"Good food, but questionable customer service. I ordered an iced coffee, server asked if I wanted vanilla and I declined. We were charged the extra cost for vanilla anyways, and the cashier did not seem happy with amending it. Which was then amended to $4 more somehow... when we went back, they seemed even less happy about amending that. It's a trivial amount of money but it's the principle. Good and fair customer service would make it right without hassle or attitude. Edit: not sure how to respond to the owner's response below. This happened around 11:30am today at the San Mateo location, and we dined in. Appreciate the offer but don't worry about the iced coffees, we won't be returning. Just please ensure your workers have sound morals."

"I've had breakfast here, mainly for convenience, on and off for years, but overall, the place looks feels tired, dated while not outright dirty, just clean enough to pass inspection. One of the most annoying things when is that 90% of the tables are not level and rock. The menus look beat up breakfast is priced on the high side. The scrambled eggs look taste flat greasy like you'd see at a cheap dinner. I asked for crisp bacon, which arrived limp greasy and the potato pancake was so dense tasteless, it is comparable to eating a hockey pock. They bagels are freshly baked, and they have a carry out counter that does a brisk business. I believe this is a family business, and I love to support individually owned restaurants, but the wind feels like it's gone out of their sails, and everything is just... adequate. A fresh pair of eyes is needed to restore this to any place worth visiting beyond picking up bagels to go."

"I had a wonderful brunch experience at this traditional American restaurant and would definitely give it a solid 4-star rating. The service, particularly from Carlos, was excellent and we felt well taken care of throughout our meal. Our table was chosen carefully to accommodate our stroller, and our coffee and food were served promptly with a smile and some lighthearted morning jokes. The menu offered a variety of affordable and generous-sized dishes, including 6 types of Benedicts to choose from. I would recommend trying the Linguica Benedict with hash browns, but there are plenty of options to suit any taste. The pie selection was excellent and the coffee was good, rounding out a satisfying dining experience. Overall, I was very pleased and will definitely be returning for more. Thank you, Buttercup!"

"I expected to pay $11.25 for a salmon Benedict and a little more for a cup of black coffee, but my bill ended up being over $24. The breakfast specials board was obscured by patio furniture, and the menu had a section labeled "breakfast specialties," which are not the same as breakfast specials. The hostess mentioned that many customers have been confused by this, which raises the question of why they haven't updated their menu or made the distinctions clearer for patrons? Be sure to confirm prices before you order! I'm fine with paying $24 for breakfast, but I find it misleading when menus and prices are not clearly communicated. As a native of Bgame, I won't be returning. Additionally, I noticed that the shredded cheese taken from the kitchen was moldy at the bottom of the container, so it definitely wasn't fresh."

"Customer service is good, the pancakes are amazing, and the taco salad with grilled chicken is pretty good. I'm not wild about the desserts and the homemade biscuits are horrible. They're very hard and crusty. We didn't like the salad dressing either but with extra salsa, we didn't need salad dressing. For reference, the dressings we got were balsamic vinaigrette and thousand island dressing. Not sure if the other ones would have been better. We will be back for the pancakes. They do make the best pancakes! Better than IHOP and Denny's for sure. I highly recommend signing up for their birthday club on their website because then you get a free Bear's choice breakfast with no purchase necessary during the month of your birthday."

"Me and my wife visited this location for dinner, one of the waitress told us to sit anywhere we'd like, there were 2 waitresses, and the one that helped us seemed to be in a rush, eventhough she said hi, she asked us if we were ready, we said not quite ready and she walked away, the coffe we got was cold and seemed to be sitting in the pot for a long time, she came back and took our order, we ordered a sampler appetizer that came at the same time as the dinner, my Philly cheese steak was good and hot, the French fries were cold, my wife ordered the taco salad and had a good presentation but as she started to eat it looked like they chopped 3 hamburger patties and placed them on top of a handful of lettuce, the waitress disappeared for a few minutes and we had to call the bus boy so my wife can order something else, then the waitress came and we told her the situation and she rolled her eyes and took the new order, the she came and dropped the French toast which half wasn't cook all the way, she never came back to check on us, finally she came and slammed the check on the table and walked away, we didn't want to complain about the food cos she might think we wanted free food. Anyway we always go to country inn in prospect. But tonight we wanted to give it a try here. It's sad how restaurant business is not what it used to be, nowadays owners managers are so greedy that the only thing they care is to make money, and servers see that if they are careless(owners and managers) of course nobody cares, I used to work for a long time in the restaurant business and was totally different great service and good food( this is the second order we got. Just to prove that is not BS!!!!"

"An overwhelmingly delightful experience. Comfortable seating inside and out, with a warm, mellow ambiance. My server(and bartender) was exceptionally friendly, thoughtful, and efficient. My cappuccino was frothy, flavorful, and the perfect temperature. My banana rum French toast was plentiful, with large pecans and gorgeous ripe bananas. If you like bananas foster, the gentle whisper of rum brings a snappy bite into the sauce, there was plenty on the side to be decadent with. Additionally, a personal pitcher of syrup was provided for those with a sweeter tooth than mine. Overall, highly recommend, I will be back!"

