"Our server was Cindy. She was so great! She had entertaining stories to tell about the owners family and she was very helpful with the menu. If we had a question, she always had an answer ! She coursed out our dinner perfectly even though as the courses came it became more and more difficult to put them down. The tortellini truffle stuff was probably the most tastiest thing I’ve ever had the please of eating. Our dinner was for a special occasion, after the last course I proposed to my future husband and he said YES! Cindy knew ahead of time and she kept the secret safe, after it happened she gave us warm congratulations (as did the other staff) but Cindy also congratulated our engagement with a bottle of NA Champagne…which I didn’t even know existed! It made me happy to toast some bubbly with my future husband even though I’m alcohol free. Thank you Nicolas for helping make mine and my fiancées engagement night so special. You all will forever be a part of an everlasting memory of a night so special to us both. We will definitely be back!"

"we are going in the rule to 90/90, but there was a waiting period after our movie so we decided to get up and check the steakhouse for future visits. we decided to give it a try, as there is no waiting time and a complete menu served at the bar. that was great. I'm always hesitant to eat in steakhouses because I don't like rare meat. I order my burger well made and usually over boiled and dry, or underboiled. that was one of the few places that understood it correctly. the steak of my man was cooked as he ordered it. there was a little waiting to get our food, and the workers were very apologetic and even force us to desolate. that will be our new dinner when we see movies here."

"We frequently go to The Fig Tree. I always order the short rib, but this time, in my opinion, it wasn 't the same. They have a new chef who informed me they have been making it wrong for all these past years. Oh, my....not a good thing to say to a guest, and unprofessional towards the past chef. Parts were very crusty, to a burnt level. The manager, Francisco, brought me another one which was a little better. The manager made up for the comment after I told him about it. He was very apologetic and cared, as he knew we were frequent guests. Thank you to the manger. On the other hand, my husband had the steak special which was slightly overcooked, but was good. This experience will not keep me away."

"I wanted to like this place. I Picked Piola for a dinner night and I was embarrassed by the time we left. It is built in a neat old house, on the corner of a residential street, which was kind of cool. The atmosphere was nice but unfortunately the food did not deliver. Tried both specials and neither one was good. I could have easily cooked something better at home. Especially the chilean seabass, which sounded great when described by the waiter but was dry and very basic and a small portion. Not very creative with the flavors. The fish itself was overcooked and tasted like a grocery store frozen aisle item. Furthermore the price for the specials was absurd for what they were serving. The prices of the other items on the menu were all very reasonable (mostly between the $15-20 range), and the specials were not written down anywhere but I wrongly assumed they would be in a similar range, even if at the higher end. I got the bill and they were 37 dollars a plate!! I was disappointed with the meal but even more so when I saw the bill. We also had 2 glasses of wine, which couldn 't have possibly been a full pour. The waiter was attentive, but cold and matter-of-fact The restaurant was nowhere close to full but he seemed to want to rush us out. With the word gardens in the name, I expected more than a covered patio. The only real garden feel was being able to see the neighbor house 's nicely manicured lawn. If the food here impressed me at all, I 'd probably come back."

"The food was excellent lets start there. The service was horrible, and just plain rude until it came time to pay and that was the most patient the server was from the start. Because tonight started with the server tapping her nails and asking us what we wanted to drink and I tole her my order and she just about walked off before my partner could order. The rest of the night would be like that, rushed, the drinks not refilled and when they were after asking her, they were just dropped off at the table in a rush, if she could throw the food at us I think she would have. We will not be back after tonight, and will let others know as well not to visit this place. Too bad it was pretty good food ... don't waste your time unless you are part of the servers fraternity."

"the food was delicious especially the garnelen bruschetta, baked Sicilian chicken wing, pappardella al funghi and costola corta di manzo (the slowly cooked, braised wein short rib, marsala winde reduction over polenta. the server was a little distracted because it took our drink order, but the drinks did not bring us until later. then our utensils were taken away with the appetizers and did not notice that we had no utensils when our escapes were brought out. we ordered desserts like tiramisu, cream brulee and zeppoles, which were very good. we would come back to try other entrees and apps."

