"I took my sister for a wine tasting for her birthday and was very disappointed. The shop is a great idea in theory but unless you are stopping in to take wine home the tasting is poorly executed. We arrived promptly at our reservation time and waited over minutes, there was only employee working and he was helping the only other customer in the place. He did not greet us or even acknowledge that we were there, after about minutes passed with us standing at the counter, I asked if we could just sit anywhere. He said to help ourselves and that he would be with us shortly, he checked out the only other customer and while ringing him up, a couple walked in to buy wine to go, he asked if they needed help, still never coming over to bring us menus or even greet us. He helped them with their selection and checked them out while we waited another minutes, and right as he finished another customer walked in, grabbed a paint can and he checked him out. At this point we had been in the store without so much as a menu and we had a reservation that was booked days in advance. Finally the man comes over with menus and we ask a few questions, several of the answers about the chocolatewine, and winecheese pairings he was unsure of because the “chef” was out but would be back shortly. We order wine flights, a chef’s cheese board, charcuterie board, and the heavenly chocolate flight. Wait another minutes for wine because once again a customer comes in to buy bottles to go. While the gentlemen is finally pouring our wine flights, the “chef” returns. We watch her as she opens up processed meat containers to make the charcuterie board, and breaks off squares from chocolate bars for our chocolate platter. of my and of my sisters wines were substituted because they were out of the listed wines and this wasn’t told to us until they brought the flights to us. Wine was great, cheese was decent and the rest of the food was terrible and the service was horrible"

"We had a horrible experience here on a Sunday evening. We were sat a little after 6pm and waited 17minutes for our server to take our drink order. (And no it’s not because we were not ready to order when the server came, it’s because the sever dropped off waters maybe 10 min after we were seated and then came back 7 min later to take our drink order. drinks took quite a bit of time to be delivered-it was just wine. And then when we tried ordering pretzels they were out. We then ordered the artichoke dip and when it finally did come to the table they told us they were out of carrots so they gave us pita and tortilla chips. We finally ordered our entrees at 650p, Again, not because we weren’t ready, it’s because we barely saw our server. We finally got our entrees at 730p. So 40 minutes for 3 sandwiches and a salad. We witnessed the table next to us receive their meal before us even though they sat later than we did. We commented to the server this and she claimed they ordered before us which is BS, we saw them sitting there without water for a long time until they finally got water and a bottle of wine in front of them. The server just walked away from us. I ordered the beef French dip and it was basically raw inside. I complained and they said that’s how it’s supposed to be. I’ve had a lot of French dips and I’ve never had one so chewy due to it being undercooked meat. Sorry but that’s not how to cook a French dip sandwich. The manager came over and apologized and took it off our bill which was nice but we weren’t looking for that. We were so off put by the experience. I was treating my parents who were visiting out of town and we are completely embarrassed. I’ve worked in the F&B industry for 16+ year managing restaurants and I don’t remember the last time I’ve been this displeased with an experience."

"So we went into this with some expectations considering the wonderful-sounding menu and the generally positive reviews. Unfortunately, this visit did not turn out well. First issue - I called to make a reservation for a party of 12 (it was my birthday). The reservation was takenwithout informing me of the restaurant running "Summerlicious" and that the regular menu would therefore be limited. We were informed of this factwhen we tried to order the menu items that we really wanted to try. Not good. So after ordering our second-choice foods, we proceeded to wait for over an hour for it to arrive. You read that correctly - one hour for food that is not even cooked. It was cured/smoked meats, cheeses and two types of olives. We also had 3 pints of beer and a mixed cocktail. All of the above coming to $80. Now as horrificly overpriced as that is, I would not have complained about this if it weren't for the long wait and the already negative experience of the failure to inform me oftheir limited menu choices that evening. The manager on duty overheard me complaining about this and came over to tell me he is sorry for thisas the restaurant prides itself on exceptional service and the only thing he can say is "sorry" and that he hopes I give him another chance to make up the shortcomings of this visit on a future visit. However, for truly exceptional customer service, something should have been donethat evening. Perhaps a free dessert? Maybe a drink? I don't know, but something - anything - other than a vague promise of a future serviceexperience that may or may not happen? THAT is not in any way the customer experience that this restaurant supposedly provides. Oh, he alsomentioned that the one-hour wait for a charcuterie board that I could have prepared at home in roughly 10 minutes is due to the restaurant being"very busy". I would like to point out that this was a Saturday night. Staffing the restaurant is not the customer's problem at any time. The onus is squarely on the establishment. In conclusion, I am very sorry for the money I spent on a place like this. Especially considering that we live in a great city with an amazingarray of eateries that truly deserve your dollars for the food and experiences they provide. Nuit Social is a massive fail for me and willnever again be visited by any of the 12 of us. Save your money and go somewhere else."
