"Pleasantly surprised by the food and quick service. Wanted American Chinese and decided to give this place a try despite the reviews— so glad I did! Ordered online and it was ready when it said it would be. Went inside and saw how food was cooked fresh and to order. It was clean and very deliciously smelling. Ordered an appetizer sample and it smelled and tasted fresh and with quality. Got an order of general gau’s for my husband he and liked his meal. The flavors of the lo mein had that wok flavor and I was impressed. The food was fried well but not only. Will definitely come here again."

"So I most definitely gotta leave a review hey guys those of you who have followed my reviews always know that I love to let others know about my experience that I have had which might be different from yours but hey this is my review. so I stepped out on faith today as I visited this restaurant located in Midlothian the name of the restaurant is called Gum Wah I'm a pretty loyal Patron meaning that when I like something I'm going to keep going there so my to go to restaurant I forgot it's closed on Sundays so I was looking on Google nearby restaurants and this one kind of stood out to me I checked the menu I read almost like 90 reviews and I looked at their food online so I said hey why not the gentleman that I talked to over the phone just had a really good energy about him you know like I could tell that he really cares about delivering world class customer service so this next comment doesn't have anything to do with them there wasn't really like a lot of spaces to park so I had to park in this Auto shop parking lot I looked around to see if my vehicle was going to be towed I didn't see anything plus I wasn't going to be in the restaurant very long which was next door so the gentleman at the pickup window was the same gentleman that I talked to over the phone I told him I was here for a pickup and while I waited for my food I think I waited less than 5 minutes I was looking at the menu and I just really had a great conversation with the gentleman that took my payment that I wanted to extend my gratitude appreciation so I left a tip and I had to get a smoothie I really like smoothies by the way I got a strawberry mixed with banana and I added tapioca to my smoothie so when my order was ready and I left the tip on the merchant reciept copy The gentleman gave me some Chinese almond cookies which you guys don't know are one of my favorite cookies and I really like the fortune cookies as well they always have a comforting message that I read when you crack them open I ordered a large chicken fried rice for my wife and son and I and I also got four vegetable egg rolls so I drink the whole entire smoothie before I got home and I wanted to wait and save the almond cookies. when I got home I ate all three almond cookies I left one so my wife can try it so she can see what all the fuss is about I have never had vegetable egg rolls so fresh also the chicken fried rice was so perfectly put together I might have found me a new Chinese restaurant also besides Chinese they specialize in Cantonese Mandarin and Szechuan cuisines so let me leave you with this if you guys are in the Midlothian community please visit this establishment they definitely deserve 10 Stars they are open Tuesday through Saturday and Sunday and they're closed on Monday."

"Dietary restrictions: I have celiac disease, and I'm very sensitive to any trace of wheat and I can attest that this stores gluten-free menu is really gluten free, is also 100% delicious. Considering that I've eaten gluten for over 20 years and I know what gluten should taste like their gluten, free food is just as delicious, maybe even better, a little bit more expensive, but it is totally worth it and gluten-free. So if you have a intolerance to gluten or have celiac disease, this place is the place to come and all the other food is delicious. They have the best Chinese food. Kid-friendliness: They do have some cheaper items such as hamburgers, hot dogs or French fries, for kids and your kids can enjoy the adult food too, its delicious!"

"I went to an event at the Kowloon... the food was good but, the service was not.. it was a party of 35 people.. the waiters, did not understand us too good..(understandably to a certain point). .. we had, to wait a while for our food and drinks.. they also.. when, bringing over the bill included their tip!!.. I thought, we decide how much we would like to give them.. depending on service etc we ususally give 20%.. they would not take our money ,until we agreed to this... I never heard of such a thing.. even thou, we liked the food.. we will not be going there for a night out or an event...ever again..."

"My husband and I used to visit China Chef frequently, especially during our early dating days 26 years ago, but we hadn't been in a while. Remembering how much we loved the food and atmosphere, we decided to take a drive there for dinner. We arrived at 4 PM and noticed there were no cars in the parking lot, which made us worried the restaurant might be out of business. Upon entering, we found the lights were off, but they turned them on as we were being seated, which felt a bit unsettling. Unfortunately, the interior was not as we remembered; it was quite dirty. The walls were grimy, there were crumbs in the creases of the seats, and the carpet looked worn and unclean. We ordered egg rolls, but they were unpleasant; the filling was sticky and clumped together. We took one bite and sent them back. For our main courses, we ordered beef chop suey, but it tasted far from fresh and was lukewarm. Naturally, we ended up leaving it untouched. After paying the bill, we left still hungry, having wasted $40. We ended up stopping for dinner elsewhere. We're very disappointed and won't be returning. This is definitely not the China Chef we once enjoyed."

