"A little disappointing for a five star AAA restaurant. First upon entering, I commented on the caution signage being so high it’s difficult to see and a friend of mine fell off that very step the last line we were there. I didn’t say it was last year but the hostess said, yes “others pointed that out “ and they were taking steps to remedy that situation. It’s obvious to me that that was not true, as that fall happened over a year ago and now I’m told they are “taking steps?????” The crystals in lighting fixtures throughout the dining room and foyer haven’t been cleaned in a looooog time! They were all murky and grey. Food was good but would prefer they offer a traditional menu as well as fix price. A little disturbing to see a young server coming to the table chewing some food!!!!! Our primary server was very sweet, however, never took our wine order until I asked, then very apologetic. Also in an effort to be respectful and accommodating, “of course” was overused to the point of distraction. Also, At A five diamond restaurant, I didn’t expect to be served a lemon for my water with several pits in it to be squeezed into my glass. Normally, i could exclude these things but at nearly a $500 evening for two. I expected excellence! It seems that Fearrington House doesn’t live up to the hype."
