"While I understand that Peruvian Independence Day is a busy day for Peruvian restaurants, my visit here was extremely disappointing. Although we had a reservation, as soon as we were seated we were told we had a 1 hour limit to eat. Once seated it took 10 minutes before our waitress came to see us. She didn’t tell us her name, didn’t offer us a drink menu, and didn’t tell us of any food specials for the holiday,…and though we saw her walking around she didn’t check back on us the rest of the time- almost as if she had completely forgotten us. Each time we had to speak to a different server or busboy to try to reach our waitress. The food was good and at about 45 minutes the hostess approached us to tell us we had 10 minutes- before we had to give up our table.. we had by this time already been waiting for 10 minutes beforehand trying to ask for a box for our leftovers and enquire about a dessert. She offered us to stay for the show and told us the price and we declined, and asked her to get our waitress for us. The hostess’ tune changed immediately from calm to flustered immediately and walked away with a “sure sure”…and again our waitress was nowhere to be found.. it seemed everyone was too busy. At last, we figured we wouldn’t have enough time to try a dessert or get another drink. After more waiting we asked a female employee carrying dishes to please help us find our waitress for the check.. another completely different server came with the check, we paid and promptly left. Overall, the whole evening felt disorganized and we were quite upset when we left. We hoped to enjoy a nice dinner and support a local Peruvian restaurant as we often do- but we left wishing we had taken our business elsewhere, specially for the amount of money we spent. We will not be back."

"AVERAGE PERUVIAN RESTAURANT WITHOUT WORKING AC!!!I really had high expectations and was so excited about coming to this restaurant, I've read the previous reviews and couldn't wait to enjoy a fantastic meal. However, it only took two bites to realized I was going to have an upsetting meal in the middle of Maspeth. We ordered, Ceviche Classico, Anticuchos, Chaufa de Carne, and Causa Rellena de Atún.The Anticuchos were lackluster in flavor and were overcooked, to the point that two slices were burnt. They were not season at all, if you ever had anticuchos you know the distinctive flavor they have. These ones were just drowning in boring disappointment. It felt embarrassing to keep adding salt to our dish!Ceviche classico was decent, it had a little tang, but the acidity was too high, some milk might've helped. (yes, milk! .I never had dry and insipid tuna in a Causa Rellena dish, in most cases you taste the lime and mayo (or any cream not here.Surprisingly, the Chaufa de Carne was exquisite and pretty good, it was the savior of the meal. Although, a little too oily for my taste, but it had enough zest to make it appetizing.I am not a big fun of loud music when I have a meal, but the singer on that Sunday afternoon was very good and had a smooth voice.FYI: careful when you use the bathroom, the stairs are very steep and you might need to hold on to the rails, specially for older adults and children. Also, it addition to the below the average food, this place doesn’t have a working air conditioning, which makes your meal very unpleasant."
