"Really surprising place. The ambience is nice, the personnel is super courteous. I had a great 3 course meal. The scallops were cooked to perfection and amazing. For main course I had steak and crab with bernaise, the crab cake was delicious, I order my steak medium rare but it came out more as a medium well, still it was great. And a nice piece of cheesecake with raspberry sauce for dessert. All in all a good experience that I might be doing again pretty soon... Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"This restaurant was the biggest surprise of my summer. I probably would have never known it existed if it weren't for some positive recommendations. When we arrived, we weren't even sure they were still operating because of their unassuming storefront. However, once we stepped inside, I understood why it was so popular. The atmosphere was vibrant, and nearly every table was filled during our visit. The real standout, though, was the incredible food. I usually don’t comment on my food after just one bite, but I couldn't help myself this time—it was extraordinary! I can't believe I’ve been missing out on this gem for so long. They also accommodate gluten-free diners exceptionally well. Not only did they answer all my questions thoughtfully, but they also had an entire separate menu dedicated to gluten-free options, which was almost as extensive as the regular menu. I feel like this is a place I could visit ten times without repeating the same dish, which is rare for most restaurants. I can't wait to return as soon as possible!"

"We were very disappointed in how we were treated at Bistro Le Steak. The waitstaff was fine. However, the manager who was greeting people at every other table and giving the women a red rose (it was Valentine's day) completely ignored us. We were a party of 2 women. In addition, my dining companion had to order her steak well done under instructions from her doctor as she is on chemotherapy. This apparently offended the chef who sent out a steak that had obviously been completely charred on purpose. It was actually burnt all the way through and was inedible. In addition her frites were burned, even though those at the next table looked very tasty. She chose not to say anything at the time, but we won't go there again."

"Over 20 years I've driven by but tonight as I begin a brutal workout and diet regimen, all I can say is: Marco! Polo!! First, this is my new favorite local eatery. Why? From the very boyish table clearing clerk who hawk eyed me to anticipate my need for water like a vestibule Gunga Din to my waitress who was one of the most attentive and responsive server I'd experienced in a while, to yet a second server who just stepped in to help clearing my table and was quite the charming Latina staff member, answering this. The food was so good, I asked if I returned for just the spinach and green beans and sausage, would that be possible? And I'm no vegetable dude but these veggies were succulent, juicy, flavorful and seductive , I had to ask! Beaming, she purred that of course I could do that! The interior reminded me of the locally famed Sal's Tavern in Red Bank, opening 1933 but now sadly gone. I'll be back! Marco! Polo...Parmigiana!"

"I fell in love with this restaurant the moment that I walked in. It has a very charming atmosphere and the staff was so friendly before we were even seated. Once seated, I was immediately impressed with the menu options, along with the wonderful specials. We started with their signature garlic bread and the shrimp cocktail. The garlic bread was delicious, while the shrimp were big, juicy, and served with cocktail sauce and horseradish. For my main, I had the Steak Frites . At 10 oz, this was just the right size for me. It was tasty, and was served with a delightful au poirve and mustard sauce. My wife had the Seafood Risotto which was incredible with a generous serving of mussels, shrimp, and calamari. For dessert, we had the special Banana Cream Pie. This was a mouth watering experience and was a brilliant way to wrap up the meal. Overall, this was an amazing dining experience, and I'm so glad that I celebrated my birthday here."

"swamp bucket. it's a restaurant that doesn't know what it wants to be. swamp buck has the decor and loud television of a sporty, but sitting and menu. they could only find their own music, tw and other customers who also try to talk about the noise. eating that his own is something hit or miss. it really depends on who cooks it. most employees seem to be university students and often represent mediocrity best. sauces are more watery. fish is sometimes dry when not burned. broth rolls are usually cold and dry. "I absolutely loved the Kerala parotta with green curry and mixed vegetables at this restaurant. The flaky and moist parotta from Kerala is incredibly delicious and hard to find. I highly recommend trying it with the curry. I also ordered samosas as an appetizer, although they didn't have a vegan dip, which was not a problem. I will definitely be returning and would recommend this restaurant to others. Update: I have been back several times since my initial visit and would give them 5 stars if I could. "I've painted this place numerous times and always wondered why it was so empty. Now I understand. My friend and I visited Light Bistro on Saturday night, and not a single person had been served before us. We were approached by a rather odorous man in a distracting shirt who informed us we had to sit at one of the high tables due to some reservation policy in the bar area. Our food, which lacked flavor, was brought to us within half an hour, despite the restaurant being entirely vacant. I can't help but think that, even in these tough economic times, diners will still flock to this establishment with its overpriced meals and an inflated sense of self-worth."

"Wow! I can’t believe that as a lifelong Chicagoan, I completely overlooked this delightful collection of food vendors and locally-owned boutique shops! Today, I took a relaxing stroll from the West Loop to River North and stumbled upon the French Market located inside the Canal Street Metra station. I discovered so many tempting food options and settled on Frietkoten Belgian Fries, as it’s been ages since I enjoyed authentic Belgian fries with delicious dipping sauces. I spent some time chatting with a couple of friendly professionals on their lunch break before browsing through some beautiful crystals on display. Michael, who works at the information desk, was incredibly helpful. He informed me that the crystal vendor was away at a convention in Rosemont, but he offered to assist me in making a purchase and connecting with the owner since he had their contact information. I ended up spending a couple of hours there, enjoying the food and exploring, and I met so many fascinating people. Igor Irbe even owns a map design shop in the market, so be sure to check it out and soak in the good vibes! I’m so grateful to Michael for his helpful advice, which made my shopping experience feel truly magical! I can’t wait for my next visit! Oh, and they welcome service animals too, and don’t miss the Barking Spot Bakery, which has plenty of gourmet treats for both dogs and cats!"
