"We had a great experience here at lunch. This place was in walking distance from our training we were having downtown Winston-Salem. We were able to get in and out in under an hour. I had the lunch chicken fajitas and it was fantastic. I would definitely go back. The waitress was on top of things. One thing I liked that I don't see very often was the waitress was able to process card payments from her hand held device so no waiting for the checks, then waiting to take them to a register, then having to find a pen.... nope none of that. Signed and added a tip from her touchscreen."

"I've been visiting this restaurant since it first opened, and the food is fantastic, especially considering the prices! My favorites include their pastelitos, patacones, French Toast Platter, avocado toast, mangu, and all of their smoothies are incredible! The healthy shots are also a great pick-me-up for my husband and me when we're feeling a bit under the weather—they help us recover naturally. I particularly love the Chocolate Almond Smoothie! Just a heads up: it takes some time to process orders because everything is made fresh, so I usually order ahead for a quick pickup. If you're not in a hurry, you can walk in, but keep in mind that there isn't much space to stand."

"Went there yesterday 11/21/22 with family who were visiting from Puerto Rico. It was their 29th wedding anniversary. Had a wonderful time even though we arrived an hour earlier than we expected, they were very accommodating. The food drinks were delicious. Our server Angie at the Harlem location went above beyond. She was great..! Thank you again Mamasushi Harlem we will come again again. ;"

"Not a big deal, so my dad called the restaurant to let them know (I was listening in on this call as well). However, the employee was extremely rude and asked if he wanted to place another order, and then my dad got hung up on twice. I decided to call myself and also experienced the same issue—getting hung up on twice while trying to explain what happened. When my dad tried to call back, they wouldn’t answer. I really don’t like this place because the staff has consistently been very rude every time I’ve visited. Once, I was told to seat myself, only to be told to move because the table I chose wasn’t available. I’m not an employee, so how was I supposed to know? Although I don’t eat here, my parents have gone often and likely won’t be returning after this incident. 1. The management needs to check in on their staff because the customer service is terrible. 2. There are much better ways to handle a situation when a customer calls to report an incorrect order than hanging up on them. I did ask to speak with a manager, but the woman just hung up on me as well."

"the girls and I came together to bang at this place. When I arrived, I was lucky to find it right in front of the parking lot. I went in and had to wait until a majority of my party arrived. when they sat in one. the dj was a lot reggaeton not much mix of genres. we started drinking and I went with the sangria I didn't like, so turned to the jack punsch, which was sweet but not bad. we were served by two young ladies and there was a bit of a language barrier, but they understood. for my entrée I got that huh and waffel and it looked great when it came out. I dig in and it was pretty good. the hot sauce I asked for, gave him a kick. the girls also seemed to enjoy their meals. the bill was quite reasonable and all in all I had a good experience."

"I visited this restaurant hoping to try their food, but unfortunately, the staff seemed indifferent and reluctant to serve. No one asked if I wanted to place an order, and I kept receiving strange looks. However, as soon as three Spanish customers walked in, the workers immediately greeted them and asked for their orders, as if I wasn't there first. This wasn't a one-time occurrence, and honestly, I won’t stand for that, especially when there are plenty of other better Spanish restaurants in the area. I've seen multiple reviews claiming the staff has biases against Black customers, and based on my experience, I believe them!"

"I ordered food online and didn't receive everything I paid for. When you order online, they direct you to use DoorDash, but I went to pick up the food myself. When I called to address the issue, the manager insisted that everything was in the bag, which was untrue. He then claimed that the DoorDash driver had the missing items and that I needed to contact them. I had picked up my own order, so that didn't make any sense. The prices are far too high for such poor service and accountability from the management. El Parallel used to be a great spot, but sadly, it's not the same anymore. Now, I’ll have to find a new place to eat."

"We went here for the last time recently. This was the third time we were disappointed, but we wanted to give the place another chance. The service was slow and completely unprofessional. The staff were speaking Spanish and discussing inappropriate topics in very loud voices. We were just a group of friends trying to enjoy ourselves and pay for our meal. The food was overcooked and tasted old. The mushrooms resembled chunks of meat and the steak looked like pieces of dirt. The vegetables were soft and resembled mashed potatoes. We couldn't wait to leave. It was my birthday, and I regretted not choosing a different restaurant. It was my mistake, but I will never return."

"I ordered food through a delivery app, and it took a long time for the meal to be prepared (I was tracking it). When it finally arrived, everything was cold. I live less than 10 minutes away; I probably should have just called in for a pickup, but I don’t want to blame the delivery service. As for the flavors, they were decent, but unfortunately, they didn't sit well with my whole family! We tried empanadas, yaroa, and cachapas (with chicken). Overall, the meats were very dry. The yaroa was acceptable, but the empanadas were disappointing. They were large, but when you bit into them, they were almost empty. There was filling, but not enough of it, and the flavors just weren’t great. They might have been old empanadas; if they had been fresh, maybe they would have tasted better. I really wish I had read the reviews before placing my order because I would have chosen a different restaurant."

"I don’t usually give any negative reviews, but I will have to say I was deeply disappointed with our experience this evening. We ordered via phone and picked up a to-go order. We were charged almost $40 for 6 asada tacos. When I asked how much they were, they told me it was over $6 per taco. That’s nuts! We requested no onion on the tacos due to a food preference and when we got back home, they were slathered with onions and bland beans. We spent 10 minutes picking out onions. They were very over priced and tasted terrible. The other meal we purchased was adequate, but nothing I would recommend. $60 wasted for two meals we ended up not finishing. Would not recommend."

"from the reservation to the front entrance to the guide to the table and haydens attention and service was the experience from beginning to end exemplary. the whole experience made our 58th anniversary celebration excellent. based on our 57th annual day, we wanted our guests to experience dakotas as they are new dwellers of tyler. they were impressed, and we were not disappointed. we all enjoyed the waygu filets with different salates and sides. and the desserts were excellent. "We went here after my cousin recommended this place, but after going we honestly don’t know why he did. Our waiter was immediately confused with our order despite everything being on the menu and needed to check to be sure they had ingredients for everything. My mom was then served an iced latte with milk so far past sour that it was literally curdled with bits of curdled milk floating in the drink. Our food all came out at vastly different times her omelette was just ok, while my avocado toast was $16 for white bread (not sourdough as is on the menu), barely any avocado, and overcooked eggs (an add on without which there would barely have been any food in the order). We then waited 20+ extra minutes for my boyfriends order, also avocado toast, which wasn’t even started until after our food had come. When we tried to forego his order after waiting so long, they insisted we wait and pay for it. His order was even worse than mine, with his bread not even toasted barely at all (picture below). They did nothing really to help make the situations better. I would absolutely never come back here and encourage others to think twice about the quality of food you’re ordering. And to smell your milk before you drink it."

"Next time, if it's going to take 40 minutes, just let me know upfront instead of saying 20. I could have used that time to relax or get some work done. I ordered carne frita with French fries, which were a bit too thin for my liking, although the juices from the meat added a lot of flavor. I also had a steak quesadilla, which was delicious. "The staff at this restaurant is incredibly kind and friendly. I decided to order a Dominican cake because I was really in the mood for that authentic Dominican cake and its frosting. However, when it arrived, I was disappointed to find that it was not actually a Dominican cake at all. The frosting, which is the best part, was not the traditional Dominican frosting but instead a whipped cream frosting. I will have to look for other local bakers who work from home and make authentic Dominican cakes."
