"With an extensive variety of dishes laid out on the buffet table, there are plenty to choose from to meet all your Indian dishes needs, here at Nirvana. We came in a Friday afternoon for the lunch buffet, 20 minutes after they opened. There was only one other table here, but the food looked promising and plentiful. There are around 15 main entrée dishes to choose from, including chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, goat curry, fish curry, chicken kebab, daal, cabbage, aloo gabi, palak paneer, kadhi pakora, pakora, okra, green beans with other veggies, lamb biriyani, chicken biriyani and two other rice dishes. See? Plentiful right??Unfortunately, there were only a few dishes that really stood out to me the palak paneer and the yellow vegetable curry. The paneer was some of the best I've had and the Kadhi pakora was something I've never had before. It was a pakora dunked in a spiced yogurt sauce, with the sauce being sour but super flavorful. The rice dishes were all good, but nothing special. The tikka chicken masala had too much tomato flavor for my taste, making it overly sour. The daal was pretty good. The okra and veggie dishes were lackluster in flavor.Dessert included watermelon, rice pudding, carrot halva and gulab jamun. The waitstaff was extremely attentive and almost immediately cleared our old plates the entire meal. The cost of the lunch buffet was $21.50, which I thought was pretty steep, but there was a good variety of food.Overall, can't say I'd be back here but it definitely was not a bad experience!"

"Absolutely fabulous authentic Indian Cuisine, this is truly one of Houston's diamonds, not only is the food great, the the staff is wonderful and the restaurant itself is very clean. The tables are well spaced and during COVID they make sure to allow space for everyone's safety plus they wear masks and the cooks wear masks and gloves. During this visit, I ordered the Cauliflower Manchurian which was very well made, honestly you could hardly tell it was Cauliflower, it was so delicious, reminded me of curry chicken nuggets but it was Cauliflower! I also ordered 2 Naan which were perfectly cooked, not burnet, well buttered, and very tasty, this is one thing I find lots of Houston Indian restaurants find hard since most of them I have tried in the past were burned in many places, but not here, the Naan was perfectly cooked. I also ordered Salmon Dill Tikka Curry (Medium spice) for my main dish, there was soo much food with the dish and the rice, it was enough to probably make at least 2 full plates or so, personally it filled me up and I even brought home leftovers. On the to go side, I also ordered Shrimp Korma (Mild spice) and Vegetable Samosa, both of which were delicious! You can order with as little or as much spice (heat) that you want, I end up generally only ordering Mild when I eat at Indian or Middle Eastern restaurants, because sometimes the spice can be too much, but not in this case, the spice complimented the meal very well. This is a highly recommended restaurant by me, I ordered ala cart, didn't do the buffet, but during COVID if you wish to go try there Buffet itself, they have it on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 11AM 2PM CST, then they close until 4PM when they re open for dinner, there is no dinner buffet. If you are craving authentic Indian Cuisine, give Tandoorish Indian Cuisine a go! They will not disappoint!"
