"I had a small revelation this morning. With a few rare exceptions, I often find myself disappointed with breakfast restaurants. Today, I realized that it's because I always compare them to Hobee's, which just can't be matched. Over 30 years ago, when I lived in the Bay Area, my wife and I would regularly visit Hobee's, and we've missed it ever since we moved away. Today, we finally had the chance to go back and enjoy a wonderful breakfast. The coffee cake, the cinnamon orange tea, the DeAnza Bowl, and the High Hat Omelette—there's truly nothing like it in the world, which only adds to my ongoing disappointment. Clearly, we'll need to make the trip again...and again, or else we'll be forever sad."
