries and adding meat on top."

"Having heard of The Halal Guys for years in NYC. Was super excited that they had opened up a few locations in SoCal. I ordered the combination platter, it came w/ generous portions of gyro and chicken meat w/ rice, pita, lettuce, tomatoes and a ton of the infamous white sauce (or hot sauce if you like it spicy). There are 2 portion sizes, I opted for the bigger portion size (reg). Overall the food was good, the meats were cooked well (not dry), I understand why the white sauce is so popular (So good, you could put it on anything). The service was fantastic (they were generous to load me up on some more white sauce). Now the negative. The location was a pain the neck for parking. The restrooms were pretty filthy and it felt like a sauna in the dining area. It was 100+ degrees outside, was hotter in the restaurant, it didn't feel like they had air conditioning. I would definitely comeback for take out or visit another Halal guys location. 3 Stars."
