"I informed the waitress that I wanted my eggs cooked medium-well and crispy potatoes. However, the eggs arrived runny and watery, and the potatoes were undercooked. I usually don't complain, but this experience was disappointing. The waitress mentioned that this was how they typically serve them. When she brought the plate back, I should have asked her to take it off my order instead. Overall, it was a frustrating experience. Hopefully, they'll do better next time."

"Took awhile for someone to come take our drink order, but other than that it was pretty good. I travel all over the US and order a medium cheeseburger and this is the only place in probably 3 yrs that I actually got a medium burger. My girlfriend got a BLTand had so much bacon on it I swear I heard it oink lol. Side salad could use a little work, only lettuce, cucumber, and cherrytomatoes. I don't eat tomatoes so it was just lettuce and cucumber. Not that great. Thank for a wonderful dinner on shot in thewind on trying a place. If I'm back in the area I will definitely return. Oh yeah, please get some sweet tea for us southernersthat come and visit lol!!!"

"The waiter Tiffany is a bad waiter. Before completing the order, she leaves!! She had to get the Mgr for approval for a drink. It's cool, I get it, but at least complete the order before doing so. After speaking with the Mgr, Mgr was made aware Tiffany was not getting a tip. Then she zooms by and says someone else is gonna be your waiter. Didn't come to the table just walked by us not even looking at us and says someone else is gonna be your waiter. Frankly, the treatment was rude, she acted like a ghetto snotty noise witch. Omg. My choice was really Red Lobsters, but it was my Daughter's decision to eat at TGI Fridays. After Tiffany did that little stunt we all just took the high road and walked out. I was looking to bless the waitress that had good customer service that day. Guess my blessings was not suppose be bestowed on her that day. Some people really rely on good customer service after a rough week at work. Oh well. So be it. Whatever."

"I was pretty disappointed with our evening here. I called the restaurant ahead of time to check that it would be safe and adequate protocols were in place. They have Gluten free and gluten friendly items. I ordered the gluten free pecan crusted Steelhead with fries, and within an hour, knew I had been glutened. Another member of our party had the steelhead salad, and the steelhead was only partly cooked, my husband ordered a medium flat iron steak, and it was definitely very rare. I know that they are working on their gluten-free protocols, but they are not quite there yet. They have a gluten-free fryer, I’m just not sure that it was used on this occasion."

"As we have done for many years, we celebrated our wedding anniversary at Ryan’s. As regulars, they remember our favorite table and had it ready for us. Netta was our server, and she provided perfect service. Since I noted the anniversary when I booked on OpenTable, management provided us with complimentary glasses of champagne to start our meal. The wine list is broad and reasonably deep (4 very nice Pinot Noir choices, for example). The bread, salads, and baked potatoes were ample and delicious, and the steaks were perfectly prepared. The peanut butter pie and Nudge coffee were the perfect end to a perfect dinner. We’ll be back before our next anniversary."

"I give this place only 3 stars. Vegan night on Wednesday is really good if you get there early. The first time we tried Vegan night they were totally out of the special with no backup or alternative Vegan special. The vegetarian bill of fare is not bad, but finding anything that can be made vegan is a magic trick. The wait staff was completely unprepared to attend to vegans, had little to no knowledge of vegan diet, and had to make multiple trips back and forth to the kitchen to answer simple questions. Our order was wrong, the table ware was not clean, and we finally gave up and sent our order back to be packed to go. We received complementary desert that may have contained animal products. We did try a Vegan night again and we arrived before the start time for serving. So that rendition was excellent. If you are a vegetarian this place is good. If you are vegan it's kind of marginal. Vegan night would be great and 5 stars if the establishment was offering and alternate special when they run out of the advertised items."

"Worth the detour. After seeing a few dishes posted on Instagram (found by searching #RVA), we detoured to The Savory Grain on a trip from OH to GA. We arrived at the tail end of the Sunday brunch hour, pleased that we hadn't missed the live music (guitar and upright bass jazz). We took seats at the bar, and were quickly given waters and menus. Our order consisted of an artisan salad with applewood smoked bacon, and carrot cake pancakes. Not so great: the salad arrived with ham, not the bacon requested. Great: the pancakes were surprisingly, and refreshingly, not-too-sweet. I won't be returning—State Street Pizza is my new go-to now."

"I recently had the pleasure of working with Countryside BBQ for an event at our manufacturing plant, and I can't recommend them highly enough! From start to finish, their service was exceptional. The team arrived promptly, set up the food, and served all our employees with efficiency and a warm, friendly attitude. They even went above and beyond by returning from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM to accommodate our second shift workers. Their speed, kindness, and thorough cleanup left a lasting impression. Jennifer, our main contact, was particularly wonderful—she made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. The food itself was fantastic. "Our meal was incredible- the cheesesteak egg rolls were next level and the crab fries were a great take on a local flavor. After dinner, we headed to the bar area. I didn't know this place turned up after happy hour- lots of TVs and a DJ. It was a little chilly so we didn't go to the outdoor bar and there is also a hidden room in the back with another bar and party room. All in all, a fun upscale sports pub!"

"Extremely slow service. Our food didn’t come out for nearly an hour after we ordered, even though others were getting their food. The waiter never came and gave an explanation for the wait, but we figured he forgot to put the order in, especially since he came and told us they were out of brisket a half an hour after we ordered. The restaurant was dark and my grandmother asked for another candle for the table and the waiter said “Umm, I’ll see if I can find one” but never came back with one. I ended up getting one off of an empty table. Very disappointed."

"My family and I came into town from Tokyo Japan, Boston MA, Baton Rouge LA, and Winchester VA for my graduation. My friends from Florida couldn’t make it due to plane cancellations from the IT crash so our reservation went from 9 to 7. Everyone at the restaurant was really friendly and sweet and did not make me feel bad for the last minute change in reservation. Our server, Parand was super awesome and attentive and we had a great time. She and the restaurant gave me a dessert gift to congratulate me on my graduation. Thank you all so much!! The atmosphere was calm and trendy and the background music was great. Great selection in food and drinks and everyone found something they love to eat. Good pours on the wine and champagne!! Everyone from the front desk to the bars to all servers on the floor, was welcoming and friendly and smiled and greeted us whenever we passed them. Thanks for being a great place to have our reunion! Parking: My brother dropped us off and then went to park the car. He found one around the corner. Street parking may be difficult at busier times/days. We went to dinner at 6pm on a Saturday night so there weren’t many people in the area (or in the restaurant)."

"I would like to be able to give a great review. The food was good and the location for our party (porch) was very nice. However the service for our party of 8 was not good. The waiter was not attentive to the group and they felt ignored. There was a cake we brought to be served for dessert and he had to be prompted to bring it out, then didn’t bring a knife to cut it. The dinner lasted nearly 3 hours on a Sunday evening which then prevented the group from being able to take photos as they planned (it was too dark). Just overall a very disappointing experience for a party we spent a lot of time planning and preparing for. I really expected it to go much better as we have always enjoyed your restaurant in the past."

In a region where it can be challenging for vegans to find suitable options, our waitress went above and beyond to assist us. She frequently checked in with the kitchen to help us find a vegan appetizer, a suitable salad dressing, egg-free pasta, and a vegan pasta sauce. Ultimately, we enjoyed delicious bruschetta, a salad, and penne with tomato sauce for dinner. While it might not be the most memorable vegan meal, it was still very tasty and entirely plant-based! We were delighted to meet such friendly staff and enjoy great food. Both our waitress and the entire team were fantastic. If we return to this area for Plant Stock next year, we will definitely visit again."
