"I was served a fried hot dog instead of the regular one I ordered, which was quite disappointing. They really should clarify this on the menu. To make matters worse, it was overcooked. I won't be returning for that. However, the Italian beef I ordered was quite impressive—that’s definitely what I recommend trying instead of the hot dogs."

"I drove quite a distance from Riverdale for a sub, but this was my last visit. They've started charging to use debit cards, which is frustrating. They also sell 1-liter sodas that expire on March 25th for $3.50, and they charge $1.25 for a small portion of jalapeños. I've decided to take my business elsewhere for good."

"I have ordered from this place many times in person and thru door dash. Lately while using DoorDash to place my order Spankys Continuously keeps messing my order up. I order a hot dog and fry that their menu clearly shows comes with a fry and drink and over and over they keep only sending a hot dog. I also very clearly order it plain as I do every time and every time they put everything on it. I even specified in the “special instructions what exactly I needed. This time I called Spankys to let them know what happened and was treated so rudely. I was even lied to by the owner I believe. He told me the hot dog does not come with fries and a drink when it does. I have ordered it in person many times as well as thru DoorDash. I was a customer but no longer will be. If I want good city food I’ll drive to the city. Decent food but horrible customer service.side note: me and my husband just went up there and they indeed offer fries and a drink with their hotdog."

They let 3 people black cut infront of us bc they ordered ahead but if they did why did they place an order again? ? why did we place an order and they gave it to us out of an order that 's been there sorry mike ? Why was the chicken from the people that cut infron of us fresh I could see the steam come out but ours hard and crusty? And YES THEY GAVE IT TO US UPSIDE DOWN TOO! We asked for extra mild sauce and were charged but the 1 black person that asked for it got it for free.Never going back. Listen to the hype with a deaf ear if your white. "Visited Midlands Inn while visiting the area and based on the reviews it looked like the right place for us. We were craving something fried so we started off with the appetizer sampler platter which came with fried mushrooms, onion rings, mozzarella sticks and French fries. All were really good. We especially liked the fried mushrooms and the French fries were amazing! We also ordered the hot wings which had a really good crust and the hot sauce was served on the side. We really liked these as well. For entrees, we had the 1/2 smoked chicken special (by recommendation) and a few bacon cheeseburgers. All came with fries, and those fries were wonderful! That's where it ended. The chicken was terrible. Not only did it not have any smoke flavor, but it was also very overcooked and dry as shoe-leather. It was really inedible. The bacon cheeseburgers were also over cooked and not very good. The French fries were really the only items from the entrees that we enjoyed. Our server was super friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our interactions with her. She was constantly checking in on all of her tables and very helpful. I would like to give another star just for her service but this review is really all about the food which I just can't endorse."

"I love this place! They are so hospitable and have a wide variety menu, I?ve switched up and everything I?ve tried is amazinggg! I?ve had a sub sandwich, Mexican tacos, catfish and wings and all were equally good! Not just Mexican or American food they thrive in any area which I?m always sketchy about. Please remember to tip the servers and staff they are so kind and work very hard! Here?s a picture of my carne asada made with HOME MADE TORTILLAS by the way and my boyfriends catfish and wings. Also margarita was great and pretty strong!"

I order a dinner , smothered chicken ,spicy greens cornbread dressing , and Mac and cheese also a passion fruit lemonade Y’all can do much better ! This food was horrible the food was so salty !! the greens tasted burnt and weren’t spicy at all the dressing was really sweet like a bunch of sugar was added and no flavor what so ever in the Mac and cheese also the smothered chicken was so salty I felt my blood pressure going up I would not recommend as a first time customer I was very disappointed and wanted my money back paid $25 for disappointment lastly the lemonade was the best thing popping"

"First time here! Absolutely loved the food. A friend recommended this after visiting their other location in Homewood. I ordered the lobster and shrimp stuffed potato. My boyfriend ordered the Philly steak and chicken stuffed jumbo potato. There's wasn't really anything to say, fan-tabulous... that night work. "While visiting with my family from Atlanta, we reserved a table at this restaurant. We were greeted with a smile and the staff, cooks, and waitress (Kalimah) were all amazing! Kalimah was very helpful with order options and had a beautiful and pleasant demeanor. The atmosphere in the small and quaint building was great, and the food was cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. The food was definitely worth the cost, and the mango lemonade was delicious. Two young guys were in front of me ordering and flirting with the young lady cashier and asked for a free drink one of the Arab guys in the back pulls out his gun like trying to intimidate them to move along YET that was so unnecessary! "I am not exaggerating... This is the best J&J Fish I've ever had! The catfish was amazing. It was fried and seasoned perfectly. The cuts of the fish are not thin. Just the right thickness. Each piece was a nice big size. The wings were fresh, well seasoned, and not over cooked and dark on the inside. I can not believe this was the first time I've ever visited. I called the order in and it just got ready when I arrived. Hot, fresh, well seasoned, juicy, and great tasting food. The prices were great too for a catfish and wing combo. I am in awe of this experience. Highly recommend. They have a new repeat customer! Wish I took pictures but the food was too good to stop and capture."
