"I CANNOT RAVE ENOUGH ABOUT THIS LOCATION THEY TREAT ME LIKE FAMILY. I am an avid strater and have been coming here every Wednesday for a few months now. Not sure why Wednesday but my favorite group of staff (EVAN,DIEGO, and BRIAN) seems to work this day. I’m not sure if it’s to see me but that’s what they make it feel like every time I come here. I have had the pleasure to get to know these individuals, and whether or not they knew I was having a bad day that day they always made my day a lot brighter. I always sit in the corner booth to the right and it’s even gotten to the point when I reserve on open table and walk in they have it reserved for me. How lucky could I be! I always order the Mimi’s meatballs for a starter and get the penne alla vodka add mushrooms red pepper flakes and shrimp. Trust me if you try this you won’t regret. I also add for extra sauce on the side because I like it saucy! I pair my meal with a recommended red wine usually a 2016-2017 red. I pair it with the tiramisu or the cannoli for dessert. I cannot forget my expression martini that’s one of my favorite parts, Diego actually recommended this item my first time and I have made it a staple every time. If you want a place you can come alone, and not feel alone or come with a group or a date. This is the place. I’ve done all three and they haven’t disappointed or made me feel like a burden. Thank you for making my days!"

From the moment we walked in the door every person who took care of us was efficient and friendly, and they cooperated well among themselves. Jackson, the man who took our orders and answered our questions about the food and wine, was wonderful. At the end of the meal, he even reminded us that a set service fee was already included in the bill.AMBIANCE: 4.5. Comfortable, warm atmosphere. Customers order food from the menu posted on a blackboard, and order drinks from a paper table menu.FOOD and COFFEE: 4.5. 5.0: Appetizer of Roasted Cauliflower. Perfect not too soft not too hard texture with savory seasoning. 4.0: Appetizer of Fennel Salad. 4.5: Mafaldine with Dungeness Crab. My partner praised it highly. 4.0: Rigatoni with Lamb Ragu, with included cabbage. I enjoyed it. 5.0: Dessert of Pana Cotta: herbal, mildly sweet taste. Precious. 5.0: Dessert of Chocolate Espresso Torte, with cream: moist chocolaty texture and perfectly not to sweet. 5.0: Espresso coffee. One of the very few excellent espressos I have had in the Pac NW.DRINKS: 4.5. Beer, ale, cocktails, and wine. We had wine with our meal, and ended with a digestif. The wine selection is limited and chosen to marry well with the plates; it is served by the glass or carafe (half bottle). The two Italian wines we had went very well with our main dishes. In response to my request for an after dinner drink, Jackson served us a tinted grappa with a marvelous but light herbal taste."

"Reem was the most accommodating host I've ever encountered during my travels and in my time in the hotel industry. Check-in was effortless with the keypad entry. The room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully luxurious, featuring a comfortable bed, soft linens, and a cozy couch. The bathroom was also generous in size, and I found myself wanting to take the mirror home! Our room overlooked the gardens and patio, which were beautifully lit in the evening. The restaurant had a modern yet comfortable vibe, blending casual elegance with chic décor, including oil paintings, rustic farmhouse doors, tin tiles, and special touches throughout. Reem and her staff welcomed us warmly into their home, and I appreciated the time they took to help us choose our meals. I opted for the house specialty, the ravioli, while my husband selected a seasonal dish. The service made us feel like family—perhaps even royalty! We enjoyed a delicious meal, paired with outstanding wine, and dessert that was simply irresistible. I savored the warm strudel with sour cream ice cream, while my husband relished the espresso chocolate mousse with frozen mascarpone. Honestly, I would have happily devoured both desserts—they were that good! The next morning, we sipped coffee in the gardens and took our time enjoying a leisurely breakfast. We explored Washington, VA, and Sperryville but decided to have breakfast at the quirky and delightful Skyward Cafe right across the street. It was an easy 45-minute drive to Flint Hill, and I wholeheartedly recommend spending an evening at the Blue Door Kitchen if you're looking to be treated like family, indulge in delicious homemade pasta, and meet a passionate staff dedicated to their menu and service. The Inn is a fantastic choice if you're interested in exploring the surrounding area and its wineries. Our experience was wonderful, and we can't wait to return!"
