"I was looking for an elegant yet warm and inviting ambience to take a very dear “foodie” friend for her birthday lunch. I was not aware of the restaurant on San Vicente in Brentwood but it looked great on the website… it did not disappoint! Baltaire had it all. Service was impeccable (thank you, Perry and other staff), and it was the best meal I’ve had at a restaurant in a several years. Menu is varied and interesting with something for every palate and diet. Tables are nicely spaced and the garden patio is lovely. Valet parking makes one’s arrival easy. Highly recommended for any special occasion or when you’re just in the mood to treat yourself."

"We brought our family of 11, 6 adults and 5 children ages 6 and under, to eat at Uncle Jack’s after seeing Disney on Ice at the Gas South Arena. We had made a reservation so our table was already for us upon arrival. Our server was a young man named Austin. He was professional, kind, and attentive. Our meal was delicious!! Most of us had prime steaks. Two of us had salmon. The kids had hamburgers and chicken tenders. We also enjoyed delicious chocolate desserts. The location was perfect for after our fun adventure at the arena."

"we weren't back in a past, but we were so glad we did. crates led us through the lunch menu and we landed on the burrata and fried artichoke to start. is delicious an understatement. our cocktails were also delicious. blut orange martini and barrel aged old granddad manhattan. we had a few before we proceed with the bacon cheese burger and hanger steak wedge. both were satisfied and filled, but we had space for the molten buttercake. it was amazing! Tom helped us to finish our lunch with a cappuccino and a black martini, we recommend it very much. crates and tom were very well informed about the menu and made the afternoon special!"

"The service here was wonderful. We ate at the bar one night and in the restaurant/bar a couple nights later. Nick and Travis were both so genuinely nice and interested in their customers and provided great service. Food and wine were both very good! My only complaint was that when we were in the restaurant (which is still part of the bar) the music with so loud with such a crazy base that my friend and I couldn't talk."

"Nice view, good food, and cocktails, plus top notch service from Carlos and Andri. Highly recommend for any special occasion. Spanish Octopus: So tender, well marinated with fresh veggies and pickled onion. A must have. Scallop Pasta: The seared scallop is incredibly fresh and slightly salty, pairing perfectly with the pasta. The tomato sauce is fantastic. Wagyu A5 Striploin: A small 4 oz piece, but packed with a lot of fatty flavor and a melt in your mouth texture. Wagyu Tenderloin: Nice and tender with good flavor. Mac and Cheese: Kind of average. Aioli Toasted Asparagus: Pairs well with the steaks. Pommes Frites: A sensational taste experience. Layered potatoes with a flaky outside texture and buttery soft inside. Mind blowing. Trio of Sorbets: All flavors taste great. Chocolate Soufflé: Freshly baked and a good dessert."

"We sat at the bar because all tables were booked. The bartender is nice and knowledgeable. We had 2 appetizers; Fei mussels and green hummus, both were delicious( order bread if your having the mussels) For entre I had the NY strip with potatoes and asparagus; everything was perfectly cooked, to my personal taste the meat had a little bit too much salt. My husband had the duck breast with couscous, onions and carrots. The duck had a soft sweet taste, everything else was well cooked. And for dessert we ordered the peach Melba to share; it wasn’t a real peach Melba, it was 2 halves of peach with ice cream and almonds. A couple cocktails and wine and they were good too."

"This used to be one of my favorite spots but the food has really declined in quality (and last night was the thirds and final time in the last year or so that I’ve noticed). I’m disappointed. The gumbo was watery, the oysters were small and gritty (sometimes that can’t be helped, but they were pretty unappealing), and the fish and chips were soggy. I was actually a little bit embarrassed to have recommended this place to friends who joined me and had never been before. One of my friends who had eaten very little that day and was starving ordered the shrimp and grits from the restaurant week menu. It was a tiny portion with three shrimp that looked over cooked. I shared my fries with her because she was still hungry. Ridiculous for $40. Sadly I won’t be back. The service was very good though."

"We came to Celebrate our 38th Anniversary. We made reservations on a whim after looking up what we’re the best places in Laguna to eat dinner! It didn’t disappoint! Wow first we had reservations for 6:45 but were able to be seated earlier. Waiter was on top of stuff! Wait staff kept water glass filled with out even asking! Food was so wonderful ! My hubby had lamp chops, I had the bone in filet mignon, shared a salad, and fingerling potatoes and we were in heaven. The beer was even very tasty! He even brought an anniversary flan for our celebration! Such a wonderful celebration! We would so go back to their restaurant in a heartbeat! Thanks for making our time so wonderful!"

