"Food was amazing we split the salmon (they were out of lemongrass, but the chef made do) and the risotto. Wonderful everything cooked and presented beautifully. The bread was out of this world (apparently a substitute honey/whole grain baguette that they picked up at a local bakery when they ran out of the usual) totally addictive! Service was great very nice young lady. Seemed inexperienced (had to go back to check on our questions), but so pleasant it didn't matter (and in restaurants, it's better to have the right attitude you can train the skills). Only quibble was that they would charge for refills of the iced tea already not inexpensive, so to each pay $5.90 for that is ridiculous. Overall very nice little place."

"I absolutely love the salads at this place! There are plenty of options for add-ins, and they are always fresh, huge, and very affordable at around $10. However, I’m not as impressed with the sandwiches. I visited around 3 PM, close to closing time, and the salad counter was already closed, so I opted for a Turkey club. Unfortunately, it was one of the pre-made sandwiches on display, and it tasted stale and bland. I imagine the sandwiches might be better earlier in the day. Overall, it’s generally less busy and rushed compared to the nearby civic deli."

"I 'm going to start off by saying 'sorry ' but this review is not going to favor the restaurant! First of all I 'm reviewing TOMAS CAFE IN OXNARD CALIFORNIA not SF. We have eaten breakfast at Tomas ' many times both before and after Covid. Having said that we have eaten at various restaurants throughout the county, so I am comparing them when referencing my issues with Tomas Cafe. When first walking into the restaurant there is no one there to greet you nor are any of the tables 'set up '. Finally when someone does come out to welcome you to their fine establishment we 're told that we can view the menu, which is spread out over the counter, and order. After putting in our orders we are told to sit at any table (tables without any napkins or silverware. When our food arrives it is on paper plates, which aren 't even pretty, accompanied with plastic forks! My husband will try Mexican breakfast meals as well as traditional plates. I love a country style breakfast with bacon or sausage as I am not a big breakfast person. But I have always told my husband 'how can you screw up a breakfast of bacon and eggs? ' Well what does it say about breakfast when all you can compliment are the eggs on your plate? My sausage links were really sad, the potatoes were poorly seasoned and the bell pepper and onion were just thrown on top! The Chile verde my husband ate was just mediocre and the beans and rice needed more flavor. I 'm sorry but I missed not having a person come over to ask if 'everything was ok '. As I said we have eaten out many times since the shutdown, also known Covid, and there are plenty of restaurants which are still greeting you as you enter and visiting your table to ensure you have a good experience. One final thought, I would not have left the tip I left when I ordered if I knew I would be as disappointed as I was. Sadly we will not be returning."

"Food for 4:00 pm seating on Thanksgiving buffet was meh . Rolls were hard, roast turkey was dry and stringy, roast beef was DRY. ..my daughter tried the orange glazed turkey offering but said she didn;t care for it as an alternative to traditional roast turkey...the cornbread dressing was OK. Hot vegetable choices were unusual for universal appeal (asparagus and brussels sprouts) better choices to appeal to more folks might have been green beans, peas, corn, cooked carrots, a spinach dish, etc. Cold salads (I tried 2 of the 4) were different but tasty. Deserts (carrot cake, apple crisp) were very good, family member said chocolate cake was dry. All in all it was OK but not great ."

"The food was decent during my visits. On my first trip, I ordered the F&B burger with a Caesar salad. The burger was cooked perfectly, but I found it a bit bland and had to add ketchup for extra flavor. The Caesar dressing was a departure from the traditional version, and I’m still unsure if I liked it. The burger and salad combo cost $16. On my second visit, I opted for the lunch special, which included a half Lamb Sandwich and White Bean Soup. The bread and rosemary aioli were fantastic, but the sandwich itself was just okay. The soup lacked flavor, so I ended up adding salt and pepper. For dessert, I tried the brie cheesecake, which was unique compared to a classic cheesecake; it was thicker, slightly tart, and creamier. The lunch combo was a steal at $10, while the cheesecake cost $12. Overall, I would recommend giving F&B a try at least once. I appreciated the atmosphere and the variety on the menu."

"I got married nearby at Stamford Museum Nature Center at the end of September and I wanted to make sure we had breakfast and lunch taken care of for the bridal party. I called a few days ahead to put in orders for about 8 people and the owner Fafar was so enthusiastic to help out in any way with my wedding, it was so sweet! My dad picked up the food for us in two orders, and she was so helpful and kind to him. All my food had little notes for me to enjoy my day and everything we got was hot, fresh and delicious. Nothing better than food made with love, highly recommend."

"I go to ray and mikes every other day when I pass it after my errands. I get the same thing everyday and after about 3 visits they remembered my exact order and whenever I walk-in they smile, ask me how I’m doing and ask if I’m getting my usual and then within 5 mins I have my sandwich. All the workers there are so nice and are always happy and laughing with each other it’s a great atmosphere. And to top it off the food is great. I’m a very picky eater so the fact I can eat this chicken is great lol. I will always recommend this place to people and will keep coming"
