"Things went downhill from there. The two servers (one male and one female) who took over in the evening were among the rudest people we encountered. We were left without a server for nearly an hour. When we tried to order more donuts and managed to flag the male server down, his first question was, "Who's your server?" We explained that we didn’t have one, but he didn’t help us further, leaving us stranded with no service.
I had to go inside to the register to request a knife, and the female server made a snide remark about needing it for a donut. I replied that it was a big donut, but she treated my request like a burden. Eventually, we flagged down the manager to express our dissatisfaction with the appalling service we had received. She offered a disingenuous apology and took $5 off our bill, which felt insulting given that we spent nearly $200.
As minorities, we felt overlooked, especially when we saw white customers receiving attentive service with warm greetings and smiles. It was clear that those two servers had no issue being kind or providing good service to other tables, but not to us. My friend and I will not be returning to this establishment, as we do not want to spend our hard-earned money only to be ignored and disrespected. We plan to contact higher management about this unacceptable situation."
