"Hello and this is the first time that I visited this place. I have wanted to visit for awhile, because I am looking for a good breakfast and lunch spot. They open at 8 am and close at 2:30 pm every day. Mondays, they are closed. I was trying to figure outwhere to park. No street parking. They have a parking lot, where other businesses have the ability to utilize for theircustomers. There is a kiosk where you pay your money, different rates for different times. A quarter purchases 30 minutes forexample. I received a receipt and away I went. When I arrived, about noon, I was promptly greeted by Kaysee, who was anemployee. I said, I was interested in takeout and Kaysee handed me a menu. They also have dine-in. There is a good amount ofseating available. Also, there are bar stools for counter eating. The menu looked great, with a lot of choices to choose from. Idecided on a Caesar salad with chicken, a cheeseburger and a turkey club sandwich with side orders of sweet potato fries andtater tots. The cheeseburger was $12.00, the Caesar salad w/chicken was $14.00, the sweet potato fries were $7.00, the tatertots were $5.00 and the turkey club sandwich was $14.00. The subtotal was $52.00, tax was $3.12 and the total was $55.12. I paidin cash but there were other payment options available, like debit and credit card. It didn't take long to receive my food, like15 minutes and everything was wrapped expertly in styrofoam containers and placed in a paper bag with napkins and paperutensils. I must say that Kaysee and the owner were very friendly and cordial folk. I asked Kaysee how long the diner was thereand the owner said about eleven years. The food was delicious when I arrived home for lunch. The sweet potato fries were thehighlight of the lunch!! I will return. Happy Holidays!!!!"

"My family and I’ve been coming to Dengeos for over ten years. Today I’ve experienced the most absurd, rude, inconsiderate customer service of my life. I ordered a chicken philly sandwich with no mushrooms. When I got to the register and the young lady was charging me for my order, I noticed instead of removing mushrooms they added them to my order. So I kindly explained to him that I didn’t want the mushrooms, but I also didn’t want them on my sandwich. The gentleman that always wears the hat and has glasses overheard and told me “I didn’t ask for no mushrooms, that I asked to add them to my order”. I don’t eat mushrooms never have so I explained this to him and told him that “I don’t mind picking the mushrooms off my sandwich but I don’t want the order of mushrooms”. Instead he continues to tell me over and over “that is not what I said that I ordered mushrooms and that he took my order”. At this point I told him that “Im not going to continue the back and forth”. Not only did it make me uncomfortable but I can only feel for the young lady that was handling my order. I told the gentlemen “ instead of continuing to tell me what I’ve said, you could have acknowledged that their might of been miscommunication and apologized”. Then just waived him off because at that point I was done with him. Didn’t even bother to ask for his name because he was just so extremely rude. It’s extremely unprofessional and for all my years spent in the service industry I cannot believe what I’ve encountered today. It took everything in me not to walk out of the restaurant today, but unfortunately I do not believe I will be returning."

"I will start by saying that the people here are awesome and were our favorite Chicagoans during our visit out of the places we visited! Jan and Aerial were awesome during our visit make the service during the experience grand. When we walked in we didn't know what to expect as we had only heard about Nando's from Insider Food's YouTube channel in their Food Wars segment. Upon entering Nando's we were immediately greeted escorted to our table to sit down. We learned that you ordered from your phone which was immediately sent to the kitchen and brought to your table. It was recommended that if we hadn't had Nando's before that it may be a good idea to order our chicken plain then you can take some of the different levels of sauces to figure out what you like....an awesome experience we'll find out later. Our water was brought to us and they also bring a convenient small refill pitcher for you as well. It's kinda a fast food sit down experience all at once because the food does come out pretty quick. We ordered the honey peri-peri chicken wings and also two of the $10 lunch meal deal chicken breasts that come with a side and drink. The honey wings were great, just the right consistency on the honey sauce of not being too thick or thin great sweet heat flavor. I think these are new so if you have been to Nando's before but haven't had these give them a whirl. The chicken breast meals were good too, juicy chicken and as aforementioned plain so that we could try the sauces. It turns out that I really like the medium or medium with wild herb....the hot and extra hot were good too but not egregious hot like you would think, it's more of a different flavoring then bringing a burning to the experience. I can't speak highly enough about getting recommended to order in this way the fact that Nando's does this makes it awesome....it's nice to get the bottles and try the full array of sauces to see what you like instead of fully committing to one sauce without knowing what you are getting into. I wish more chicken places made this an option, but nevertheless it has made me a Nando's ambassador in many ways as a result of this visit experience. The sides were good too, garlic bread and mash potatoes were very nice. If you've seen the Insider Food YouTube video for Nando's US vs UK review I disagree with the US reviewer's perspective of the garlic bread being strange...I found it quite nice but in fairness if it was delivered it may not have been the same as the in-restaurant level that we had. The music that plays in the restaurant also gives you a South African feel as well we found out. It's a good music level as well, not too much...just enough to enjoy. The decor is also South African sourced it seems based on what we saw on the card on our table. It's a full immersive South African experience right in Chicago it's a good one in my opinion. I HIGHLY recommend giving Nando's a try, I think you'll find that it's an awesome experience!"

