"A must-try appetizer is their hot and spicy chicken wings, which feature a unique honey-glazed sauce that is both sweet and spicy! During our visits, we ordered several dishes, all expertly prepared: the Chinese-style crispy chicken was moist with a nice crispy skin, and the family-style tofu had just the right level of spiciness. The vegetables were stir-fried to perfection, maintaining their crispness, and the tofu was deep-fried just right. The pan-fried dumplings were fresh and delicious, accompanied by a dipping sauce that perfectly complemented them. On our third visit, we tried the Cantonese-style Chow Mein, and it was incredible! During our fourth visit, we enjoyed lunch specials that included tofu family style, sesame chicken, and hot and sour soup—all very tasty. The fifth visit included a jumbo shrimp lunch special with snow pea pods that was excellent, but the jumbo shrimp with Szechuan sauce unfortunately fell short and was quite bland; this inconsistency among their cooks needs to be addressed. On our sixth visit, things were fantastic! We ordered the Subgum Cantonese crispy noodles, one of their signature dishes, and our server Fang provided excellent service. We also ordered Chen Dao Chicken and Scallops with Hunan sauce, which were both amazing. The light batter was perfect, and the sauces paired well with all the ingredients. The Beef with Broccoli and Shrimp with Broccoli were again fantastic, as was the Hot and Sour Soup. The Beef Chow Fun had that essential 'wok hei' flavor! We even requested Hunan sauce for our Beef with Snow Peas, and it turned out fantastic! Lastly, the Egg Drop and Hot Sour Soups had wonderful flavors, and the Moo Gai Pan was delicious with tender slices of chicken. Thank you, Bamboo House! Keep up the great work!"

"One of the first things that my family does when we move into a new area is to find the local Chinese takeout place. You've got to have the restaurant that you call in a pinch and know that you're going to get a lot of food for a pretty reasonable price. We're on the hunt for the best takeout restaurant in Vienna and Peking Express was our first stop in our journey.Overall, the service is the best that I've ever had at any takeout place...ever. The location is convenient but probably not somewhere that you'd go to eat. The food is decent, but probably nothing to write home about. The price is equitable to other takeout places in the area.Let me break down the highlights a bit:1. As I said, I really enjoyed the service at Peking Express. The guy running the store when I went was very kind, thoughtful and easy to work with. More than that, he had a few regulars in the store who he knew by name and was chatting with. That was cool to me and a good reminder that unlike P.F. Changs, this place truly is local and a part of the community.2. The food was decent. You come to expect a certain level of quality when it comes to takeout food and Peking Express definitely doesn't surprise. They offer standard Chinese fair and it tastes basically like the food you'd get at most other takeout places. For that reason, it doesn't really stand out to me. I wasn't repulsed, certainly, but I wasn't blown away either. It was just fine.3. Price is a tough one for me because I'm notoriously frugal when it comes to spending. You typically expect takeout places to be on the cheaper end, but I was pretty surprised when I discovered that each meal costed over $11. I was so surprised that I started looking at other places to see if that was comparable or over-priced and, I admit, most other takeout places charge about the same (give or take a few cents). Maybe Chinese is just a little more expensive these days. All that said, you do get a decent amount of food for that price. We had leftovers which is, I believe, a must for any takeout place. For me, the combination of price and food ranks this as about average for me in the takeout world. We'd come back here in a pinch, but we'll probably be on the lookout for some additional options in the area to see if we can find a place to land."