"I brought several important clients from out of town to Jax for dinner, and we had a fantastic experience. The food was exceptional, the service outstanding, and while the prices were on the higher side, it was well worth it. The atmosphere was lively and a bit noisy, which suited the crowd perfectly. We kicked off our meal with a selection of fresh oysters that were delightful, and for the main courses, we mostly chose fresh fish, which impressed everyone at the table. We were too stuffed for dessert, so I can't provide any feedback on that. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

"I been going to Mastros for many years and the service and food has always been exceptional until last night. Food was ok the Mac and cheese was super dry couldn’t fine the cheese. The service was poor. Our waiter did not provide the same service as the other tables that he was serving . First, my steak was undercooked I ordered my filet well done. Our waiter took back to the kitchen then after a few minutes he brought it back and it was cooked well done. Our waiter came to check if my steak was well done the second time which it was. After that one time he never came back to ask if everything was good or if we needed anything. He’ll pass by our table and wouldn’t acknowledge us he’ll just go ask the other people at the other two tables he was also serving. It’s very upsetting of not getting the same service as the other large parties he was serving. Every table regardless of the size party should receive the same service."

"I suppose it is difficult for a restaurant to live up to it's hype and high reviews, but those very things led me to be a bit disappointed in the overall experience. I thought I'd be wowed and I was not. It was okay overall but not worth the cost. Our food came out after a reasonable time, however our drinks had not yet been served. When they were finally delivered, they did apologize and comped the drinks without us saying a word to them, so the fact that they realized there was a problem and fixed it, seems like a good sign that they're on the right track."

"Located 1350 I Street NW. This is a rustic older restaurant with charm, great service and tasty food. Its very casual no need to be dressed up. It offers a welcoming atmosphere and no stuffiness. From its quaint tiny to middle sized tables, to its private rooms more suited for larger parties or receptions, you will be pleasantly surprised. This restaurant is known for its Raw bar and Steaks. The menu isn't extensive and not overwhelming. For appetizers we ordered oysters on the half shell and shrimp cocktail. The main course we had crab cake a little filler) sandwich with house salad and glazed salmon with couscous. The bar is a middle size equipped with TV's showing sports and CNN. Great old fashioned red stools and fully stocked but no they do not offer Heineken beer but Stella as a alternative. Service was very attentive and warm. Which we love.. This place is priced very moderately. You will not need to dig deep in your pockets to pay. Overall We enjoyed ourselves. Good atmosphere, good food and great convo. We give it a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best and 1 being the worst. We reccomend checking it out. Cute date nite spot."

"we were originally set in the bar seating area near the door and it was too loud and decorate. the host was nice enough to move us into the main dining area, which was calmer and more intimate. we have the bibimbap and peking chicken and both were exquisite dishes. very nicely prepared, tasteful and compact served. If we come back to this area, we would definitely come back."

"We were immediately seated with our open table reservation. The food offerings were high quality, with great selection, in a "Waldorf Astoria" setting of elegance. The staff was very personable. In the serving line , I had asked for sugar free syrup, but they said they didn't have any. (odd I thought), so I mentioned it to my server, who promptly smiled and said, ah but I do! and went and brought back a small cup of s/f syrup. I will be going back for my husband's conference in May (coincidentally at the same hotel) and I will definitely be making a reservation...I think I'll do that right now before I forget...."

"Amazing! Loved the simplicity of the menu. The food was not bossy or over the top. The flavors were well balanced and complimentary to each plate. The Maryland Crabs Cakes and Pork Ends were a great start. Dinner was the flounder and the duck. Both were tender and full of flavor without being snobby. This is up there with some Michelin Star restaurants I've dined at. A must when in Birmingham."

"the rear terrace seat was beautiful and had also a few swings, which was a big roll for us with an autistic youth. the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. that is where they shine. there is a small handful of vegan options on the menu and we ended up with a vegan cheese plate, the beyond burger and a beet salad. all were fantastic. I had the burger 's rival before (the impossible) and thought it tasted like cafeteria eating, so I was comprehending to try that beyond. the beyond burger was perfect and I added the spicy cheese from the cheese plate. the burger comes with a 'bistro salad' and it was spring green, assorted tomaten, gurke and knock. we visited family in the opposite of outside the staates and whiskey alley was every 's favorite meal in this week."
