"First, the chips and salsa: the salsa had just the right balance of flavor and spice, and the chips tasted fresh and house-made rather than straight from a bag, which is a big plus. They even serve complementary refried beans for dipping, which are tasty!
Next up is the horchata: it was homemade—what more could you ask for?
For my entrée, I chose the combination plate with a chicken enchilada, a shredded beef enchilada, and a tamale. All of these were delicious! However, I did find that the chicken and shredded beef in the enchiladas could have had a bit more flavor on their own; most of the flavor came from the sauce and cheese on top. Nonetheless, it was still very enjoyable. Plus, the portion sizes are enormous—I was able to divide my plate into two full meals, and the leftovers reheated well. Their guacamole is also quite tasty!
My husband went for a smothered burrito and had a similar impression regarding the meat—more flavor would have enhanced it—but he really liked it overall!
As for appetizers, we tried the melted queso dip with chorizo on top, and it was absolutely delicious! Yes, it’s likely quite calorific, but definitely worth it. Just a heads up, it was also quite greasy."