"My husband and I were in town for a conference and hit this place up on a whim. We had, I’m not kidding, the best meal either of us ever had in this restaurant. There was no cell service inside to leave a review but here I am like 6 months later dreaming of this place. We have had a lot of intentionally fancy expensive meals together and separately that did not leave us raving like this place. We planned our entire trip home around how to preserve our leftovers. I gave my mom a bite and she went absolutely feral trying to have more. I want to extend gratitude to my server who made sure our table was perfect and our needs were met in a way that even fine dining has abandoned after covid. She made us feel cared for and respected. Our meals were plated beautifully and were SO delicious. I honestly would make the trip just to eat here again, and I’m thinking about it when the weather gets nicer. Thank you for making our trip memorable."

"Really, really good American Chinese food. Great value, huge portions of delicious classics. If you're craving American Chinese food Jasmine Cuisine will really hit the spot.Service is excellent, everyone is kind and welcoming. I came to pick-up holding my toddler in the rain, and the lady behind the counter offered to take my bag to the car for me (which I politely declined but very much appreciated the offer).My kid also has a bad tree nut allergy, and I feel like ordering from certain Chinese places can be dicey. I let Jasmine Cuisine know when I was ordering and my kid had zero reaction/sensitivity, even though his worse allergies are to cashews and walnuts which are often featured in American Chinese and I presume in certain dishes on their menu. Gives me great peace of mind that they took my request seriously."

"This was our first visit to Grand Oriental Chinese and it exceeded our expectations. The exterior may not be impressive, but the interior is beautiful with ample seating. The service was outstanding; all the staff were friendly and attentive, remembering all our needs. The server who brought us our tea and food was personable and had a great sense of humor. The dishes we tried, such as the wrong tofu soup, Szechuan aubergine, and string tofu sue, were all delicious. The portions were generous but not overwhelming, and the presentation was lovely. There were also vegan options for those looking for healthier choices. The sauces were flavorful and the Szechuan dish was the best I've ever had. The oolong tea, served in a teapot for refills with loose leaf, was also excellent. The only downside was the cost, with a 10% increase in billing mentioned on each menu to combat rising food costs. While the experience was superb, the price was on the higher side (about $40 for two before tip). Overall, Grand Oriental Chinese provided us with a fantastic dining experience, albeit at a premium price. Despite the cost, we would still highly recommend making the trip to Loveland just to dine here."

"Upon placing my order for PuPu for 2 and seafood delight which came up to 40 dollars and change i paid with a $50 and she only gives back a few coins we i ask where the rest of my change 9 dollars to be exact she gave it to me. Her actions were deliberate also food is sub standard .. eggrolls were bad , Chicken not cooked well, barbaque ribs dry and not edible, Beef teriyaky dry , Seafood delight had a lot of sealegs 1 piece lobster 2 scallops a few shrimp. Over all my experience was terrible food was to be ready in 15 minutes to took over 30 and with almost No business.. Save your Money this crummy business should be shut down. Also No one wears a mask. SHUT them Down."

"The food here is very good. The Best Chinese food, imo in Joliet, and I have been looking. Portions are well served. Everything I ordered was great. I ordered a veggie lo mein by mistake cuz who orders veggies i aint vegeterian) and that stuff slaps. It's really freaking good. My only complaint is the dough for the dumplings is too thick, same for the crab Rangoon. But they were still very good. This is the 1st time I ordered Chinese food in my life and I don't have any leftovers the next day. It was that good. I found my new go to place. You should give it a try. "Takeout review. Was at Aldi 's and hubs and I were hungry so decided to get some Chinese food. Was not expecting much here but LET ME TELL YOU! They have Beef Chow Fun here!!! I 've been craving that for weeks cause can 't get that around my area! Was about to just make it myself too! They speak both Canto and Mando here too! Took us 30 mins before we could eat it so it may not be a great critique of what it would be. My craving of beef chow fun was slightly disappointing as it wasn 't as 'wok hei ' as I would prefer and a bit too 'wet ', but it still took the hankering away. Hubs got his usual sweet and sour pork which was really good, even had pineapples which he says most places don 't offer. If we visit that area again or my parents visit, I would totally come back here for some traditional Chinese family style dinner!"
