"This restaurant thinks and acts as though it 's a restaurant of high caliber, but it falls woefully short. It starts by notifying at the time of making reservations of a strict dress code , which they publish, then they reiterate the strict dress code when they call the day prior to confirm, and again there 's a sign at the entrance: however, despite all of the warnings they allow people in with torn jeans and sneakers, etc. Let 's come back down to earth and not be so self impressed. We asked the waiter to serve our drinks before bringing out the first of 2 appetizers, with a break between the 2. But he brought out the first appetizer, and followed with the drinks after, with the second appetizer coming before we finished the first. Exactly what we did not want. The server blamed it on the kitchen not my issue, that 's internal. If you are going to charge high prices, which I am willing to pay, then live up to that quality of service. When the main dish arrived (a whole fish for 2 of us), both it and the side dishes were not hot. The response: we don 't serve fish hot because we want it moist. Does that mean to suggest that fish isn 't hot when it comes off the grill at the point it is still moist? Of course it is, but it needs to be timely served, and that 's the problem. They offered to heat it up , but we choose instead to call it quits and left. Not the way to present a $63 entree. In total, a very disappointing experience. To top it off, Kyma reported to OpenTable that we did not appear for our reservation, which is certainly not true. I 'd be happy to show Kyma copies of my to and from Uber receipts, should they continue to claim otherwise."

"Take into account the Hall had just reopened for the season there were a couple of glitches. Our server, Tim, was new but very polite, helpful, accommodating, checking out meal content to meet the dietary needs of a member of our party. We had our drinks our salad bar when a female in a beige dress swooped in removing the wine list menus from our table. When I commented that I was glad we knew what we wanted to order, she became flustered saying she’d take our order immediately. I told her we were fine with Tim coming for our orders after we progressed with the salad course. She walked directly to Tim sent him to us. We hadn’t asked him to speed up but we placed our order to meet that females expectations. The rest of the meal went well. At dessert we asked to close our check so we could meet the 8pm curtain for the ballet. We placed two credit cards in the folder asking to split 50/50. Tim went to the desk to process our payments. In their hurry to close up, one of the females at the desk must have closed it was ours, they gave it to me. The desk staff told our friends they’d return their card when they found it; not acceptable. I reiterated what appeared to have transpired, told the cashier to look in the pile of folders. The missing card was in the third one down. I asked twice if our card had been charged so I could sign. I was told no. We were instructed to enjoy the ballet. Our phone dinged with a charge for the full bill. It didn’t include a tip for Tim. NOT FAIR! The desk needs to get organized and tip Tim 20% on $179."

Yummy Kabob

Yummy Kabob

3340 Gallows Rd, 22003, Annandale, United States

Juice • Halal • Greek • Afghani

"Their guava juice was really good- and it was clearly fresh squeezed fresh pressed juice like stated on the menu. I have also had the nutella shake which I did not really like. The cheese pie is good- it 's like a middle eastern pizza but the dough is actually better than most pizza places. The ground beef kabob sandwich was decent, with a different type of white sauce than what is used at most kabob places and halal guys. But this sauce was actually better than the standard white sauce offered at most places. I 'm not sure what exactly they put in it but it is somehow better. Their meat pie is actually a samosa which I did not like. It is misleading since Middle Eastern restaurants generally do have an actual meat pie dish- and it 's totally different than a meat filled samosa. Additionally, their samosas are just way too greasy. I had to throw out the remaining two after forcing myself to eat one of them. The ground beef kabob platter was fine, but the rice has a different aroma and flavor to it- I did not like the rice. It had certain spices and flavors in it that I dont think go well with beef and the white sauce. The rice here is not like the brown or white rice you may find at other kabob restaurants. Additionally I dont know if the bread here was old or its the method of cooking the bread, but the bread is very hard and dry and tough feeling. So on the kabob sandwich- the bread was actually the worst part, while everything else was fine. At many places the bread can be the best part of a sandwich like this. The baklava is standard baklava, I believe it is packaged and store bought, same as the baklava found at costco or elsewhere. I would come here again mostly due to their fresh juice menu items- it is unusual to find a fresh squeezed guava juice like this. They also had other interesting juices available like fresh squeezed strawberry, pineapple, possibly watermelon? Also avocado honey and avocado date juices or shakes and a banana juice or milk I believe."

"My friend and I went to visit MP Taverna last week and our experience was exceptional! From the moment you enter, and take in their tasteful and exquisite decor, you are put in the mood to stay a while and enjoy the atmosphere while dining. We started out with cocktails that were delicious with the perfect blend of flavors. Then, we had trouble deciding on an entree since everything sounded so wonderful, so we opted to start by sharing three appetizers. We figured we could make a decision about a main course later on. First, we had their soup of the day which was a tasty bisque with chunks of crabmeat; we were sharing so that was split for us and served with warm pita bread. Next came a wonderful white asparagus salad and baby back ribs. That appetizer was entree sized; the meat was perfectly seasoned, plump and extremely tender. By the time we had finished our appetizers, we were quite full so, we just ordered coffee. We were pleasantly surprised when two complimentary cannolis were brought out. The service was as exemplary as the food. Our waiter was very nice and knowledgeable about all the dishes. The dinner was well timed and he checked on us often to make sure we were pleased with everything. My friend and I had a lot to talk about and we sat at the table for quite some time. The check was not brought until we asked for it which we greatly appreciated. The manager came by along with the chef to make sure that everything was to our liking. Overall, being at MP Taverna was an absolutely wonderful experience and I am looking forward to visiting them again soon! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys great service and fine dining in beautiful surroundings. Well done, MP Taverna!!"