"Lunch was fantastic! The BLT was spot on, and I always request crispy bacon – they nailed it! The bacon was cooked to perfection, and the tomatoes were incredibly fresh. The sandwiches were just the right size, so I could comfortably take a bite, yet the portions were generous. The service was quick, and our waitress Liz was not only friendly but also very attentive and personable. The restaurant was clean, and the retro decor added a nice touch. "The service at this restaurant is excellent and the food is delicious. We ordered the pineapple cake and the cooktop omelette, both of which were very tasty. The steel cut hash browns were outstanding and unlike anything I've had before. Our server was attentive, promptly refilling our coffee and making sure we had everything we needed. "George’s Corner is like an America burger house/pub. You have a wide selection of cocktails, spirits, beers, wines etc. The food wise, traditional burger, sandwiches, ribs, wings. We order the lamb burger, definitely something different. Every bite, you get a mouthful of lamb, with some kick from the onion. To make things better, the lamp paddy just flows with juice. The rib falls of the bone for sure, but I personally think it is a bit tough, not super tender. But the taste is great, no bad over all. There are only a handful of places open late in Saint George, George’s Corner is one of them. If you are looking for a late dinner, here is the place."

"I recently visited The Shilo Inn, home to The Portage Grill. I was a bit surprised to find Cajun dishes on the menu, especially given the location in the ravine. However, I must say it was the best service I’ve experienced in a long time. The food was outstanding and the view was fantastic. "I have eaten at Woody's many times but this is my first review of it. If you follow me, you will remember that I am partial to Prime Rib. Just like the Chicken Fried Steak is the touchstone of any Diner, so is the Prime Rib for any Fine Dining restaurant. The thing is, Woody's is more of a Roadhouse, but their Prime Rib can compete with those white tablecloth establishments. Woody's offers Prime Rib Dinners on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only and only after 4:00 PM. The portion served is huge (see my photo and is accompanied by a big baked potato, au jus, and horseradish sauce. (If I had to fault the plate, it would be that they do not include a vegetable but, frankly, there is more than enough to satisfy almost any appetite. The meat was tender and juicy and cooked spot on to my preferred doneness of medium rare. Woody's coats the roast with a peppery dry rub, which is a perfect complement to the meat. The price (as of this writing is $24.99, and has not risen since before COVID. To their credit, unlike many places, Woody's does not tack on a surcharge. I added a small green salad (bleu cheese dressing, of course and an Arnold Palmer to drink (free refills , bringing my tab to $32.47, not including a 25% tip. Three cheers to Woody's for offering a 10% discount to active and retired military, police, and fire personnel. (Please note: This discount can only be applied to regular menu items and, since it is a week end special, the Prime Rib is not eligible. By the way, Woody's has a very complete menu, so don't be put off if you're not a carnivore. I have never had a bad meal or a poor experience at Woody's so, with confidence, I can say that Woody's is Highly Recommended."

"I remember this place back in it 's heyday late '80 's early '90 's. It 's nothing like that now. Food was impressive, but wish it was more Wow! Service was nice, professional. If it was busier everything and everyone would probably had a better buzz. I think I came at an off time. It 's like that sometimes. We got the burger and fries we are on a best burger challenge for the past couple of years. So far, this is great but not in our top five. Fair enough to say, Nob Hill Tavern in NW PDX and The Garage in Vancouver take the too 2 spots Also tried the Nachos love bat food and that dish varies everywhere you go. This was ok, but I thought the toppings were a bit sparse further down the stack. Chips were best part of it. I think they make those themselves. Quite tasty, just enough salt, crispy and crunchy even under sauce. Best part of the Nachos. Worth the dish the full one, not the half dish portion. Just get extra toppings added. Wish they layered the cheese better through those tasty chips on that stack. I I 'll say the size of the full portion that stack of chips was beautiful. Just wish it oized more yumminess. Won 't go back there again right away as it 's not in my path. But next time I am in that area, I will poo in and this time sit at the bar to watch a game. Loved seeing the back patio open again!!!! Old PDX establishment, worth the trip but maybe during a busier time to get that old school feeling again like in the old days. This was the joint, I tell you! Worth the price range, but needs to get back to pumping that awesome vibe that made people want to be there, again."

"We had a wonderful time at the Prime Rib Buffet! Our waitress was fantastic, which really enhanced our experience. However, I found the tables to be quite cramped. It was difficult to navigate through the space without bumping into chairs on the way to the buffet or the restroom. There’s very little room between the bar and the tables, which made me feel a bit confined. Despite that, we enjoyed our meal and were able to eat and leave quickly. "Been a couple times and had the delicious southern breakfast scramble. They have some really cute gift ideas, including the baby bear, mama bear papa bear hot sauce gift set. Staff is very friendly. Affordable prices, fun decor good location in WJ. But, not at all impressed with the inconsistency of how eggs are cooked. We both asked for medium, mine were overcooked, and the others were over easy. Also, HATE that they don't have gluten free options."

"Every time I'm on vacation I love to write reviews because I depend on other reviews when finding a place to eat. Loved that this spot was open early..walked in to order take out at 7:45am and Micky assisted me. Ordered French toast combo with sausage and eggs. Our second plate was the eggs Benedict. Both plates were delicious for a quick morning breakfast. Waited about 15-20 min for my food. DEFINITELY check your order... they forgot my fruit and my drinks and was only given 1 fork and knife and we had two plates. That's my reason for a 4 star rating. Place looked big inside and clean."

"A nice cozy old school neighborhood diner offering very generous portions for a good price. My roommate and I both ate our fill and had leftovers for later. The breakfast burrito is a beastly, hefty delight smothered in cheese and all too big for a person to actually pick up and put in their mouth. Meanwhile the Cobb omelette was an unexpected delight, served with a biscuit the size of a small dogs head, and unbelievably crispy home fries, it made for a wonderful breakfast. Fully recommended, and you can bet I will be back again!"
