"We walked in at 5:30 and saw the manager/owner holding a staff meeting at the bar. Someone came and seated us and left us there to go back to the bar. We picked up the wine menu and turned towards the bar so that they would see us but they ignored us. the couple we were waiting for came a few minutes later and walked them selves over to the table as the meeting was still going on at the bar. the manager saw us and ignored us. A staff meeting should’ve been moved directly to the open back room when customers are coming otherwise they should lock the door and not let people in. It was a bad unprofessional experience. We were hoping to sit at the bar for a few minutes before ordering dinner the four of us finally got up walked to the bar and they had to go find the bar chairs and move them over. Bad experience overall. Not sure if we will return."

"This is one of my favorite bars! They’re open late. The vibes and food never disappoint! If you’re ever served by Amir, tell him I sent you. The star of the show food wise is the butter chicken pizza! No matter the time of day, I make sure to order one. I never knew I need this in my life. Upon my last visit, I tried a few other things. The dip trip was delicious and shareable of course. My favorite might’ve been the buffalo chicken dip. You can choose between bread or chips to dip. The nachos as well were cool. They had the freshest jalapeños on it. My friends love the wings as well. They have patio seating where you can play corn hole or sit by a fire pit."

"The food here is amazing! Kebabs and trimmings were fantastically cooked and the waiter was very attentive and pleasant. It isn’t cheap, but the platter we had was certainly worth it. The interior is very basic, but clean and as long as the food is great does it matter?! My only negative is that there is one guy there (the chef? that smokes out the front of the restaurant in between service. Any other place than out the front would be a suggestion."

"This authentic Turkish restaurant is located at the heart of downtown Brooklyn yet it?s far enough away from the clamor. We loved the food. Their tossed salad and pilav were on point, their kebabs were also well marinated. They gave the traditional rice pudding a twist by adding vanilla and topping it with ground cinnamon. The service was friendly and the owner ? treated us to Turkish coffee. Their prices are reasonable for what they offer and considering the location. They also had a nice outdoor seating with cute lights. Definitely recommend and will be returning"

"This restaurant is a fantastic place for dinner during the week. I tried the Turkish wine, lamb chops, and stuffed cabbage, and everything was delicious and well-seasoned. The sesame flatbread served at each table was piping hot and one of my favorite dishes in the neighborhood. And to top it off, a $10 glass of wine? Everything was a win in my book."

"for years we have been eating in the original akdeniz (19 west 46th street.) in which it was the original akdeniz that recommended us this restaurant (310 west 53rd street) when it was already booked. at the time, the original acknowledgement assured us that everything is the same in the newer acdeniz. but unfortunately this information was not correct. the new akdeniz has not prix fixed dinner, has not raki or ouzo (no alcohol license), and has not so many desserts. [ Fortunately, the auberginensalat was just as delicious. my salmon grape leaves were less abundant than usual and the fish of my man was overfished. Of course, although the owners were pleasant and tried to meet, we are wounded with a higher bill for much less satisfying food and drink. we will look for another restaurant when we go to the west 50s to the theater. last Friday we went to studio 54, a comfortable but disappointing restaurant choice."

"From the outside, this restaurant is underwhelming: A small storefront on First Ave so small and typical that it hardly stands out. But, both in hunger and on a leap of faith, my friend and I gave this place a chance, and we are glad we did. Inside, the restaurant is surprisingly tastefully decorated and has more seating than I would expect for such a small storefront. We were seated on the upper level by the small bar on a quiet weeknight and were immediately served, given that there wasn 't much of a crowd in the middle of the week. Though the prix fixe menu was tempting $28 for an appetizer, entree and dessert), both my friend and I opted to split the small appetizer plate and each get a small plate of our own. For her, that small plate was a lentil soup; for me, the octopus salad with feta $3). Everything that came out was delightful and great for sharing minus the soup). The small appetizer place came with 5 cold appetizers of our choosing and delicious warm bread to smear it all on. My friend is gluten free, so they even brought her a plate of crudités for no extra charge. The octopus salad was well dressed in olive oil and the octopus to salad ratio was perfect! Though I was full from the appetizer plate, the salad made a great lunch the next day. The only reason I won 't give this restaurant 5 stars is the prices for what you get, I did feel this was a bit pricey, but I don 't think this will stop me from coming back!"