"Dropped the Heir off around the corner for a concert, looking for a bite, and Perfectly Frank was literally right across the street from where I parked. Clearly a sign from the gods of delicious food and low prices. The young man at the counter asked if I was dining in or taking out, and on hearing that it was my first time here, explained everything and told me that if I was dining in, I could just sit anywhere. I tried looking at the menu, but the waitress popped up almost instantly. I asked for coffee, but they close in 45 minutes so when she said she 'd make some, I asked for sweet tea instead. It was excellent- not so sweet as to hurt my teeth, but sweet enough to satisfy. Making up my mind was HARD, y 'all! I pretty much wanted one of everything. Finally I settled for a Hash Brown Smash $5.09), which is a sausage patty, a fried egg, and cheese, served between two hash browns. A little greasy, but my arteries were feeling a little soft lately anyway. It was delicious- bog standard sausage, expertly cooked egg, nicely melty cheese. The whole was certainly more than the sun of its parts! My side of seasoned fries $2.39) seem to have been seasoned mostly with salt and pepper, but she brought me a bottle of their signature homemade hot sauce, which more than made up any deficiency. When I first came in there was a sign -handwritten on a paper plate taped to the wall, an excellent sign- advertising Island Pie. Supposed to be mango and coconut and such. Sadly, it had already sold out, which is probably just as well, as full as I was after supper. The check was actually just cryptic initials on a Post-it note. ST. HBS. SF. Service was great, food was everything I wanted it to be, and with tax, the whole thing came to $10.99 before tip. I almost never come to Norfolk because I despise driving down here, but I 'm actually already looking forward to my next trip! TL;DR: Hot, cheap, and good, with bright and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended!"

"I took our family to this Baker's Square today because we hadn?t been in a long time (since before the pandemic . We also had plans to meet with some friends of the family. I hadn?t remembered exactly what they had on their menu, well, other than the deserts! Upon arriving (around 12 , the restaurant's waitresses sat us in a timely manner. The atmosphere was pleasant for the most part. But there were some uncontrolled kids, so that was a little annoying because it was disruptive for a good 20-30 minutes. The waitress got us our drinks and checked in on our table several times while we waited for the family friends, to make sure we didn?t need anything (so A+ . Our friends did take a while longer, so some of the staff was a little confused/concerned about what was going on since they weren?t directly involved with the table. After eating we also stayed a little longer, and they continued to clean our table and check in on us! We were also dealing with a trainee, but she was great! Everyone was kind, respectful, and patient throughout the entire experience, inconveniences and all! I ordered the ?Baker?s Omelette? and it was delicious. It came with hashbrowns and a side of bread (I ordered the blueberry muffin . The omelette was loaded with ham, mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes, and other vegetables. It was seasoned nicely, and even better with the side of hashbrowns, which were portioned generously. The hashbrowns were pretty traditional. For most people this combination would be filling, but if you want more you could substitute the muffin for pancakes. The muffin was really good. It was extremely moist all the way through, with a slight sweetness in every bite. Then the blueberries were good too (not the freshest, but still good . This is a solid choice for breakfast (which is all-day at this location . Another person in our party got the burger. They said it was very good. The buns were toasted so the burger wasn?t too soggy (because it appeared soggier than I was told . They said the fries were also good. The food was gone 10 minutes later. The burger was a good size and came with several of the traditional burger toppings. We also ordered other foods, but only got an additional photo (sorry we were all so hungry! After lunch, we got several pies. The pies in the picture were lemon meringue (left and lemon supreme (right . I mean, what can I say. These did NOT disappoint and we LOVED all the pies! The lemon supreme is similar to a lemon bar but lighter and with a more vibrant flavor (and in a pie form . We?ll definitely be coming back to try these delicious dishes and pies, and to try other unique dishes and pies that this location has to offer! Feel free to check out the pictures!"
