"Not my kind of place. The bar / tavern had screaming, loud customers on a day when there was no one around. Really a tasting menu, teen plate, teen servings, bad value for money. The waitress told me that the green peppers in my clam chowder were mild - they weren't and had to spit out with a burning mouth. Really embarrassing when I was treated. Instead, they gave me asparagus. Your only vegetable. They didn't notice that my water glass was empty and I had to request it. Backless benches to sit in the tavern / bar, but you can request an uncomfortable chair. Not a place where you, like me, eat a lot of healthy protein and vegetables. I don't like leaving a restaurant where I feel bloated with too much food, but I don't want to go hungry either. The coffee was good after the meal."

"We live close to Olde Towne and have always been intrigued by it, so we finally decided to give it a try. We watched a football game there, and I was initially concerned that sports bars could be too loud and crowded. However, the volume was just right; we could carry on a conversation, chat with our waitress, and still follow the game comfortably. The staff was fantastic, and our food arrived quickly, even on a busy night. We really enjoyed the garlic knots and hot wings. As a fan of hot wings, I was impressed by both the quality of the wings and the delicious hot sauce. Overall, we were very satisfied with our experience and will likely return for more wings and garlic knots."

"We drove two hours for my husband's birthday brunch on Sunday. We had hoped to sit outdoors and watch the freighters go by. The outdoor patio was closed and that was sad since it was such a lovely day. This was not mentioned on their website. Our server, Tony was personable and perfect. He was the best thing about our dining experience. We won't be going back since the food was just fair and a disappointment. There were several choices but the fish was mushy, the beef and peppers were chewy, the eggs Benedict were overcooked, the bacon was too salty. The desserts were substandard. The peach cobbler was made with canned peaches, the eclairs and strudel were still frozen. My husband did like the waffles, roast beef, ham and breakfast sausages. Others had told us the food wasn't that great but we wanted to dine outdoors so we took a chance. We should have listened to our friends and family."

"If you're looking for a fantastic dining experience in Virginia Beach, this is the place to be! We enjoyed an array of dishes, including ceviche, oysters, hush puppies, and a wonderfully unique seafood pot pie. The baked scallops with shrimp and crab were divine, and the blackened fish tacos were a hit as well. To top it off, we received excellent service and sipped on some fun cocktails. While parking is valet only—which might seem a bit unusual—it's complimentary, so don’t let that deter you from indulging in a delicious meal and a great time!"

"Valentines Day is always a sh*tshow downtown, but making a reservation on OpenTable, confirming we would get a nice table, and checking in with the restaurant to confirm the menu details was a total breeze. Exceptional service from the host staff during a stressful/crowded/over-demanding night, but my only disappointment was forgetting our server’s name because he deserved recognition for handling his section’s crowd. Lots of stuffy couples with their noses in the air, haha. Bravo to he and the rest of the wait staff last night. Well done. The chefs and kitchen already know how it’s done and continue to deliver year after year. I can always expect delicious fare that never disappoints."

"Unfortunately, they had run out of avocados for the avocado toast, and they were unable to make any modifications to the grits in another dish. It seems they don't recognize that some guests may not eat meat or might be gluten intolerant. The menu is quite lacking for those with dietary restrictions beyond mainstream options. The garnishes felt uninspired, but the highlight of our experience was Stewart, our waiter. We won't be dining here again."

"Our visit to Bridges was mixed. When I made the reservation online, the link asked if it was a special occasion and I said it was (Anniversary). There was a place to make a special request so I asked for a water view table. When we arrived a few minutes before our reservation time the hostesses were very unfriendly to the point of rudeness. Neither made any effort to greet us. One of them took us to a very ordinary table in the middle of the room. I told her we had requested a water view and pointed to another table not far off that was empty. She seemed annoyed but took us over to the other table. A couple who had a table right at the window finished up shortly after we were seated. If the hostesses had consulted with the wait staff they could have asked us to wait a few minutes for a table right at the window. But they did not…. Our waiter was stellar however and provided us with excellent and friendly service. I am sorry that I cannot remember his name. Our food was good but definitely not great. I thought my husband’s steak was a little tough and my scallops had an odd strawberry glaze that just didn’t fit scallops somehow. The scallops came on a bed of risotto but there were no side veggies. There was a Smith Island cake on the special’s menu which sounded delicious but the waiter regretfully told us that the cake had already sold out. The other dessert offerings were unexciting so we passed on dessert. The views were beautiful and we enjoyed ourselves but we got the sense that this restaurant relies too much on the beauty of the setting and not on the quality of the food."

"Aruba Beach Cafe is located right off the beach on a dead-end block. Foot-traffic can be heavy during the day but it's an awesome place to grab dinner and a beer either with friends or family. The Cafe is comprised of three separate bars inside, all of which have tvs for games. Additionally, on the night I visited they also had a live band, which was actually good (cudos for that). The bartenders' pour are true counts, meaning if you ask for a double, you will actually get three ounces of liquor rather than traditional two ounces (coming from a bartender). Additionally, the place is very clean with very customer-oriented friendly staff. The bartender that served me was Angel and she was just tremendous! It also offers valet parking, but you can spring for street-side public meter parking if you'd prefer. Overall, the place is very clean, has plenty of room both indoors and outdoors for dining and an overall great atmosphere! Highly recommend! When my pictures were taken it was nearly closing time so that's why the umbrellas were down and not many patrons, but during the day it is much more lively!"

"We didn't realize that our annual Christmas season visit to the Old Mill Room would be transferred to the Racquets location due to construction and renovations of the Old Mill Room. A plate was returned and I was charged anyway. The atmosphere is basically a gym. It should not be listed as a restaurant. It was very bad quality cafeteria food. We should have walked out but we were optimistic. We had all traveled hours to meet one another for a holiday brunch and couldn't readjust our schedules. If we had known it would be that bad we would have all gone elsewhere."

"Dined with my husband for our anniversary. It is a very pretty place with an elegant nautical theme. The wait staff was very professional and polite. I had a raspberry martini and it was outstanding. My husband's old fashioned was equally delicious. I ordered the scallops with mushroom risotto. Omg, I ate every bite. The hubs had fish and chips and was very pleased with the dish. To my surprise our delightful waitress brought to flutes of pro secco in honor of our anniversary. I indicated on our reservation that it was our anniversary. I have never received anything special when I indicated I was celebrating an event. And it was very good. Excellent experience. I will definitely dine there on my next trip to Williamsburg."