"Went Christmas Eve and were seated by a large party. We asked to be moved and was only done reluctantly. I had the scallops and they were great however the Eggplant entree was small and came without any side (pasta...etc). We specifically asked about the portion size and were told it was large. It was more like an appetizer. They seemed to be a little disorganized and we had no one check on us until we were almost done. One table actually walked out. There is a lot of potential with the location but there needs to be a lot of training done before I would go back."

"My reservation was Sat 12/10 for 5 ppl 7PM. We got there and we were about to be turned away because the restaurant had a private party of 25 that they booked. The reservations that came before mine the restaurant had to turn away instead of calling ahead to let them know that they had overbooked luckily, they were able to accommodate us pretty quickly. Heather our server was great, and the young kid with glasses who helped her. The bartender who was serving that night needs to brush up on how to make an espresso martini and probably should take inventory of what is in stock of beer/wine/prosecco before service, so the server knows what to tell the customer. This is coming from someone who was in restaurant management and hospitality. All in all, for our first experience, we had a good time, and the food and service were good."

"Had two appetizers. Calamari fritti. The breading is light and crunchy. The menu said the dish also had pepperoncini pepper mixed in with the calamari. There were none in the dish. It came with marinara which was thick and kinda bitter with a heavy kalamata taste. Next was the salmone affumicato. This was a very nice dish. All of the components worked well together. Eggplant parm with pesto angle hair pasta. Eggplant was well prepared with lots of cheese. The pesto was, I’m not sure. Thin with a faint hint of dried mint. The fresh basil was very weak, almost bitter. Needed some seasoning. Kufteh tabrizi. A large stuffed mearball with jasmine rice. Very small amount of the filling. Very under seasoned. The baklava had very nice taste. The issue was it was warmed in the oven. Warm on the outside and ice cold in the middle. The coffee is very good."

"My sisters and I wanted to take our 82 year old mother out for dinner to celebrate her birthday. We though Winters and a newer restaurant would be fun, so I called Carbonis and asked if it were possible to have a quiet/quieter table as my moms hearing is not great, especially in noisy restaurants (I’m not local so I could not check it out on my own). The person I spoke to said yes, they had a couple of spots that would be good. I went online and reserved a table. When we arrived they sat us at a table that was big enough for 10 people and we were seated next to a large family with little kids. We try to gather at one end of our table so that we could hear each other let alone have my mom hear any of us. It was very loud to the point that even us gals with good hearing had to be loud to be heard. I looked around and could not see anywhere else we could be moved to where it would be quieter except outside and that was not attractive in 95 degree temps. They really need to add some soft surfaces to the place to reduce the noise…even if we had not been with my mom we would have been unhappy with that. IF my mom had not been with us we would have walked out and gone looking for a better spot, but did not want our mom to have to walk far in the heat. The food we ordered was ok, not bad/not great, just ok. The one truly bad thing we ordered was the “garlic bread” for $6.00). It was three thin slices of burnt bread smothered with an unattractive sauce. We would not go back or recommend the restaurant."

"Although the food takes a while to prepare and the prices are somewhat elevated (it is a top-quality Italian restaurant, after all), both the food and service are quite impressive. They serve the best pizza I have ever tasted, and I've tried both NYC pizza and authentic Italian pizza. The bartender is friendly, and the owner occasionally checks in with guests to ensure they're having a good experience. I recommend this restaurant if you're willing to spend a bit more. The only reason I can't give it a 5-star rating is due to the high prices. I would definitely visit more often if they were a bit more affordable."

"I am so disappointed. We’ve dined here once a year for the past six and have enjoyed ourselves. Tonight was not the same restaurant. I made reservations for 4 and was shown to a table set for 4 with 2 chairs. The hostess disappeared. I thought she was getting chairs but after a few minutes we found 2 ourselves. The waitress was friendly and prompt. The only red sine available was a Pinot noir. It was fine. My husband ‘s lasagna was so burnt in the bottom. Inedible. My pasta was good and my sons enjoyed pizza and spare ribs. The waitress comped our wine and lasagna. That was very nice of her. It wasn’t her fault. The food took over an hour. The place was dead. I’m sad we won’t be back."