"Just a super solid neighborhood spot, huge indoor dining compared to a lot of local spots nearby. They also have a big outdoor patio. This place was bustling all through the pandemic and they are even open late night. It’s a middle eastern cafe/diner vibe. Memo’s is fast casual for sure. Huge grill in front, lots of desserts and they have their own delivery service (call them directly to support and cut out third party fees). The tabule salad is freaking delicious and fresh. Loved it paired with the hummus on their homemade bread that comes toasted on the side. Chicken soup is basic and fresh and straight to the point with a tomato based broth and tons of chicken chunks. The lentil soup tastes super “ healthy”, it’s rich and delicious. Loved it. I usually get their lamb gyro which is always good on the go. If you live nearby this could easily become a regular spot for you. Its fresh, no frills, straight to the point, FAST, reliable and always open."

"I recently moved from Virginia and decided to try Turkish Lazuri Cafe based on the many recommendations I received. I must say, it was absolutely delicious and as clean as advertised. The waitstaff were exceptionally attentive and friendly, making sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. The service was impressively quick; we weren’t kept waiting at all, and everything was served fresh and hot. We tried both the Lahmacun and the Adana kebab, which were crispy and flavorful—truly reminiscent of authentic Turkish cuisine. The restaurant itself was spotless, and the menu boasted a wide variety of options that I thoroughly enjoyed. The prices were reasonable given the quality of the food. Thank you for the excellent service; I highly recommend giving this place a try!"

"For Koreans from Soviet Union who misses the native meals this place is absolutely for you. Due to quarantine it is to go order only. Which makes you feel safe. Well packed for driving couple hours and decent portions. Very nice and kind service. Absolutely affordable prices. Highly recommended by me. Everything tastes fresh and just yummy. And by the way not spicy at all. All spices are on the side. Thank you for staying in business and we are happy to support you!!!"

"Absolutely delicious! For appetizers, we indulged in some Middle Eastern delicacies: Fried Halloumi, Arayes, and Hummus with pita. Everything was fantastic! The halloumi was wonderfully squeaky and salty. The arayes reminded me of a Mediterranean quesadilla, minus the cheese, and who can resist hummus? I went with a group of over seven people and ordered the lamb chops for $25. This dish came with four pieces of lamb, some vegetables, and the choice of rice, lentils, or fries. As you can see in the photo, I chose the fries. I also had a chance to try my friend's lentils, and I have to say, they were delicious too! They had a rich flavor, enhanced by caramelized onions. I asked the server how the lamb would be best prepared, and she recommended medium-well. She was absolutely right; it was the perfect way to enjoy it. For dessert, we brought a small cake, and the servers kindly sang happy birthday to us. To end the evening, we ordered some hot tea and coffee, which were both outstanding. The coffee had a deep, non-bitter flavor, reminiscent of espresso, with a lovely residue left at the bottom of the cup. Overall, I would give this experience a 5/5!"

"I adore this place. First let me know that when you first go in, the vibe and atmosphere are awesome. Looks fancy but relaxed at the same time, which is a great combo. And there is a big mirror right in the front when you walk in so you can do a quick “Do I look OK?” check. Not a big deal for some people, but I liked it. OK, so let me get to what everyone really cares about… the food! I really enjoyed the food. The appetizer we had with the hummus was really good. And hummus is a big deal. Lol. For dinner I had a chicken kebab, which was one of the best in my opinion because the meat was so tender and flavorful. Also the rice that it came with had such a nice taste. I was too full for dessert (and for me that’s crazy! , but I did have a couple bites of my friend’s. I especially loved the fact that management (and staff there cared so much and made sure our experience was great. When you go to a place with great food, service, atmosphere, and love, what more can you ask for. Try this place."

"This restaurant is run by a bunch of crooks. Dishonest people. They charged an unauthorized $58 tip to my credit card for my food delivery. They promised to refund us our money, but then stopped responding and told our credit card company that this was an authorized charge. These people should be in jail. They have just lost thousands of dollars in business. Food is ok, but I'd rather go to a different restaurant where they don't try to steal your money. They are now being investigated by the Better Business Bureau and the NY State Attorney General's Office"

"This Bangladeshi hangout spot, popular with cab drivers and locals, is still a work in progress but remains one of my top choices for delicious spice and flavor! If you're not familiar with Bangladeshi cuisine, you may encounter a language barrier and have lots of questions, but I can offer some helpful pointers. I've suggested to the staff to display a menu with prices or daily specials to make ordering easier for English-speaking customers and reduce wait times. I recommend ordering smaller portions to avoid feeling overwhelmed by the generous serving sizes - try requesting half portions of rice, meat, and vegetables. For a quick snack, there are plenty of options available, such as Samosas, Singara, beef patties, and chicken patties, all priced under $5. My personal favorite is the chicken patty sandwich, served with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, and white sauce on a fresh piece of naan bread. Absolutely delicious!"
