"This was me and my sister's first visit to the Richlee Restaurant. We had just spent some time in a local fine food store and were in the mood for a glass of wine and a fine Italian meal. The entrance to the restaurant does not give the "street appeal" that would suggest such a gracious owner inside and excellent food and wine. It so needs to have some beautiful greenery and white lights to create a welcoming "come in and have a great meal." Once inside, the restaurant has well dressed tables and low lights that suggest a calm and relaxing atmosphere. We started our dinner with the caprese salad which was nicely plated and had just the right amount of balsamic vinegar to complement the boccaccini cheese and tomatoes. For entrees, I had the ravioli and meat sauce which was just the right al dente consistency. The homemade sauce was amazing and reminded me of the authentic meat sauces that Italian Nonas make that simmer all day on the stove. My sister had the gnocchi which was tender and dressed in a light gargonzo and brie sauce. Amazing! Mennie Manangan is the owner and gracious hostess and entertained us with her knowledge of the business and her wines. She is very proud of her wines and we sampled a wonderful unoaked chardonnay and a chianti! It was a very pleasant evening and my sister and I left feeling like we had made a new friend. We would certainly love to come back when we visit Toronto again."
